One of my all time favorite places but alas their prices are now simply too high. Beautiful location, nice friendly people, excellent food, good service but the cost is unfortunately not in my value driven budget. On some very special occasions it will remain on my favorites because of the many wonderful memories it holds. We miss the days when Conrad was at the helm! I. Still hear the wonderful pianio music during Sunday brunch provided by the lady who spent years adding to the unequalled ambience of this very special treasure!

Group of 4 adults; 2 were vegan We had very high expectations given the reputation of the Handfield Inn and their posting on the website of vegan options. We attended before covid and it was an amazing time experience. First, $40/person for poor food quality, very small portions for the condiments & bread. As well as many of the items were/seemed store bought. The vegan options were very little as well as not related to traditional Cabane à Sucre at all. We were all very disappointed and did not eat well. The tire de l'erable was on ice instead snow, it was grainy and the customer service was almost subpar, considering the employee barely spoke to us. We were expecting much more! For all these reasons we will not be returning.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Handfield Inn at the beginning of the month of October, looking for a safe place to visit due to the pandemic and restrictions in place every where. And what a treat it was! This Inn/Hotel is an absolute gem! The staff was courteous, welcoming and most forthcoming in providing information about activities to see/pursue in the area. The Fall colours were at their most spectacular and driving through the small villages along the Richelieu River was just wonderful. We had several outstanding meals during our stay, one at the Inn itself--which boasts a superb kitchen and chefs--and another across the river at a gourmet restaurant. Overall, a 5-star++ stay. The breakfast at the Inn is just one of the best that we have ever had anywhere. The rooms were quiet, clean and have been fully renovated recently. The view of the Richelieu was also spectacular, with wonderful sunrises. A 'must-stop' property if you intend to visit this region.

Great location and historic backdrop. We had brunch here and the choices were plenty. It's a rustic place filled with pictures, fixtures and furniture from today and past. It's quaint but a little dated for my taste.

Held my wedding reception at the Auberge 23 years ago, thanks to Mr. Handfield. .may he RIP. Back then the food, ambiance and service was superb! Plus every New Year's day dinner celebration was a family ritual in my ex-spouse family. Although the marriage did not last, I enjoy going back with my children & family for Sunday brunch. Good things are hard to pass up and forget! After 23 years..still great food, ambiance & staff! ♡

Dining room at hotel was expensive but quiet, good food. Dinner for 2 was more than we paid for boat slip outside. Wish we could have eaten at The Terrace but when we went inside they said only open on Sunday. Maybe the bar, by the pool, is open during the day?

We went for a wedding menu tryout. The food was great and they had a good choice of wines. I can't say much about prices since it was offered to me and my fiancée to help choose what we would serve our guests at our wedding, though for people coming with us a fee of 40$ was charged. The place looks appealing to me. It has a rustic style and classical music was played softly during the meal, wich I found to be pleasing even though I am not a fan of classical music in general. Overall a nice experience. I would recommend it for a couple or family with no infants.

Nice authentic cabane à sucre atmosphere. Due to the extreme cold couldn't enjoy the woods and the terrain outside the dining halls. I feel like it was a tad overpriced for the quantity of food we got but everything was delicious. The vegetarian menu has fish... That i found odd. I guess during reservation you should ask them to omit it if you dont eat meat (it was a friend's plate that was veg)

They changed their after checkout policy, and once checked out, you can’t stay on the premises anymore to enjoy the pool, jacuzzi, spa or any other amenities. It was our 4th year in a row and Auberge Handfield and to find out at 11 am, after spending the night, that you are basically being kicked out, without any prior notice of such a big change in policy, which is also highly unusual of a policy for the industry, was extremely unsatisfactory. We always stayed until the late afternoon to enjoy a snack or meal by the pool, after checkout, as our last day activity, but this was nonsensical and required a low review. Their reasoning was that they had a lot of other customers that came to the marina docks and couldn’t keep clients past checkout … although the pool and the lounging premises were completely empty. It was sad to be told that since check out, you aren’t considered a customer anymore and they prioritise potential marina customers over you. Anyhow, Auberge Handfield felt like a traditional escapade for my wife and I, but this fourth year in a row will unfortunately be our last. We
