Staff was super nice, but the motel itself was just awful. There was a hole in the bathroom door, mold all over the tub & a used facecloth hanging from the curtain Rod. The beds box spring still had the packaging on it, the head board was just sitting on top of the box spring, not attached at all. The bed was so uncomfortable, the tv didn’t work nor did the box it came with. Im leaving this motel feeling stuffy, unable to breathe without having to cough. We were going to stay 2 nights, however we checked out as soon as we woke up from the first night and left. Pretty much wrecked our vacation. Overall a terrible experience, only good thing was the friendly staff.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I’ve stayed in a lot of cheap motels this way by far the worst. The rooms are filthy, there was no curtains in the room, no toilet paper stains on pillow cases bugs in sink drug paranphenalia in drawer burn marks on floor, fire alarm hanging from ceiling with black tape over it. I am itchy now. Homeless guy was sitting infront of our door when we got back to room tattoos all over face with his bike knocking at our door. Was wakened up at 3am to someone trying to kick doors in I was terrified this went on for quite awhile. I almost called police. A female voice shouted “as if you didn’t hear us kicking at the doors don’t lock us out again I should smash everyone of your car windows.” Called the front desk multiple times but no one answered. Left as soon as we could next morning. safety concerns at this motel do yourself a favour pay the extra money and find somewhere safe where you can actually sleep.

The room was very dirty (windows, floor, bed). We cheked the bed for bedbugs but there were none, so we stayed the night. My boyfriend is now covered in bed bugs. I would not recommend staying there, the only positive thing was the friendly staff when we arrived. I tried to contact them to advise them for the bugs, but it's impossible to reach them nor leave a message.

The Hillcrest has some issues, but one must take price into consideration, i could see room for many improvements. Saying that, the rooms were big with kitchen facilities in the room, the management is very new, and Kashish was extremely helpful to us as we had a special situation. Location in St John did not matter as everything in St John is only a 15minute drive. i can see work going on in the motel so i am sure they will improve. For the price do not expect the world, and if you are used to five star locations you will be sadly disappointed. it does seem people whom think they are five star traveller on a 2 star budget would be the one whom complain.

How to expand your motel as per the Hillcrest motel owner. 1-buy the stinky moldy next door house. 2- get furniture at the dump. 3 ask your cousin who has never touch a tool in his life to do renovation. 4- make sure that window has no screen so with the mosquitos you can open them, no air conditioning, no sound proofing and no ventilation fan in bathroom.

Bed bugs in room 9 about 7 months ago. Last week when we were advised by staff that they were still working with that issue still. When we asked if we could check room 10 before for bes bugs before we rented it, the staff agreed but after we.checked the room, staff would not rent us the room. They said that we won't have a good night sleep because we were worried.abojt bes bugs. Hahahaha. What in the heck was that all about. Itchy scratchy,.dirty rooms ar Hillcrest Hotel.

Friendly check in, that where it ends. The rooms are just ok, a little smelly. The bed was filthy, we went to saint john and bought bedding. The grounds are dilapidated and un kept. There was a used syringe by our car in the am that was not there before. Nothing more to say! Don't stay here its just gross.

What a dump. I had reserved and when i showed up nobody answered the door. 3 times and 30 min later i just had enough. Some guy showed up sat on the front balcony and lit a joint. Ok i asked him is there anyone taking care of this place he was too buzzed out to know. We just left after waiting all this time. Evem the message box was full could not leave a message. Most likely il get charged on my card anyways but who cares i rather pay it and not stay there. Take my word for it its a complete dump. My wife did not want to stay neither. So you been warned. When you too lazy to take down chrismas lights by the end of August amd balconies have less paint sticking on the wood then aplied i dont even want to know if the sheets are cleaned 💩💩💩💩nasty nasty ....

DO NOT TRUST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS OR PICTURES THAT THE MOTEL GIVES, I would've put 0 stars if it was an option. The motel has very cheap blinds and beds. Has the interior of an abandoned house etc. A lot of things don't work like the remote and more. Way too many doors that can access your room from other rooms. Electric ports not beside the bed. Holes in ceilings, outdated structure, and bugs. The "river" view isn't visible, covered by plants.

Kitchen everything greased up barely some stuff to cook food toaster broken cofee machine crusty. Mirors Wonder if it ever got cleaned. Tv drips of unkown liquid everything dusty as hell. And again the smell. Let me tell you we Turned arround and asked refund after 12 hours drive ruffly. And we got lucky to find 1000 times better elsewhere for a little more. The only good point is the clerk at the desk gave us the refund. #Dontgothere

It was a small room, no air conditioning, it was very hot in there. It did have a good shower but the tub was gross. It had a tv and a fridgedaire.

Older motel that's clean but very dated. The beds were not great, and noise from other guests was not great. Fine on my own but would not stay here with family. It's cottage like and muskie The gentleman who was on the desk was very nice friendly and helpful

This is the Hellcrest motel 🤣, although nice advises from the host for going out in town. I wonder how this motel can be opened any longer. This place should be wiped out.

I am giving this Motel five stars for Service!! I have stayed at many motels / hotels in my travels and as far as a Motel on a Budget is concerned, this little place worked just Great! My room with Kitchenette, was lovely and clean and comfortable. Nick was AMAZING! He looked right after me and made sure I had everything I needed to make my stay (9 nights) here very comfortable. I have family business here every month, and this is my new place to stay!! The Hillcrest Motel is Affordable, Comfortable, Quiet, and has the BEST Service I could ask for! Thank you Hillcrest and thank you Nick!!

The motel seems to be in the middle of renovations. The entry to the room we rented was only partially finished. There was exposed insulation and unprotected outlets in the entry way. The room was very hot. We were given an additional fan to help move the air in the room, but it didn't help. The noise of the fans did make it harder to hear the people walking around in the room above us. The bed was very hard and made a lot of noise when you moved. The pillows given were very thin. (we should have asked for additional pillows, but were getting into the hotel at 10:00pm and were just too tired). The bathroom was decent, but also in the middle of renovations. The ceiling was incomplete. The room was clean, and the location was not fairly quiet.

Staff were nice. I had blood stains on my pillow the bathroom door and the shower curtain. Someone tried to knock down my neighbours door at 1am and had to call the cops who never showed up. Lastly garbage truck came at 3am and was loud.

People deserve to be informed. This place is awful, probably unsafe. We had to call the police because someone was clearly abusing a child in the room beside ours and arguing very loudly. Read other reviews, this place is known for bedbugs as well.

crazy fighting at end of the hall for a lot of the night. thankfully you couldn't hear them when in your room. shower curtain has mold. ceiling fan in room had so much dust on it. I was afraid to take my boots off

For the price it's perfect! 4 stars only cause I wanted to sleep in my sleeping bag. Hahaha The kitchen was awesome. The broken window charm was strong. Great for the price. Stay here ya know you wanna.

I really liked staying here. We stayed here for 2 days and had no complaints regarding anything. Kashish is really helpful. The service was great and we were provided with everything we asked for. The prices are reasonable too. The room and washroom were clean and tidy. So, if you are looking for a reasonable and great service with clean room, you must try it. Kashish is doing great job :)

Zero stars should be an option. Absolute disaster. Toilet was broken, the fire alarm was loose on the end table, clearly not working. Ants crawled over my pillow. The fridge was clearly rotting from smell and the brown coloration. When these issues were pointed out to staff, they denied anything wrong with the fridge, tried to offer a second room with no other accommodation. That room also featured a clearly rotting fridge that they denied having anything wrong with it. I was there for all of three hours when I noticed all of these issues. I decided to leave and staff initially refused to refund anything before we finally settled on a cancellation fee that I accepted just to get out of there. Worst motel experience ever, this place is a health hazard and should be shut down.

I spent 5 hours in that room and was covered in bug bites. They need an exterminator to go and clean the place up.
