On a warm summer evening we enjoyed our drinks and dinner here. The wait for food was lengthy but our great waitress wisely told us up front and kept us informed. It was pleasant being outside by the water and the food was delicious. Salmon and smoked mackerel starters, with the best fried fresh haddock I've had in a long time. Lots of interesting beer and drinks choices too.

Very comfortable and welcoming place. Right on the water front, but there is construction right now so no outside seating. Nice menu, not overwhelming but something for everyone. We had the chowder, the mussels and fries, and the burger. Food was phenomenal. Everything was expertly seasoned and prepared. Enjoyed a red wine flight, which was a bargain, with three very good selections to savor. A gin and tonic variation was also just right. Service was fun and friendly. Prices very reasonable for the quality and quantity.

The food and service here was great. The waitress recommended a pale ale that was the best I've ever had. Then she recommended chicken tenders and I laughed at her. She explained that she wasn't joking and that they were made with 13 spices and it makes them delicious. We ordered it, and she was right. First time as an adult ordering chicken tenders, but it was well worth it!

We had an excellent tasty meal with their seared scallops. Nice environment with views of the harbour. Work is ongoing to refresh the boardwalk and Patio. It looks like it will be spectacular when completed in several months. Service, was great, food came out in good time and was hot.

A friend was raving about the buttermilk chicken tenders so we had to go and try them. They were amazing, pretty sure they were hand dipped chicken thighs. And the fries were great too! Waitstaff was super nice and they took care of us well. The restaurant atmosphere was really nice too.

Nice ambiance, loved the brick walls. I'm sure the view is lovely but we got there after dark. I got the roast beef and mash and my husband got the chicken protein bowl. Both were very good. Prices are the same as everywhere else. Service was awesome and quick.

I can not put into words how much I loved the food. I wanted to order my salmon again to have more have the first bite. It was so good. Molasses on salmon!!! Order it !! The drinks were amazing too! My buddy order's the same drink everywhere and he said this was one of the best he ever had. As someone who eats everywhere from Niagara falls to St Jphn. This place is easily in my top 3 all time. EAT HERE !!!! It puts Montreal and Toronto restaurants to shame!

The Giant Fish and chips were amazing, same for the salmon dish. The shaved prime rib is a hard skip. There was no escaping the gravy. This wouldn't be a problem if the gravy had any other flavor other than salt. The prime rib was so tough and full of fatty deposits not cooked right at all. The worst steak dish I have had in a long time. I gave this place a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because over all it was a good place to visit with a great atmosphere.

An amazing highlight from my visit to Saint John! One of the best dining experiences I had in Canada, this restaurant is a must go. My server was super friendly and attentive. The drinks were pricey but good, and most importantly the food was delicious! The salmon was super tender and the fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place!

I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Everything about it is great. Excellent food, huge beer selection, not too loud. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I stopped by on my way into town, craving some Fish and Chips for takeout and the the SJAH did not disappoint. The service was friendly, and the food was even better.

Very impressed with this restaurant. Staff is extremely friendly. They allow dogs on the patio area. Highly recommend. I had the fish and chip picture included, the fish took half of the plate.

The food is mediocre at best. The prime rib dish we ordered was a mess, bitter popover, overcooked beef, and grainy mashed potatoes. The fish and chips we ordered was literally a fried flour stick, for around $20 you get soggy fries and ONE piece of fish. AND! You know what's even more surprising? Their grilled caesar salad was literally a WHOLE LETTEUCE! For over $10 I'm getting 1 whole letteuce and the least amount of sauce I've ever seen on a salad. Plus I asked for no cheese, but guess what? Cheese on top. Would give zero stars if I could.

Great food, service was good, atmosphere is a little dingy. Best fish and chips Ive had so far. White raspberry, rhubarb cheesecake is really good.

Good food, friendly staff. Under construction at the moment so the patio is a bit of a wreck.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a late dinner, drinks, and dessert and had a great time! The server, Caleb, was very kind and extremely accommodating and we loved the drinks and crème brûlée! Thank you!!

Amazing experience. The staff was so nice and helpful. They had tons of knowledge on the beer and food. Definitely a must for travellers! The patio has an ocean front view and the upstairs dinning area has a spectacular view of the down town waterfront. For the food, 10/10. We got the shaved prime rib and added onions, cheese and scallops (yum), my hubby got the 12 oz steak with mushrooms and onions and of course had to make it a surf and turf by adding more scallops. The cost could not compare to how good the food was. Worth every penny. Will definitely be back !

Went here after a long day of driving and we wanted to get food that was near our hotel. Got in pretty quickly and it was busy on a Saturday night. It looked like one server hosting a bunch of different tables, especially a big party of 14. He did pretty well considering I heard him say he's still new to the job. We both ordered the fish and chips and it was pretty good! The portion size was huge. I ended up taking mine home. We also got gravy on the side for the Fries which was delicious. It would have been 5 star, but it was hot and humid in the restaurant.

Very nice vibe, great waitstaff...food however did not meet hype and expectations...Fish & Chips Haddock was soggy although size was huge, mashed potatoes excellent, salmon average, smoked makerel starter was good, pork bites rather fatty. Cocktails inventive but miss the mark a bit.

Great beer selection. Awesome bartender and tour guide Steve! Warm comfy hang out space right on the quay. Will stop again.

A wonderful cellar pub venue, (there is also an upstairs dining room) with friendly and attentive staff and excellent food and drink. There was live music while we were there and the atmosphere was happy, happy happy! Totally enjoyable.

Everything was awesome including the staff...asked our server Gabriel for a recommendation for a good dark beer and his suggestion was spot on. Great ambiance and even better food

Server and cook staff modified meal without hassle. Friendly staff. Halibut was not over cooked and had a nice crust. Scallops were seared nicely. Wide selection of unique beers on tap.
