One of my favorite churches in the world. This place has a soul! A modern architecture full of symbols: the Renaissance stained glass from the old church destroyed during WW2, the nave shaped like an inverted boat hull, the fish shades. Even if you don’t believe in the myth of Joan of Arc, you are touched by this building.

OK, this is the historic spot where Joan the Arc was burned at the stake, but in my humble opinion they could choose another architectural style. Joan the Arc Church is an ultra modern church made of concrete, glass and wood standing in the middle of a medieval square with half timbered houses and cobbled streets all around. It looks like an UFO crashed on the square. Adding more to its quirky design is the fact that under the other part of the same roof is a marketplace with fish, meats, fruits and vegetables stalls. That's in fact the old market (Vieux Marche) from medieval era. Interior is very nice, also modern, and I saw such Churches in Berlin, Helsinki, Rio,..etc, but here such design just doesn't fit

The church is located in the area where Saint Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake. There is a garden and monument just outside of the church. The shape of the church is quite interesting and really different. We had a quick look inside and it is very modern looking. It does have a really nice stained glass behind the altar. Worth the stop if you are in the area looking at the other historical buildings.

A modern church , commemorating joan of arc, who was burned to death in this square. The outside is great, almost in tge shape of what I imagine Joan's helmet to be. The inside has tge original 15th century glass inserted into tge windows, and on tge day i went , it was stunning awe inspiring. If you are in Rouen do go and see it (it does shut for lunch, be warned 12-2pm)

From the church you see the cross planted to mark the spot that Joan of Ark was burned.

Nice, calm and cooling on a hot day. For a modern church it has a great feel about it. The slate roof is awesome.

Beautiful church in Rouen. The front gate was closed, but we can come in through the exit door next to it. No ticket is needed, but the had a little box near to the exit door for charity.

Located in a beautiful square next to the old market is located the Church of Joan of Arc. The shape of the building resembles a helmet and inside has16th century stained glass.

A very nice and historical site, worth visiting. And close to a marketplace. It is a unique style of catholic church with the monument to remember of Joana Darc, plus it says there was the place where she was sadly killed. Isn´t the most beautiful place around, but it is safe and worth all to feel the history that happened there.

Visiting St. Joan of Arc’s Church was a stunning and significant experience. It is absolutely beautiful. We went early in the morning with dramatic cloud covering. Witnessing the location where St Joan of Arc was burned at the stake was emotional.

Our guide was fascinating as he relayed the tale of St Joan of Arc. The church built for her memory is rather modern but has many features in the architecture that relates to her life. This part of history was definitely a highlight of our trip to France 🇫🇷.

The historic church dedicated to St. Joan of Arc fell into disrepair and was replaced by this soaring tribute to light and Jean D'arc in 1979. The location where Jean was burned at the stake is in the courtyard next to the church marked by a very tall cross.

Interesting curvy boat like structured architecture. Built only 50ish years ago!

I only went here as a tourist, but it is one of the most interesting buildings I have seen. Very calm in mid city, but stunning.

Truly worth it! We had to wait till 14.00 for the church to open, but wow. We were impressed by its interior design. Be sure to sit in the back and enjoy the silence and beauty of the place, amidst bars and restaurants on the square surrounding the church.
