If you want somewhere purely to sleep and keep clean, this place is adequate. Our room slept three and was relatively spacious. We each had a small bedside table, there was a fan and access to a hairdryer and iron if you asked for it. You are in 10 minutes walking distance to Centraal train station, and many bars and restaurants are a short walk away. For the cons, this hotel is very noisy. The doors slam easily, and the outside street is constantly noisy so if you’re a light sleeper it won’t be easy. The beds weren’t very comfortable, especially the pillows which felt like rubber. We only had one electric plug which I think can be dangerous if you have people plugging in many extension cords. The en-suite bathroom was incredibly small, you had to sit at an angle to use the toilet, otherwise the door wouldn’t shut. The shower ceiling had mould and the water pressure was quite weak. There is no lift, the stairs are narrow and dragging luggage up proved to be a difficult task. If you have limited mobility I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, I would really suggest booking a better standard hotel if you’re not on a tight budget, it is worth the extra money for somewhere comfortable and clean.
Hotel was clean and quiet our room was small but we knew this so was not a problem we didn't eat here only because we were there experience the culture and food , staff were very polite and helpful. A good experience 😌
Nice place where to stay. Could have been cleaner and the toilet paper was missing but everything was the same as described in the booking website. Super close to the central station and the centre so very good! No elevator only stairs
When checking in, you need to pay a deposit (100 euros). If you pay by card, the refund will take about a month. We paid in cash and we got this money back when we checked out. The location of the hotel is good, but the hotel itself is a bit old. The room was clean, but I think the prices are tourist prices.
The rooms are quite small and the bedding was the same all the way through, the housekeeping left our door unlocked twice, having no private bathroom is not good, but hey it is as advertised, the staff were so helpful and friendly, but despite putting in the notes for a first floor room due to mobility reasons we were on the second floor, very steep stairs, but we had a great time here. Oh and breakfast is available as we were offered it as an option when we checked in.
I have no clue how people give 1 star reviews. We had een perfect stay. The room was nice. Not big but big enough. Great ventilation with the windows open. The room was clean, shared toilet and shower clean ((NO MOLD AT ALL!), and the location really perfect in one of our favorite parts of Amsterdam, the Haarlemmerbuurt, close to the city centre. The only thing missing was a cozy nightlight, but that has been missing in literally every hotel I've ever slept in, they are always way too bright. Also great service when we booked the room. We had not booked in advance, and they first showed us the room and the toilet and shower to make sure that we were okay with the room before paying for it.
Triple room booked with en-suite. Very basic room, non working tv on the wall, filthy windows and windowsills with paint chipping off. Mattresses stained and filthy and pillows seen better days. Bathroom was utterly revolting and required me purchasing cleaning products whilst on holiday to clean the bathroom ourselves. Informed reception twice, who were lovely and helpful although they promised to rectify our issues which sadly did not occur. Steep steps upto the room and no lift which was fine for us. Only one key card worked between 3 of us, informed reception and we were given one more card. Hotel in great location, just wish it had been cleaner
A great small hotel with reception that is open 24/7 with great and attentive staff. We had a heating issue in our room and they fixed it immediately. Would be coming back definitely!
The only two good thing here are the prices and location Literally everything else is way too bad The morning staff are good but slow The night staff are un trained can’t even fix a lock The check in is 3 am and check out is 11 am There is one electricity outlet and it’s beside the door so you can’t charge while you in bed They don’t have elevator and the stairs are too small feels like you are a fire fighter, I don’t know how I was able to carry my luggage all the way up (I was in the third floor) The sinks are too small I can’t wash my hands properly The bathroom light works with motion sensors, and it’s not a good one because it keeps on switching off while I’m inside Seriously I don’t recommend at all
It was very cheap, and the staff was nice, and we got free mini stroop waffles at the lobby. But the elevator didn't work, and the stairs are really steep and narrow, which gave us a hard time with the suitcase... There was no shower on the fourth floor, so we had to go down one, and the room was tiny without AC, and really hot. Overall would recommend for people on a tight budget only :)
This has to be the most pathetic excuse for a hotel I've ever seen in my life. I'm honestly not sure how this place even exists. I'm guessing it's a prank hotel because how the hell else can a hotel be this badly managed. 1. The room was absolutely disgusting. There was dust, marks, stains and holes all throughout the room. The bathroom had black mould in and the shower was designed so that water just went straight out onto the floor and went everywhere. Oh and zero ventilation, with no working fan. 2. We asked for towels because we only had one between four people. We asked the person working that night for more to which he told us they didn't have anything other than floor mats.. the lady the next night easily resolved it. 3. The pictures definitely do not match the actual hotel. For anyone thinking "oh maybe just for one night because the locations good" trust me, it's not worth it. Book across the road for the extra money. You'll thank me later.
This experience was an absolute disgrace. I expected the rooms to look like the photos, but in reality, they were the complete opposite. Every time I walked through the doors of my room, an awful aura hit me, leaving me feeling disgusted. The window was only big enough to let in a little bit of fresh air. Even though the location was perfect, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this place at all. Do not trust the photos!
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! After reviewing the comments I hesitated and called the hotel. The receptionist confirmed that we will have a private bathroom. We arrived and they said we do not have private bathrooms. The receptionist was dishonest unsure of what she was saying and unfriendly. Then they said they have rooms in the basement with private bathrooms but all rooms are full. While changing the rooms of other guests to the basement rooms. What a double standard! If you would like to enjoy your stay book a hotel that is reliable and has honest employees! We had proximity issues and this was the closest one but never again.
Do not stay here, the room was more like prison cell, 6ft wide by 10ft long with a bed sink and mirror. There was a tv but it didnt work. I've stayed in hostels that were better then is so called hotel
On the website the rooms look good. After a long drive, we arrive, and our room looks nothing like the pictures. We paid 860 euro, for a room in the basement, with a tini tiny window you can’t close. And with the “hotels” location, central Amsaterdam, it can be a little noisy…
This is the one of the worst hotel I ever stayed. I am a UK resident which I flew to Amsterdam for holidays, I arrived late because the hotel that I booked wasn’t close to the city centre, I tried to look for another hotel which I found this hotel and I was charged €87 for a night including breakfast and tax with a staff before I checked-in which he was telling me €77 a night including tax without breakfast. I was told in the morning with another staff after had my breakfast that I wasn’t paid for breakfast which I had to pay another €10 for the breakfast. I spoke with the lady and the night staff guy which I even let them know what they are doing is called “extortion” the morning staff lady agreed was shouting at me that I had to pay not knowing that I had a cash deposit of £100 pounds with them. It took them almost 10 minutes before they found my deposit. Guys watch out if you’re paying in this hotel, because they have their logic of extortion.
The rooms are not at all like in the pictures. Everything is very old and damaged, there is no toilet in the rooms. We were placed on the 4th floor and the toilet was on the 3rd floor. I am also not satisfied with the service, not at all WELCOME. The employees look at you strangely and whisper among themselves, a very unpleasant situation. ABSOLUTE ZERO. Now and never again.
Super surprised! My partner & myself have just spent 4 nights in this hotel. From the minute we went in the young lady on the desk was so pleasant! I honestly haven’t a bad word to say about my experience at this hotel. When we arrived we had a lovely chat with the receptionist, she explained that the stairs wore quite steep and unfortunately there is no lift but we knew this before booking. We looked at the room we wore booking so we wore aware of the shared bathroom but fortunately for us we wore the only one on the floor so we had the amenities to ourselves which was a bonus. When you arrive at the hotel there is a deposit and city tax to be paid at check in. When we wore checking out we did receive our deposit back straight away (we paid this in cash) so I am unaware as to how people have been waiting “weeks”. The hotel itself is ideal for location and central to everywhere you would be looking to go. The cleaners came in to clean our room everyday while we wore there which was highly appreciated and the toilet and shower room wore cleaner than expected A lot of really negative reviews but I don’t see what there is to complain about we only spent time in our room when we wore going to bed!! All in all I am so pleasantly surprised with this hotel and I will definitely be booking again soon!
