Never
again…
I
know
this
is
a
HI
Express,
and
wasn’t
expecting
to
be
blown
away
but…
Our
first
room
was
very
damp
and
smelled
like
an
old
basement.
The
Front
office
staff
spoke
little
English
and
were
in
street
clothes,
and
took
some
convincing
to
change
our
room.
(From
accounts
from
other
guests
and
reviews,
I
believe
the
pair
live
at
the
hotel
and
often
would
leave
signs
to
call
from
the
courtesy
phone
and
respond
from
their
room.)
Our
next
room
smelled
of
Body
Odor,
but
being
it
was
11pm
and
we
had
soccer
early
the
next
morning
this
was
as
good
as
it
was
going
to
get.
The
next
morning
we
took
a
closer
look
at
the
room,
and
it
was
evident
the
room
had
not
been
cleaned
in
some
time,
namely
in
the
crumbs
on
the
floor
and
the
hair
tumbleweeds
in
the
corners.
Over
three
nights
there
was
no
room
service
or
access
to
fresh
towels.
The
next
day
of
our
trip
we
arrived
back
at
our
room
to
find
our
keys
didn’t
work,
so
we
went
to
the
front
desk.
The
man
working
the
desk
stated
he
had
deactivated
our
keys
and
asked
us
if
we
were
still
using
our
original
room,
as
we
had
left
a
number
of
items
in
it.
I
told
that
him
no,
as
we
were
only
there
for
one
minute,
but
he
took
us
there
regardless
to
verify.
Without
hesitation
he
opened
the
door.
I
stayed
in
the
doorway
because
you
could
see
that
someone
was
staying
in
the
room,
and
that
the
beds
had
been
slept
in
(still
smelled
like
basement)
I
thought
we
were
going
to
pick
up
a
pair
of
sandals
or
another
small
item!
I
told
him
it
was
not
ours
and
he
asked
me
who
it
might
be?!?!
He
eventually
took
me
back
to
the
desk
to
reactivate
our
key.
Essentially
they
had
no
idea
who
was
in
the
room.
The
final
kicker
was
the
set
of
fake
eye
lashes
that
came
out
of
tissue
box
when
my
wife
pulled
out
a
tissue.
We
stayed
with
about
20
other
families
and
our
experience
was
not
alone.
Apparently
there
had
been
a
flood
in
the
building
and
rather
than
take
care
of
the
issue,
the
hotel
just
continued
to
operate.
Multiple
rooms
with
mildew
smell
and
visible
mold
on
ceilings/walls.
With
a
large
tournament
in
town,
flexibility
for
new
accommodations
didn’t
exist,
and
we
all
had
no
choice
but
to
stay.
Needless
to
say
we
didn’t
sleep,
and
couldn’t
wait
to
leave
St.
Louis.
Finally,
I
would
have
to
agree
with
other
reviewers
that
it
seems
that
the
reviews
for
this
hotel
are
pumped
full
of
fake
reviews…
