Very enjoyable stay here. We stayed in the prestige double which had a balcony. The decor of the room was very shabby chic so was the rest of the hotel. It was just 5min walk into town...perfect. lovely hotel.

Generally, a nice little hotel with very friendly staff who spoke good English and were very accommodating. They sorted out parking right behind the hotel for us - €5 a day. Breakfast was nice; cereals, egg & bacon, breads, fruit. Lovely little terrace to relax on in the evening (although in the morning it always seemed to be locked). The bedroom was very disappointing and not like the photo. The photos of the hotel seem lovely - but there was no photo of the room we stayed in on the website at all… which is not surprising as the room was inadequate… The room was clean but very small for four adults with no where to sit/relax in the room - it felt cramped. One double bed in one corner of the room, with a small bunk bed in the far corner (see attached photo). Both beds were uncomfortable, particularly the bunk bed which would shake with any little movement. All four of us had back and neck ache… Very limited wardrobe space and no where to store shoes and suitcases. This might have not been a problem but the room was incredibly small, so having the luggage in the small corridor made the room cramped and claustrophobic. Good working aircon. Poor lighting. Poor location of charging ports. The bathroom was spacious and the shower nice.

Too small, food not included nor parking. Far from cheap for what it is.

Don’t be fooled by the quaint photo of the pastel coloured buildings next to the fishing boats. Martigues is not a nice place to visit and this hotel was not good at all. Service was poor, our room (the one with the dreadful bubble bath) was awful, the car park was apparently full but with only 2 cars when we arrived, there was no bar or food available in the evening. Generally, not a pleasant hotel or location. Best to avoid.

Lovely staff and very nice hotel. Room is small but perfect size for 2 people and very clean. Breakfast was also nice with a good choice! Very convenient location. Also, they have parking just behind the hotel which is very convenient for just 4euro per day.

Excellent price-performance! Nice rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. The location is perfect as you walk into town in 5min and to the beach in 10min. Have nothing to criticise.

Average hotel, we got the traditional room for 1 night after reading the raving reviews. The hostess was unhelpful and pretty much ignored us when we had difficulty understanding her, leaving us to figure the check in process out on our own. We were so close to leaving at this point but really needed a room for the night. But that's fine, maybe she was having a bad night. Then there were the rooms: I get the whole shabby chic bohemian idea but touching things around the room made me feel dirty. First, the room was tiny, two of us could barely walk around at once. The water ran cold, then hot, then cold. There was a layer of dust on some of the mantelpieces. The bathroom tiles were stained black and there wasn't even a bathroom door we could close to get rid of the unsightly dirty bathroom. When we checked out in the morning, we put on nice faces and smiled a nice goodbye but the receptionist barely even acknowledged us and just nodded. The service is one thing but the price they are charging for this tiny room with only 1 measly pizza place nearby for food is just ridiculous. I don't see what all the great reviews here are about - maybe they took the luxe room and had a different experience?

Nice spot with great rooftop terrace. We got an extra nice room (ask for the ones with a balcony) and the staff and breakfast were both very good. Takeout place for pizza across the way is Corsican, and amazing.

Very good location. There is a pizza place right opposite the hotel. There is private parking and a nice open terrace garden.

Found this hotel on Expedia whilst planning a last-minute road trip across France. It’s pretty much just a posh bed and breakfast and it was fantastic! Parking is extremely limited so please book this in advance, I didn’t do this so initially did not have a parking space for the first night. Luckily there is a public car park about 30 seconds away where you can leave your car. Unfortunately my car is a very new model in a unique colour with unique bodywork and drew unwanted attention from the one and only local maniac, prompting me to find somewhere else to leave it. The receptionist was fantastic in helping me to keep my car safe as this was my only form of transport to get home, despite me not having parking for that night, she went above and beyond to assist. Every single day she smiled and was chatty despite the language barrier, her English was very very good though. Breakfast is pretty good, scrambled eggs are lovely, bacon is lovely, pancakes etc. The room was on the smaller side but it’s all stated online, so no hidden surprises. Our room had an electric blackout shutter which was great for security being on the ground floor. Traditional key rather than a card for entry. Doors are locked up at night and an entry code is required so top marks for security. Beds pretty comfortable, pillows not the best but there are extra in the cupboard and you can make this work for you. Shower is excellent. It’s no Hilton or Ritz but it doesn’t claim to be. It’s a lovely little hotel with a nice roof terrace to chill out on. Pizza place across the road OR a 5 minute walk from a promenade with about 10 restaurants to choose from. Would definitely stay here again and a massive thank you to the lovely host, I don’t know her name but she wears glasses and has blonde hair for all her hospitality and for her help in keeping my car safe from the maniac.

Everything is small in this hotel, but great atmosphere, very friendly and helpfull personnel. Shower, toilet and bed are small but good. Location is good, 10 minute walk to city centre.
