Awesome service especially Whitney. Very convenient location. Nice restaurants and bars in walking distance and bourbon street is a short Uber ride. Rooms very clean and free good breakfast. AAA rate was $135 a night. Also close to WWII Museum

The room was really pretty but when we arrived they had lost our reservation but gave us a bigger room. The room looked really nice but the bigger room was this additional weird room that actually echoed! It had a couch that had a sleeper which was a nice surprise and my God daughter decided to use it. Everything else at first glance looked great! As the night progressed I went to grab dinner and my best friend took a shower. When I returned I found out she had to go downstairs to get big towels as there were none in our bathroom. She decided to take the stairs and found it was not as nice in appearance! She said it was in quite the state of disrepair. She said they were even light fixtures hanging just barely on. Then she said there was a big glob of hair in the bathtub she had to remove. That grossed her out a bit. I was just noticing the multiple stains on my comforter about the time she was telling me this. We finally got to sleep but around seven am were woke up by the sound of water in the bathroom! We looked at each other and wondered if my God baby had gotten up to shower. No she was still on the sleeper! We found out it was just water pouring out of the bathtub faucet. We couldn't make it stop. We were so tired we returned to sleep but the water did quit. It lasted about as long as it would take someone to take a shower!!! Must have happened from someone showering in another room. In the morning we went by the free breakfast. What s joke! They had biscuits but no gravy, they had turkey and pork sausage but they looked sickly, they had eggs that looked like they came from a powdered mix, they had mini cinnamon rolls that looked dried out, I'm a yogurt fan but not a peach fan about the only flavor I don't like but the only flavor they had, they had hard boiled eggs but they looked over watered and wrinkly, there was also a waffle maker. The waffle smelled wonderful but I didn't have time to make my own. So I grabbed a milk and left very disappointed by the bland, unappetizing, unattractive, good choices. I mean come on guys get some packaged gravy mixed up next to your biscuits, get rid of that gross sausage and get some good microwave bacon, upgrade to liquid egg mixes. I mean a few minor changes and wow! Get some croissants and ditch the gross mini cinnamon rolls. Get creative and modern! So overall, not the best experience. The swimming pool we did look at but what a joke. It looks big enough for Barbie maybe! However, if you need a friendly front desk staff and a comfy bed this is okay. Just don't expect good housekeeping, clean bedding, to sleep late, or eat solid food at breakfast.

Stayed there this past weekend. Lobby was in midst of renovation, and I think we were just about the only ones at the hotel. Afternoon/evening front desk gentleman was over the top to accommodate us to make sure our stay was pleasant. Owner and morning shift front desk lady were both present and social to us during breakfast, and despite only a few of us there, there was an abundance of good hot food. No complaints, as we were happy to have a decent place to sleep that was within 5 minutes of friends we were there to visit. Stayed here before and will stay here again.

Being 3 miles from the senior living center where we visit my uncle, the location couldn't be better. The bonus is that it's also a nice place to stay. The room was we'll-appointed and clean. The only marring note is that the shower curtain, though functional, was ripped and shabby looking. Spend a few bucks and replace it! Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. I love the pancakes vs Belgian waffles. Staff was universally pleasant. We'll be back.

We are frequent visitors to Holiday Inn Express hotels. The hot water to our room took about ten minutes to get to proper temperature to take a shower in the afternoon. It was faster in the morning when there was more hot water moving through the hotel. Water pressure in the shower was sub par. There is some construction going on one side of the hotel on each floor which wasn't an issue. Hopefully they are able to get a handle on the slow hot water issue.

Worst night of sleep I have ever had at a hotel. Only getting one star because the bed was comfy. They advertised a pool and that is only reason we booked this location for our Special Olympics team. No where on the website did it state they are under renovation. Our room had just been painted that there was still painters tape on the smoke detector and the fresh paint smell caused a headache. You could hear everything but mostly doors slamming when people where leaving. I will not be returning. Breakfast wasn’t great either, half stocked. Staff wasn’t helpful, had ear buds in and while asking questions continued to say, “huh.” The other didn’t speak English.

I recently stayed at the HIE for three nights. The rooms were nice and clean when we arrived. Our room was not fully serviced after that point. I took off one star for that. The trash was taken out but the beds were not made. The TV was huge and had tons of channels. Breakfast was good. The other star is because the bed was too firm in my opinion. I really didn't sleep well until the third day. It had no give but did have a small layer of padding on top. If you like a firm bed this is your place.

Very impressive! Clean hotel and rooms. Great shower! Comfortable bed. Breakfast had much to choose from and tasty. Nice staff. We will definitely be back!

This hotel appears to be in the process of getting some updates, but they have stalled on the process, perhaps. Good value if you don't mind a few inconveniences. They have a good hot breakfast in the morning but must be short staffed as the front desk one day was trying to keep up with a busy breakfast group and run the front desk resulting in being short or out of everything several mornings. The pool is open, and per their website, states they were closed for remodel back in Jan-Feb. However, there are construction materials for building strewn about the sides of the pool. The pool itself appears unclean with slimey build-up all over the tile on the inside of the pool. Windows and other fixtures appeared that they needed some attention for some time now. The entire pool area smelled like mildew. The staff is very friendly and accomadating. I saw the same 2 individuals every day over the 4 days we were there and they were very nice but seemed like they could use some additional staff to help them keep up as they were doing everything and struggled to keep up at times. Until they get things in order, I would say if you are looking for a place with good value and a clean room this works but I would avoid until all their issues are remedied otherwise especially if you want to use the pool.

The room was decent and beds were comfortable. The bathroom however was not great. We started hearing dripping in the bathroom and went to see that the shower from the floor above us was leaking into our bathtub through the shower light. My husband went to take a shower and almost fell due to standing water from the floor above us. Breakfast was so bad that we left and didn't eat. Breakfast was completely cold, the OJ dispenser was basically light orange water, all coffee creamer was empty and the staff was no help. Such a disappointing stay.

Me and wife got a night out away from kids. I actually no the owner of the location in Wenzville, Mo and do a lot of work for him, so I stayed at this location sense it was closer and I thought I might get a deal but I did not. The bathtub handle was broke so we couldn't use shower at all and it smelled like mold or something by the bed. For $150 I definitely would have enjoyed using the shower and could've went without smelling a bad odor all night by the bed.

This hotel has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if they changed management but the front desk workers aren’t very pleasant. We came here quite often and it was a great hotel! Everything was clean, the workers were friendly, and the service was great. However, now the halls are dirty and everywhere outside had a terrible dumpster odor from when you walked in the parking lot. Even when you sat on your balcony room you could smell the trash filled rotten dumpster.

They are renovating right now. This should have been stated in the website. We traveled with children and a pool was why we chose there besides the location. We had to figure out other entertainment for the day because of no pool. Worked out fine. The refrigerator didnt work. The heater chose when it worked. We ran out of toilet paper halfway through our stay(half roll), no extra in room. Staff were polite but never checked anything while we were there. The room size was perfect for our family. We will try again once renovating is done.

Breakfast was good but that’s about the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. Our room smelled musty, A/C didn’t work properly, and then we had no hot water for our morning showers. I hoped to address theses issues when we checked out, but the staff had conveniently “stepped away” from the front desk (according to the sign on the counter) for over an hour that particular morning. Would not recommend this place!

I’ve stayed in better Holiday Inn and I will not be staying here again when I come back to St. Louis. The air conditioning in my room was barely working, there was food/cold items left in the freezer part refrigerator. The refrigerator needed to be thawed out. I’m a IHG reward member and I didn’t get any of my stay preferences.

This place is definitely not a hotel worth 120 a night. I booked our hotel stay in April for 2 conjoined rooms that were available for my family and my mom so she still had her own room but we were right there if she needed us. Well when we arrived and checked in the so called new manager gave us rooms on 2 different floors. When I told him we were suppose to have conjoined rooms, he just blew it off and said were booked. Like ok well we booked this months ago. So when we went to our room on the second floor the moment we walked in it smelt awful. It smelt musty and moldy, we noticed an exstra portable dehumidifier not even running and the bucket was full so we had to empty it, and the tabels were still dirty. We told the "manager at the front desk that our daughter has breathing issues and also we wanted a courtesy cleaning. And we had to ask for more towels there were 3 of us and we only had one available in the room. We got towels but they never went and cleaned the room and we were stuck in a nasty room. We definitely felt ignored by management with the issues we were dealing with, we won't be back to this location very disappointed for a hotel that was suppose to be nice it was dirty and not pleasant. To add one more thing there was barley anyone at the front desk for help there was a sign that said away for the moment pick up the phone and call 🤦🏼‍♀️

Let me first start by saying the front desk was helpful. That’s it. The hotel hallway carpets on all floors were stained badly. Needed to be vacuumed badly. The hotel ice machine on my floor broken. The smell of our room, gross. Floors in room gross, dark, dingy, and full of stains. Had to wipe down bathtub. Found dirt specs and one body hair. Torn bath curtain. Small amount of dried toothpaste on bathroom counter. Scrubbed it off with Lysol wipe. When we arrived at 10:30 pm house keepers were still cleaning multiple rooms. Vacuuming until 12:30 am. Two families that we were traveling with left in the middle of the night they had mold on their room. Only reason we didn’t leave is we were with a group and they already charged my card and was afraid I would not get refunded in time or at all with. We had to bring our own blankets in because, those sheets just scared us from what we had to clean. One House keeper In particular was extremely rude. Can’t recall her name. Told us to move as she got off the elevator. One fridge we saw was stained with spilt coffee. Dirty pillow cases in some other rooms and the windows look like they haven’t been washed since Bush SR. Spoke to a local there and was told the hotel was flooded two weeks prior. That makes sense with the smell in most rooms. The pool area beware. Slimy floor, and debris on the bottom. Absolutely disgusting. Over $2.50 for a single wash and $2.50 for a single dry in the laundry room. For two days $322 dollars for horribleness. I have stayed at holiday inn express before. Not the greatest but now we this bad. Only stayed because the group reserved it and we had to pay well in advance. Never again. Sorry for the front desk workers. But the hotel is a sham.

The room itself was nice, the bed was comfy although the shower was broken and wouldn't turn on. The reason for the poor review is that my husband accidentally left his wedding ring on the nightstand and when he returned it was gone. The hotel manager seemed proactive about finding it at first, but we were given the go-around for a week. The housekeeper was either not on duty or the manager was off at the time so the housekeeper couldn't be questioned. They were not proactive at all in helping locate and return his wedding band. If you stay here, don't leave anything in the room that is of value.

Upon entering the room we noticed it smelled horrible, which ended up being the refrigerator, that didn't work. The water pressure in the shower was a fine mist and when the shower head was rotated to the massaging option it was like water coming out of a garden hose. The sheets were clean but had stains. There was not any hand soap, I found a housekeeper down the hall and asked about it and she said "we're out, you can use body wash"...while she was vaping. The body wash (and shampoo and conditioner) are mounted to the wall in the shower and the body wash only had a little left in it. There wasn't a luggage stand in the room. Two positives, the breakfast was decent and the bed was comfortable. When we went by the front desk, no one was ever there to discuss our room situation. We stayed in this hotel a few years back a few times and it was great, really sad that it has gone so downhill. We won't be going back.

Never again… I know this is a HI Express, and wasn’t expecting to be blown away but… Our first room was very damp and smelled like an old basement. The Front office staff spoke little English and were in street clothes, and took some convincing to change our room. (From accounts from other guests and reviews, I believe the pair live at the hotel and often would leave signs to call from the courtesy phone and respond from their room.) Our next room smelled of Body Odor, but being it was 11pm and we had soccer early the next morning this was as good as it was going to get. The next morning we took a closer look at the room, and it was evident the room had not been cleaned in some time, namely in the crumbs on the floor and the hair tumbleweeds in the corners. Over three nights there was no room service or access to fresh towels. The next day of our trip we arrived back at our room to find our keys didn’t work, so we went to the front desk. The man working the desk stated he had deactivated our keys and asked us if we were still using our original room, as we had left a number of items in it. I told that him no, as we were only there for one minute, but he took us there regardless to verify. Without hesitation he opened the door. I stayed in the doorway because you could see that someone was staying in the room, and that the beds had been slept in (still smelled like basement) I thought we were going to pick up a pair of sandals or another small item! I told him it was not ours and he asked me who it might be?!?! He eventually took me back to the desk to reactivate our key. Essentially they had no idea who was in the room. The final kicker was the set of fake eye lashes that came out of tissue box when my wife pulled out a tissue. We stayed with about 20 other families and our experience was not alone. Apparently there had been a flood in the building and rather than take care of the issue, the hotel just continued to operate. Multiple rooms with mildew smell and visible mold on ceilings/walls. With a large tournament in town, flexibility for new accommodations didn’t exist, and we all had no choice but to stay. Needless to say we didn’t sleep, and couldn’t wait to leave St. Louis. Finally, I would have to agree with other reviewers that it seems that the reviews for this hotel are pumped full of fake reviews…

My boyfriend and I stayed here the weekend of May 13. (I thought I made the review already but I guess not). Our room was HORRIBLE. Absolutely not worth the $175 we paid! Upon entry, the room was cold and it was a warm weekend so that wasn’t too bad. The air conditioner could absolutely use a tune up as it would run and then cut off before reaching the set temperature. The curtains were ripped in the main room and in the bathroom. What is that about? The sheets and towels had stains on them. There was no soap in the bathroom. The icing on the cake: WE DIDN’T HAVE A WORKING PHONE! God forbid there was an emergency and our cells didn’t work. The cord was attached to the phone and the wall but the phone did not work. I called down to the front desk (from my cell, of course) and the rude guy told me “The manager will be here 10 am. She deal with this.” Excuse me? No offer of a new room, new towels, a working phone. He did offer to bring soap but of course he never did. Luckily I always pack soap when I travel but I need to make a habit of packing towels as well because who knows if they actually wash the towels, or sheets for that matter. They made sure to slide a bill under our door tho. I went to speak with the manager the next morning but she moved as slow as possible assisting the customer in front of me and never even acknowledged me upon entry. Holiday Inn is going downhill. I am very disappointed and will not return.

Had a reservation booked and let them know I have a Service Dog with me. No issue at time of booking. Get there to check in as was told it would be an additional $250 deposit to have my SD with me. Was told if there was no sign of dog in room I would be refunded. I explained she was a long haired dog and would shed which was out of my control. Spoke with manager and asked him where that notice was and he said he didn’t have to tell me where it said that. He said it was holiday inn policy. I called another holiday inn and the lady said she had never heard of that. So clearly the manager was just trying to get and extra $250 from me.
