I had a terrific stay. The hotel is elegant, clean, and attractive and was quiet for sleeping throughout my 3 day weekend. The bed was extremely comfortable - a perfect combination of firm support and softness. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay again. Alright. Not really worth the money though to be honest. Me and my girlfriend stayed one night in a king suite and had some issues. I'll start with saying the staff were wonderful and very nice. I have no complaints about the service aspect of the stay. Great front desk staff. When we arrived, our initial room gave the impression it wasn't cleaned very well, then we discovered a full trash can of garbage including pizza boxes. The front desk staff quickly moved us to another room. After some issues with they key cards, we got into our second room which seemed cleaner. We did unfortunately end up finding used coffee grinds still in the coffee maker in this second room giving us again an unclean impression. The shower and bath are nice, but be prepared to let the shower run for about 15 - 20 minutes before you actually get hot water. Bed was hard and a bit uncomfortable and the breakfast we both ended up throwing out as it was cold and very salty. It also was not very appealing to look at. Overall, I would recommend a cheaper hotel instead, although the staff were wonderful, the hotel was subpar.

The nicest people I have ever encountered. Amazing service. Rooms are crazy clean. Well kept. The owners and the people who work here take care and great pride in providing clean and spacious accommodations. Absolutely loved it. A big surprise .

This was my only time ever staying here. Staff was friendly and accommodating. However, Two and a half hours after check in our room was still not ready. When we got to the room the AC unit was on the blink. So faced with sleeping in a 24 C room, we put the AC unit on heating and wrapped it in towels to defrost it. 2am we finally brought the unit back to life and from then on we were able to keep the room cool until check out.

This hotel is not worth your money. The bed mattress is hard, but the rest of it is okay. There was no microwave in the room although I heard that there is one in the front desk There is a small coffee machine, but we found ours not even plugged in the wall when we arrived. There is no safe either, despite some listings saying so. There do seem to have a spot for it, but it is not there. There is a lack of plugs available in the room, especially near the bed, there was none available there. The television only has very low quality video and is extremely slow in the menus. There is about 50 channels available, On Demand content, and an "adult zone". The wifi in our room was barely usable and extremely slow. Only 1 Ethernet plug was available in the entire room. The fridge in our room was unable to keep itself cool enough. The glasses had dust on top of them so I assume our room wasn't properly cleaned before we arrived. There was also a ton of dust in the bathroom ventilation, like an abnormal amount of it. The rolling chair was difficult to get higher, I assume it was broken of some sort but eventually we managed to at least raise it a bit. Curtains may let a bit of light trough since they can't close completely The breakfast needs to be ordered 1 day in advance for some reason. They ask you at what time you'll wake up but you can not respond to it but it'll take more time to get it ready. There's not much available else than the ordered breakfast. At the day we ordered the breakfast, the sandwich breakfast was not available, so the 1 day early ordering was useless. The entrance is the only thing that's worthy of a 4 star hotel, if Google is even right about it.

We stayed here at the hotel for two nights during our visit to Saint John. Though the hotel rooms looked a bit old, they were immaculate. The beds were comfortable. The AC stopped working the second night and they changed us into another room immediately. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. By far the best continental breakfast I've had in any hotel in Canada. Highly recommend this.

I have stayed for one night. But it was one of the best ones in Canada. The service was perfect. It was very clean. The people that they work are very nice and they like what they do. It affects customer’s psychology in good way. I really appreciate the lady who serves at hot food at breakfast. I really advise you to stay.

Rooms are large and spacious. Location is ideal for access to freeway. Advertised as non smoking hotel, but we noticed otherwise. The breakfast is the best part of this hotel. Staff are amazing and food is great.

Very friendly staff. Young lady behind counter exceptionally helpful in directing us to hospital. Dining room staff very professional. We would definitely recommend this hotel, easy to find coming of the highway and close to Regional Hospital.

Didn't know where we would stay in St John. Was the first place we seen and stopped in. Stayed for 4 nights. Paid day by day as we didn't know how long we would stay. Room was superb. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Fresh towels everyday. Staff was beyond wonderful from front desk to cleaning crew. Trudy the kitchen queen chats with everyone and is caring. If you need a place to sleep and feel at home this is the place. Will certainly come back for a real vacation soon.

There was a noticeable odor in my room, The water cooler in the gym was empty, Only one Microwave in the entire hotel, Food from previous guest was left in the room above the safe (arguably difficult to find unless you were looking on top of the safe), Internet was not usable for conference calls (too slow and kept cutting out completely). Might be ok if all you were looking for is a place to sleep

We booked the room online through Expedia enroute from Nova Scotia to the U.S and got a 25 % discount. The hotel was easily accessible from the highway. The room was very spacious and spotless and all the staff members we interacted with were super friendly. Breakfast was included with a good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. And we highly appreciated the heated and secure underground parking as we were travelling with a lot of luggage which we did not want to bring up to our room. Highly recommended!

Some of the most hospitable staff of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Hotel is clean, cozy and has a home away from home feeling. Front desk is always there to help any of your needs and questions, the room attendant’s do a fantastic job and have great attention to detail. Waking up to the hot breakfast is also great. The servers and quality of food are above average and always served with a smile, and a great way to start your day. If you’re planning a stay in Saint John, the chateau is by far the best choice for having a feeling of being at home when on the road. I have nothing but positive things to say about this location and would highly recommend.

Really nice place to stay while in Saint John, New Brunswick. Close to a lot of attractions, free parking, service is great. Would stay here again. Rooms were a bit dated but very very comfortable. I found they were quite cozy rooms.

A fine hotel; large reviews, helpful staff, top notch breakfasts (no powdered eggs, large coffee cups). Everything in the room works; no switches that don't do anything, furniture/fixtures in bathroom are of good quality, and large rooms. There was a small thing they provide that almost no other hotel does: light fixtures (3 way in this case) that are bright enough to actually read a book with. Our room did not have a microwave, but there was one next to the front desk in the snack area that I used. During our stay, on one day the hotel was full and the parking lot was almost full. They have an underground garage though that I did not try to use; I always found a space in the above ground lot. There was no problem with parking the next night. The only drawback is that though this hotel is only about a mile from the central downtown area, it is situated in an area that is not very walkable due to being surrounded on two sides by two medium sized traffic arteries. Walking to downtown means crossing those streets, and then a bridge over a freeway and a railroad line that has narrow sidewalks; pedestrian crosswalks are not marked and cars don't seem to pay attention to walkers This of course is not the hotels fault, an otherwise great hotel.

First time staying there. The clerk at check in was very grumpy and when we got to our room, the door wasn't actually latched which was a bit weird but the room was clean and untouched. Super comfortable beds.

Clean and well kept hotel with a flair of heritage in their decor, but some modern touches. Adam at the front desk and Trudy serving breakfast truly went out of their way to ensure guests are well looked after and enjoying their stay. About a 10 min walk from uptown (downtown), it’s a little bit out of the way, but reasonably accessible without too much hassle. The entrance/parking lot is a bit confusing depending on which way you’re coming in, but all in all, a lovely place to stay while in Saint John.

This morning, our band was treated to an amazing breakfast host, Trudy! She was so friendly, hospitable and helpful. I wish we could send pictures here. She had me laughing and feeling wonderful by the time we finished (and even a to go box for breakfast sandwiches she made). Give her a raise… made the first part of our Tribute Show tour memorable… thank you again, Trudy!!!!!! From Rob and the rest of our Crew

I stayed in the Chateau last week and it was a great experience. Unbeknownst to me at the time of booking, Chateau Saint John is actually a 4-Star Hotel and they sure work themselves up to that expectation. The entire experience was exceptionally quiet and comfortable; great value too since I only spent $146 before taxes for one night. Out of the many hotels I stayed in NB, I can honestly say that I have the peace of mind to submerge myself in their bath tub because I know they did their job.

breakfast was not bad. but you have to order it a day before. You don't know what you crave for the next day. no McDonald's-style waiters. the rooms and the decoration very 80's. The maid cleaned my room and if she found any of my belongings on the floor, she left them there, they were my keys, cell phone charger and socks. I highly doubt he vacuumed my room.

The staff blew us away. From Theresa to Tara to Trudy gave 5 star service. We have never seen service like this before. This is a reflection of the amazing management of this superb facility. Rooms were top notch as was the cleaning team. WOW!!

Stayed a night in Jan, 22. Very clean. Did not realize until checked in that there is also a heated underground garage (it was downright warm, and very well lit/dry down there). Good staff--would definitely stay again.

This hotel is top notch! The room was large and beautifully furnished. But it was the staff that was the real shining stars. From checkin to breakfast in the morning. Awesome group!

Really accommodating and great staff - like the rest of the Chateau hotels I have stayed in however they really need some upgrades. USB hookups for devices is top on my list ( no one uses the 1999 alarm clocks anymore ) most of the hotel seems to be updated regularly however the IT and technology is really lacking compared to equal star level hotels.

Outstanding place to stay. Room was very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. To top it all off there was underground parking on a snowy night!. We will be back in Saint John in six weeks and our room is already booked!

Great place on the outside and inside , service is wonderful but only a select few are awesome I will only go by first initial only S & T are awesome that's about it the rest have childish attitudes and actions make people not want to stay at this hotel , management is absolutely terrible I mean terrible , my young daughter could do better with eyes closed , childish attitudes from some of the workers scares the good workers and guests away ....do better or they will run your hotel into the ground.😡

The staff were very friendly. Room was huge and clean although a little dated. Parking on-site. Breakfast was small but adequate. We walked into town- the location is perfect. For a one night stay I was very happy. Thank you to the lovely staff.

Extraordinary hotel! Traveling for sad reasons (visiting my ailing mother in hospital) the staff made us feel like we were home. They were incredibly warm and accommodating: Sarah, Erik, Tabitha, Heather, Ann-Marie, Linette, and all front desk staff were ready and happy to help us with whatever we needed, including providing a microwave for our room, a water jug with ice in the middle of the night and a late check-out to help take the pressure off a bad day. The staff are so friendly, I don't know if I would have noticed anything negative, they're just too good. We had a good rate, and were upgraded to the hospital rate so even the value was great. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds and pillows the comfiest. The breakfast/lounge is perfect for the daily hot breakfast served by the amazing Trudy, and her team, and is a great space to eat take out with an adult beverage served by Michaela of the front desk staff. The lobby/lounge is super comfortable and frequently populated with recent immigrants, everyone treated with courtesy and respect. Everywhere is spotless - housekeeping and maintenance are super responsive. Finally, the little snack market was well equipped with anything you might need and if it weren't, I think the staff would source it elsewhere just to keep the client. Will absolutely return.

This place is a dump. My boyfriend and I never get to go away so we treated our self to the Presidental Suite. We expected something special but boy were we in for a surprise. As soon as we got into the room we found it kind of outdated (but that's fine), then we noticed dirt on the bathroom walls, mold in the shower and a couch that belongs in the landfill. We asked for another room but the next one wasn't much better. First we found a charger plugged into the wall. It wasn't a typical phone charger, looked like a vibrator charger. This made us feel like our room wasn't properly cleaned. Then we found that the windows had paint peeling off them and so did the ceiling. We paid over 300$ for this hotel room. The breakfast was meh. The eggs were wet and cold, not many options and no where to sit. I had better experiences in a 3 star hotel.

Bit more pricey than its competitors in the area, but is 100% worth it for the clean and sanitary rooms. - Clean organized washrooms and beds - Eric provides exceptional service! - Free indoor parking Area’s for Improvement: - Usb port charging stations should be implemented. There should also be a charging station/outlet near the bed closest to the window. - Breakfast is self-serve, except for the hot foods area, which is not labelled and un-attended to, most of the time. This made it confusing to know if it was self-serve or waiter/waitress-served. Witnessed a waitress yell at a customer, like a criminal, for entering the hot/foods area, and the entire dining room heard. The hotel should hire more staff in the kitchen so the waitress doesn’t have to go back and forth in between the kitchen and the hot foods area… Or, make the hot foods area self-serve… - This same waitress didn’t know how to social distance. She got way too close to me without a mask, talking in my face, and couldn’t even catch a hint that I was uncomfortable. Tips for Customers: Have a mask handy when visiting the dining area just in case - No dogs allowed - Wifi crashes often, and is only suitable for simple Google searches. - Rooms should have a microwave

Absolutely a most satisfying stay! Check-in was friendly and efficient! Rooms are spacious and very clean. The quality amenities in the bathroom were appreciated as well as the plush towels. But I have to say, the beds were sooooo very comfortable! Free hot breakfast was satisfying and the staff was great! Much thanks to Trudy again! This is a hotel I could highly recommend as well as return to should I ever pass that way again. Thank you staff at Chateau Saint John for undoubtedly a pleasant stay!

If you're looking for a hotel that makes you feel like royalty, stay here! The room makes you feel regal the second you walk in! The bed was extremely comfortable & the pillows were really plush! The bathroom was so extremely clean as was the room! The breakfast was eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, toast, muffins, english muffins, juices & really good coffee! One of the best restaurants I've ever stayed at. The staff was also very accommodating & kind! Highly highly recommend!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very cool historic property. I found everything had a great balance maintaining the history but keeping it upscale and modern. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast staff had enough energy for the whole room and were very fun. Also the breakfast was very good

The hotel staff is amazing! Everyone was kind and helpful, I felt welcome. Rooms are roomy :) they are old timy but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. I've head more lawish selections, but I can't complain. They had everything a decent breakfast needs. Location wise, the immediate neighborhood is a bit crude, but Uptown is only a 7 minute walk away. Granted the first two minutes are awful, walking the narrow sidewalk of the bridge over Route 1. But after that, it's Saint John!

I’ve stayed here three times. This really is just a damn good hotel. Spotlessly clean, a good hot breakfast, a decent gym/fitness centre, and very friendly staff. Lots of parking and very centrally located close to downtown and near the Saint John Throughway, the main freeway through the city. Depending on when you stay it can be in the higher end of the price spectrum, but it still represents a very good value. Fridges in the rooms are a great touch as well. Tons of towels in the bathrooms and nice massaging shower heads. A lot of hotels could take lessons from Château Saint John.

This hotel was fantastic dealing with our family during a hard time. A family member was in the hospital for an unknown amount of time. The hotel allowed for us to continue booking the room as we went along with the stay. And allowed for us to have a late check out when we found out they were leaving the hospital. We had to get new keys and they had them ready right at the front desk for us as we walked into the hotel. The kitchen staff that ran the complimentary breakfast was absolutely fantastic. I can't remember her name but she asked everyday to see how our family member was doing. Made our stay very enjoyable even if we were there on bad circumstances.
