Awful aquarium, small dirty tanks, animal welfare not a priority. I visited this aquarium today after visiting Oshima (which was great). This place literally made me cry. The tanks are way too small, most of them are filthy, and dont have plants, rocks, or anything to improve the environment. They have a huge sunfish in a small tank, the water is not clear and there is nothing inside. Its like they decided to reuse an old swimming pool or something. There was a big octopus in a tank almost the same size as itself, in the "touch tank" area, with no staff to supervise. The largest tanks were overcrowded, and some fish looked sick. One giant ray looked terrible, and kept swimming to the top and free falling to crash on the ground. I will certainly never come back here and i advise you not to come either. I dont know how anyone can visit this place and leave with a smile.

Pro tip: Make sure to buy your tickets in advance to get a 500 yen discount! The aquarium is relatively small, but I easily spent 2 hours here. They have turtles, dolphins, penguins, and many more! I especially loved the penguin area, as well as walking into the room with the tortoise enjoying himself. The staff was exceptional; you can see they take good care of their animals.

If you wish to enjoy one day in one place watching various shows as well as enjoying different kinds of sea activities right there, you should come here. DO BRING A PAIR OF CHANGE CLOTHES for everyone ( free of charge changing rooms and showers are available). I have been there several times and must say I never get bored. The prices are severe even at the restaurant on the second floor. You can penguin walking show and get to know more about various species life facts as well as watch wonderful dolphins, whales and seals performance all in rotation ever 13-20 min with a 10 min interval for you to move from one attraction to the other. I always thought of this aquarium as a well-organized place.

Aquarium located near Tojinbo, where we find a range of very interesting fish species. There is a show with dolphins at specific times. I found the entrance fee a bit expensive, 2000 yen per person, but, on the other hand, parking is free.

Small aquarium that kids can enjoy touching, feeding and interacting with sea creatures. The aquarium is a bit old and not very clean, can use some renovation. Animal space is small.

It's a small town aquarium. I can't speak on how animal treatment. Every country has different standards, it is what it is. I can only say the people that worked there seemed like they genuinely cared. It is kinda run down but literally right next to the ocean. It's going to erode faster. If you're in the area I think it's worth a visit.

It is very good for that area that is not that big, there are some areas where we can touch the fishes. It just feels like and old area

It wasn't bad or great. Smaller than Notogima by far and it cost about 2000 jpy at this time 2018. The cafe closes early but there are plenty of machines and a concession stand. Good for a date or to take a young child.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Check out the Dolphin show when it's on.

A fairly complete local aquarium that's great fun for the kids. Has a dolphin show, sessions with seals (allowed to touch) and penguins. Other attractions include feeding turtles, and small bridge to a small rocky island.

This place felt a little bit retro but was really good for kids with loads of touching pools. Had a decent array of sea life without any major draws, although the ocean sunfish by the entrance was my favorite.

It was heartbreaking to see. It’s one of those places where you feel sorry for the animals. The tanks are small, the whole place is old and it feels like they are trying to keep it running by selling overpriced tickets. It made me uncomfortable and sad, some fishes were showing obvious signs of stress, the emperor penguins never see real sunlight, the sea turtles are cramped and the tank with the big sunfish is way too small for that poor thing. Seriously, I wish there was a way to make them relocate the animals to better aquariums or sanctuaries.
