New hostel with great atmosphere xxx

My stay at Habibi Hostel was just perfect. I wanted to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying for a week. It was also my perfect spot to work remotely. You are gonna feel home immediately. The hostel is located on the top of a lil hill, there is a shortcut to the city center / main beach road (5 mins walk through nature), you get a great view for sunrise and sunset from the rooftop, the rooms and the hostel itself is super clean, beds are extremely comfy and the linen smell like being home (or better ;)...). You can wash your laundry there, eat and drink good and just enjoy the cute city of Unawatuna during the day. I will be back. ❤️ Thanks for everything.

Really beautiful place, surrounded by the jungle 😍 but the best thing were the vibes. The owners are amazing and really caring, they’ve put so much love in this place 🫶🏼 Thanks for everything guys!! Will definitely come back.

It was the best hostel in Sri Lanka. I was so impressed by the chill roof top. And the manager took really good care of us. Thank you for the amazing time.

Very comfortable, clean and chilled place in the jungle. Although it is close to the center, it is calm and the atmosphere is super relaxed with very welcoming guests. Food and drinks are great, staff is very attentive and helpful. Everything is great, yet the best about it is the owner Mousa. He is truly one of a kind and will do everything he can to make your stay perfect. This place is a a gem - I cannot recommend it enough!

Very nice Hostel at 10 min walking from the beach. The Guy at the reception is very lovely and nice. I have met many people and we shared a meal. It was Amazing. Go for it without hesitating. ☺️☺️

Lovely hostel run by the wonderful Mousa! I met some lovely people here and would 100% recommend it. The walk back through the "jungle" is beautiful, especially at night when the stars are out, and the rooftop bar/ eating/ relaxing stress is very special.

Beautiful middle eastern place run by siblings. The building was very nicely designed with a lot of self made decoration. A very comfortable roof terrace where we got really good breakfast; flatbreads and very good coffee. Room was spacious with an nice balcony. Staff was super friendly and helpful arranging a scooter, taxi and suggested us nice places to eat. It was a little far from the Main Street but with a scooter super easy to reach.

Habibi means friend in Arabic and that’s exactly what you’ll find if you go there. We had such a warm welcome there. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. I have to mention this is the best shower we found in Sri Lanka in over 2 weeks, instantly warm with good pressure ! The whole building has a nice vibe especially the cozy rooftop. The restaurant wasn’t opened when we visited but we can’t wait to go again to see how good it is! The location very close to the beach but still away enough from the touristic street will make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend this place if you stay in Unawatuna! Shkran Habibi !

This hostel was amazing, we loved it. The atmosphere was really nice and there was a beautiful view. The design is very cosy and it feels like home. Especially the owner is a very very nice man and helps you with everything. He even made us some amazing falafel when we were planning on going for diner but couldn't because of the rain.

Our stay at Habibi Hostel was excellent. We felt very comfortable, were able to extend our stay without any problems and were well looked after. The hostel is in a quiet location, well equipped, clean, within walking distance, with super sweet, caring housekeepers. With the owner coming from Palestine, the hostel gets an oriental flair and enchants with great food, great music and impresses in every detail. Very clear recommendation.

One of a kind place, beautiful atmosphere, I really liked the Arabic food they serve, especially the Falafel, the hosts are amazing with a lot of experience in the area, you should ask them to take you to the secret sunset place, and the rooftop is amazingly amazing as well!

We stayed for one night and could have easily extended! The hostel is super new and has a great vibe. It’s up a little hill and it feels like your in the jungle. The rooms are very clean and so are the bathrooms. The rooftop offers a nice view and place to take some pictures. The restaurant is still closed for now, but the owner got us a Tuk Tuk for the local price that brought us to a lovely restaurant, waited and took us back to the hostel. In the morning they tested some recipes for the menu and we got offered a traditional Arabic pastry. Everyone was super lovely and also it was no problem to check our a little later. Thank you!

This is the best hostel that I have ever stayed at. It is very clean and comfortable. There is amazing art all around the property that is only overshadowed by the beautiful nature and ocean breezes. The owner is helpful, kind and accommodating. I highly recommend starting your day by ordering Arabic coffee and enjoying it on the rooftop terrace. There is a shortcut through the forest that will take you right to the nearby town. It’s dark at night but if you’re willing you’ll be rewarded with fireflies in their natural habitat. If you’d prefer to drive you can easily Tuk Tuk back up. I will definitely be staying here again!

Cute and clean place that's very well designed but it is very much up in the jungle and takes a 15-20 min walk from town. There is no ac in the rooms which is surprising as it was one of the most expensive places we stayed in. There was no food when we were there and not much of a vibe but maybe it was still too empty when we visited. Nice views from the rooftop!

Amazing experience! Booked a private room and absolutely loved it, felt like in a hotel with a private bathroom, shower and balcony! Moussa and his wife are great hosts and help wherever they can! The food is amazing and you can smoke Shisha on the rooftop watching the sunset - this was definitely my absolute highlight!

Very stylish and clean hostel! Big terrace for chill in the evening. The host is very friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and bars.

The hostel to be, lovely vibe. Highly recommend for great value. Team is awesome.
