    It happened to be a decent place but off late the quality & quantity of its food and service has reached its lowest. My first bad experience was when the lunch that I ordered was delivered after about 2 hours (around 3:30PM). I had excused them as that was the first time I had a bad experience with them. However, recently when I ordered 2 full and 1 normal Rice and curry (chicken) they delivered 1 full and two normal while charging me as per what I had ordered. When I contacted the restaurant they apologized and told that they will adjust it when I order next time. The worst experience took place last week when I was away from home. I placed an order for 3 Full Rice and curry (chicken). Although the order was delivered on time and collected the payment for what I ordered, they had delivered only 3 packs of Normal Rice and Curry and 2 pieces of chicken with gravy in a bag. Which is 2 Rice and Curry (Chicken) Normal and 1 Rice and Curry (Vegetable) normal. How I knew that it's a normal portion is because I have been a regular customer and their normal portion is packed in a cardboard box while the full portion is packed in a regifoam box. When I returned home I found that nobody has eaten properly as there was not enough food. When I complained to the restaurant, I was told that they have delivered the order as per what was placed. Then I had to raise my voice due to frustration they realised that they committed a mistake. They apologized saying that they are unable to deliver any food at that time as it was already 4:00PM and they will compensate next time. There won't be a next time as I have had enough of their lame excuses. My conclusion is that, whoever goes to "Lal Qila" be prepared to waste your time and money. It was a good restaurant but not anymore. Probably the Management has changed or their attitude has changed once the business started to increase.

    I came here to place an order for dinner for my cousin's brother. Our tandoori-style main courses were delicious and packed with flavor, which is impressive for a non-vegetarian establishment. However, the service was above par, and a man with a beard who I assume to be the restaurant's proprietor smiled broadly to greet everyone. I was waiting outside to see if my cousin had ordered when we arrived at 7.40 p.m. the other day while it was raining. I was embarrassed to enter the building with the water because I was soaked. The preparation of our meal took 30 minutes. Okay, so the restaurant was barely halfway filled, but we didn't have a reservation. When the waiter asked if everything was ok, i said it's okay I'll stay out then. Seems like he really cares about the satisfaction of the people. But I said really didn't like the atmosphere and quickly I said 'That's funny, I love them' and that was it. Amd I was carefully looking after their clean and services. Yes it's average! The only things was pieces for the meal cannot afford by all people. Worth the price but the portion it seems lesser. Tandoori chicken rated 4.6 ⭐ Butter naan rated 4.4⭐ Lal special buriyani rated 4.5⭐ Kottu rotty all varieties rated 4.7⭐ Atmosphere rated 4.5 ⭐ Photographs rated 4.2 ⭐

    Ordered a chicken koththu from this place via uber.Chicken they used for it ,was rotten with a bad small. I'm not suprised to see similar reviews from others in the reviews section.Seems like they are continuing the same fraudulent practices regardless of the complaints.Never recommend to anyone.

    They cheat with price. Showed a menu with less price, and when billed, the price was 4 to 5 times higher. When highlighted, they had a thug like behaviour.

    Worst restaurant in terms of quality and quantity in kolonnawa. Some restaurants are slightly expensive because they provide quality food. Some are slightly expensive because they provide big portions. But this one here has nothing but a higher rate than the competitors. A basmathi rice was made of broken basmathi with a low quality chillie paste which are made by themselves ( no mashroom or chopsy) the quarter chicken was also not the size which others pack and obviously not tasty like the rice. There are no any single reason to select this restaurant for a lunch. Lets not talk about the bbq which far more worse than the fried rice. I dont know whether its true or not one of my friend said the biriyani is ok u can give a try. Im not gonna try after my bad experience. Just wanted to give this review just in case these guys see this and correct themselves so others can have a quality food if they unkowingly drop here for a lunch.

    Lal qila family restaurants kollonawa one of the most rude and apathetic management. We've ordered 4 kotthu and a fried rice kotthu stinks and we took the food back to them and they're saying it stinks but the food is good they're arguing with us that the food will be like this you have to adjust. We're paying money for them to eat a food that stinks. Worst management. Next time while buying food from this place think twice.

    Ordered few Beef Burgers from this place , the beef patty and the cheeses were spoiled and old . Couldnt even smell it because it was that old and spoiled . Not worth at all for the price . Had to reorder from another place because we couldnt eat what we actually orderd .Will not recommend this place to anyone again . Worsed food ever tried

    Got 2 sawaan biriyani. We went and collected the oder. The dish was dry and no taste at all just the fried chicken pieces were good.

    I would give this place an overall rating of 3 stars. Food is okay. The Biriyani here is great. But had a chicken cheese Kottu few days back, and it was horrible. Had to remind them to add chicken. On the other hand the atmosphere is not that great. The tables weren't cleaned well, and it had stains and spilled left overs.

    The first time I ordered a nasi goreng was full of vegetables but it was not bad. Today I went cause most of the restaurants were booked. My god I stayed there for about 45 minutes no a/c or fan also had so many mosquitoes there. I saw only a waiter who was busy with 3 set of boys whom he might have known or his friends. He didn't even bother about us. We stayed for a long time in front of him. He didn't even know how to handle customers also he had time only to talk with those people unnecessarily without doing his work. I waited for a long time until he comes and ask what would I order or he on the fan but he did nothing. It was really a waste of time n money. Also lal qila had only 3 customers inside the restaurant but still they didn't have a good customer service. Even the management isn't good.

    The prices are reasonable and the food is really tasty. Their 500 LKR Biryani is definitely worth the price with a large portion of rice and a large piece of Chicken too.

    I had a very bad experience with this restaurant. We ordered Chiken dolphine & Chicken kottu. The taste is bad. And the food color as well not gud. We were so hungry at first, but after tasting the food we regret alot

    I bought cheese kottu from this restaurant..that was worst cheese kottu i ever ate..very bad taste and bad smell,dried like a desert. It looks like a lot of vomit. Don't buy anything from this place.if you have child don't buy and give any food from this place..

    They were really good when they started initially, but after the business is developed, it seems like they dont really care about customers any more. And i have been a customer from the day they started. the food was good at the initial phase, but gradually, there were times where i had spoiled chicken , and food/taste/portian being not up to the standard etc etc. So if the owner sees this comment i would request him to change the name of the restaurant altogether, and start from scratch again, because the name lalqila has been spoiled alrrady. Therefor this would be the best strategy to go forward. Everyone makes mistakes, but the one who acknowledges them and solves them would be alive on the race. . Therefor, do not only keep the business in mind in future. When you give good quality food and good customer service the business would grow automatically. And put some qualified employees as well. Train them well to check the food quality, taste etc time to time. and train them to how to communicate with the customers etc. This is how you conduct a business. And this is how you would improve the business. If you think everything is going good just because the your daily profit is met. You will eventually loose everything one day. I think this is what happened in your case. So my advice would be to keep an eye on the customer reviews, the food quality, the ingredients quality whether they expired or not and the other issues that occur. Then you got to have a plan to mitigate them.
