This place is very bad, the air conditioning is not working, there is not enough warm water for a routine shower and of the top of this there is also cockroaches running around the room. What comes for the staff and the owner, they are very rude and try to get what they want by screaming and shouting. They made a huge mistake by giving our room to some hitchhikers who came asking for a room. Yes, the room we booked months in advance. They still tried to get the payment for the bigger and more expensive room. When you try to get this sorted out, Raju starts to scream about how we have ruined the atmosphere and we are the one who made the mistake. Apparently Raju cant use Booking or any other reservation software. Raju, if you read this review, first of all behave. I've been reading your answers and I really hope people understand what kind of "man" you are. Second, don't bite the feeding hand TL;DR No aircon Overall filthy rooms Bad owner

Booked this place for 8 nights and had to cancel my reservation after first 3 hours of stay. Very disappointing place. There is no air condition. It’s located 15 minutes walk from the beach and the city center. Bed is uncomfortable and noisy, there is no hot water. Furtinure is old and dirty. But the worst thing is that there are construction work, they start at 9 am and you can’t sleep. Do not recommend this place, there are much better hotels Unawatuna for the same price.

What a beautiful cosy and quiet little paradise up in the hills.. The sympathetic hosts and staff have been always available and reliable. The little lovely granny will melt your heart. If you would like to have some organization regarding scooter, laundry etc they definitely help you out. The apartment in the middle of a jungle was perfectly cleaned and a little away from the crowdy and loud promenade but with a Tuktuk you can be at the beach and in the restaurants in some minutes during day and night time. Best tip for an authentically super delicious Cafe and restaurant close by: friends Cafe :) We highly recommend Dionis and would love to come back soon.

If you’re thinking of visiting Unawatuna, make sure you stay at Raju and Francesca’s villas. It’s the most beautiful, serene and welcoming place, located in the lush jungle a short walk from Unawatuna’s centre and beach. Raju and Francesca are the most amazing hosts you’ll meet. Without a doubt, Raju was the best part about our stay in Unawatuna. Generous, thoughtful, always ready to give you help, tips, advice, anything you need. It was hard to leave this beautiful part of Sri Lanka largely because we had to say goodbye to Raju. He’s one of a kind. Not to mention their gorgeous little dog Lulu, the sweetest, funniest, most gentle little pup you’ll meet! No thought has been spared to make your stay here comfortable. The rooms are light spacious, beautiful gardens everywhere and views from the rooms, clean private bathrooms, comfortable beds, and fully equipped kitchens if you want to make your own food. There is also a small rooftop terrace with views across the treetops and sunsets. While it’s not on the beach, me and my friend loved the fact that we could take the short walk or quick tuk tuk and get away to the green calm of the jungle. We can’t recommend Francesca and Raju’s place more highly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Raju is a perfect host! Very helpful and kind. Rooms are big, kitchen fully equiped. We had nice open kitchen. You can see monkeys from your windows and balcony. The garden is very beautiful. Both beaches (Jungle beach-our favorit, Unawatuna beach) can be reached by foot (10-15 min). The location is on the "hill", not on the main busy Unawatuna road what is perfect to relax- and if you need party or action- you are very easy and fast in the center. Thank you Raju for pleasant stay!

Good place, maybe one of the best point for relaxation in Unawatuna. Set in a wonderfull garden Its near to the main bay and to the Jungle Beaches, beautiful Beaches with White Sand and Nice Jungle view. Dionis Villa Has a Great staff and the owners, Raju and Francesca have been so friendly and helpfull. Comparing price and quality , this is an excellent choice! Its home feeling and the apartments are stunning, well furnished and very clean. And i saved lots of money cooking at home and having barbecue in the garden!

What a great place to stay! If we only had more time... The Sri-lankan-italian couple that built up Dionis Villa are so wonderful hosts that you immediately feel at home. They truly care about nature and the environment and made the place a quite and green oasis in Unawatuna. The apartments and the garden are made with so much love - as well as the food if you ask for homemade dinners. And by the way: Raju is an excellent guide and surf teacher! We can really and totally recommend Dionis Villa!

This place is very good. It can booked through Airbnb. Price is reasonable and value for money. Host and housekeepers are very hospitable. Location is at little bit distance from Galle city center. Unawatuna beach is just 7 minutes walk. Nice place to stay.
