The good: stunning views of the Corcora valley & great location at the top of Salento. The bad: everything else, most notably the plumbing. On arrival, our sink in the bathroom completely collapsed through the countertop. We had to switch to another room mid-way through the first night of our stay. Eventually we got back to our original room, and had major difficulties getting warm water from the shower, as well as flushing the toilet without any kind of refuse until the bowl. Worse yet, the toilet paper they provided was soggy and unusable — how is this possible in a hotel this well-rated?? The floorboards in our room were broken, and the secure lockbox completely missing any kind of locking mechanism. The WiFi is pitiful, and the breakfasts were mediocre at best, bad considering how much they charged for them at the end of the stay. The water from the hotel is also not drinkable, and they nickel and dime you for the bottled water they provide in the room, charging you extra for a basic amenity. Overall, we survived but this was absolutely not worth the premium cost they charge. I can’t recommend this place less. If you’re gonna spend this kind of money, go somewhere you’re gonna get better value.

Great hotel with friendly staff, a delicious breakfast and an amazing view at the mountains, valley and birds. When rainy, you can borrow an umbrella. Would definitely recommend!

Do you want to have traditional colombian breakfast while enjoying the best views in Salento? Book this place! Absolutely loved it.

Is a great hotel with nice view of the Valley but if you want to rest and relax avoid it. The hotel is under renovation and there's excessive noise all morning and afternoon. The construction starts at 7:30 am every day !! the bed feels also like a rock !!

Great staff and perfect rest after long days on our feet. Hammocks are amazing- wish we had 2 on our balcony so me and my husband didn’t have to keep fighting for it:)

We reserved the most expensive room. Overrated and overpriced!! The view is beautiful. That's it. You don't have to pay for the view...what we saw can be seen by just going to the lookout point, for free. The mattress is rock hard, the jacuzzi doesn't have hot water and the air conditioner doesn't really work. Beware: the water is not potable. It is yellowish and it smells....I don't think you want to shower with this water.

If you want to go for walks / tours, I would not recommend this place. To chill in your room it is ok though. The breakfast is a mess. Many people want to go on tours early and many start in the center of Salento at 8am or even a little before. The breakfast officially opens at 7:30. We were told the day before by the day receptionist we could have it at 7:15. Because everyone wants it early, they can't cope with the number of people arriving at the same time at 7:30 sharp. Some people went to the kitchen area to skip the queue (breakfast is made to order). We were the second to order and got our coffee at 7:47 am ! Had to gulp it quickly with the rest of the food (the food we eventually got was totally different from our order by the way) and run to the centre. Oh well... Breakfast staff is really nice but just can't handle a made to order for 20 people at the same time. Hotel should just shift the opening time earlier and pay the breakfast staff accordingly. The night receptionist who helps with breakfast is polite but absolutely unhelpful.

We visited Colombia for three weeks and the only bad experience we had with a person was here. Do not trust personnel at reception as they tend to give you incorrect and downright misdleading information It is a steep walk back from town but the view is magnifocent. Will not return though

One of my worst hotel experiences... leave the hands of it! We visited the hotel El Mirador del Cocora. During the road trip through Colombia we visited quite a few hotels in the same price range and we were nowhere as disappointed as there. On the one hand, we don't understand where all these good reviews come from.... not comprehensible. 1. it started already when we wanted to check in... in Colombia it is usual to check in at 15:00... but at 12:00 we were already there and the receptionist had said we can move into the room in a few minutes... so we went to eat something (the hotel offers nothing!) and came back at 13:30. Suddenly an unfriendly receptionist stood there and told us we had to wait... without checking anything... he said... the room is not ready yet... then we waited "a while".... at 15:00 the room was ready... "what a miracle"... so nothing to feel from customer friendliness.... he simply did not want to let us into the room before 15:00.... in my opinion a no-go 2. the room was not at all like in the pictures, it was dirty (so from 3 hours of cleaning there was nothing)... the bed was angular damp and small.... also hard like stone... it feels like lying on a concrete block.... several things were broken... Furnishings were flying off all the time... like the toilet paper holder.... no air conditioning (just a small fan).... Bathroom was dirty and very very small.... full of hair and mold... needs urgent renovation... Shower was spongy... Setting of the shower extremely inaccurate.... either you burned yourself or it was freezing cold (burned my hand EXTREMELY on it!).... Good things: electrical outlets right next to the beds and there was a hair dryer in the bathroom 3. the hotel was directly under reconstruction.... we were not informed about this... everything was a construction site... visually a disaster... a noise from morning till evening... egoistic workers shouting incessantly... the first morning we were already at 6 o'clock out of bed... as a ******* worker has shouted for 10 minutes non stop the same f******* sentence loudly next to our window through the entire hotel complex... like an alarm.... "what a performance!"... inedible sleep... in addition in front of our window was a scaffold erected... so we could not open the window at the beginning and always had to have the curtain closed... the only nice thing about the complex is the view... but due to the reconstruction not possible to enjoy or even see at all 4. service of the hotel is horrible... on the demand... if we needed anything in the room... no action followed... no new towels... nothing... the facility is in poor condition coupled with cheap construction.... on the last evening I even had the door latch in my hand.... for which I was charged 70 CHF... a joke... for a door that was already stuck at the beginning and was difficult to close... and a latch that was wobbly since ever Not my last time in Sorento (the city was very lovely and beautiful) but definitely in this hotel

Unfortunately dirty bed sheets.dirty towels with yellow stains which they tell you is because people take the towels to the thermal water park. I don't think this is a good reason. Tried to take a shower in the morning but no hot water available. I paid for four nights and stayed just once .decided to pock another hotel and not create too much drama.customer service was amazing. Javier from the front desk was incredible. That's why I didn't want to make a big deal . Hotel looks very nice.great views.

Loved our stay here! 10/10! We had a great view but I think even the rooms without the mountain view would be great because of all the seating areas (comfy chairs, benches, etc) both inside and out. Breakfast also blew away our expectations as it was full service with a great fruit plate to start.

My room need redecorating and better plumbing (I mean it isn’t a 5 stars you get what you pay for) The view is breathtaking and the staff lovely ✨

An amazing view and a very attentive staff does not compensate the very poor maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel facilities. Bad value for money.

I am giving this place 4 stars. I visited this place in the high season (January) and perhaps due to high price and the size of the jacuzzi I am not giving it 5 stars. Starting with the highlights - The views! WOW.. This felt like Swiss Alps without the snow capped mountains. I am sorry but I just could not get enough of the views and wish I would have stayed at least 2 days or more to fully enjoy the views. The room had a panorama and the views from the bed was the best I ever had - period. Secondly the breakfast and I am attaching a photo. It was room service / and included and I could not pick the best views in the entire country to have a breakfast in PJ. It was heaven. Next the shower had a glass wall and was facing the valley and the views were spectacular. Now the downside - the high price, but worse of all was the Jacuzzi size. This was a kid size jacuzzi since it was colder outside and when you sit in it the water covers you higher than the bellybutton. I mean its not called a jacuzzi - its some kind of a round sit your butt in hot water thing which was very disappointing since that was one of the desired highlight of getting this room. I was fighting a cold and wanting to be in hot water while enjoying the view was simply NOT possible - Bummer. That was it.. the small heater in the room was enough and since they had warm blankets we were cozy - room walls had automatic rolldown shutters thus you can be dark while sleeping while enjoy the view sitting in bed or having breakfast inside or outside on the patio. I would come back here but I would get another room with another deeper jacuzzi and stay at least two days to enjoy that majestic view. The town of Salento is awesome to walk - very authentic Colombian.

The absolute best view in all of Solento. The hotel is a "pay for what you get" kind of place--but that isn't a bad thing! The room was well appointed, and the staff was very helpful! Breakfast on the deck is spectacular and they accommodated out dietary needs as requested. Lovely stay! Just make sure you like walking up hills to get here! :)

Stunning views and friendly staff but beyond that some improvements are needed. It seems potluck if you actually get hot water in the shower or not. The breakfasts as well - should really give you more choice other than eggs. On the menu option they show you it says cereal but then you are told it’s only eggs, which gets a bit repetitive after a while.

Wonderful hotel. We got the room with the view of the valley and a jacuzzi located on the balcony. No complaints as it's in the town but far from the hustle and bustle so relatively quiet (this is Latin America folks, so people party don't expect serene quiet anywhere in town). The walk to the center of town takes about 10-15 minutes and is down a hill going, but up hill coming down. They only serve breakfast but there are some restaurants a 5 minute walk away.

Good, but some reconditionnings to provide Clean hotel and helpfull welcoming staff, but the louver in the bathroom were broken. When you know that the temperatures in Salento drop to 10°C at night and that the the room has no heating, we were very cold because of this wide-open window. The breakfast (served late, outside, even when it rains) also need to be inproved and does not match european tastes: no pastries, only bread which we had to wait for a very long time, so that we were forced to fetch cakes we had brought with us to the room. To point out the butler completely useless who comes with great fanfare to ask you your choices for breakfast and then forgets about you for good. On the 2e morning, we ate breakfast for a tiny price with the woman cooking at the little bus terminal, wihch was a very pleasant time and much more friendly.

I have an awful experience with this hotel. I had a booking on May and exact that day one member of my family died tragically so in this circumstances how can be possible to travel if you need to support your mom and members of your family. This trip was important because I have not seen my mom and dad in 4 years. so this trip was to enjoy with them. however, god had different plan for us. I requested the hotel to do an exception and perform a refund or maybe move the days. The hotel answer that they do not do any exception. my experience with the hotel is that they do not care the customer, pain, sadness. What you will receive from an hotel that is capable to ignore a painful situation like that. unlike this hotel, other. one accepted to not charge any cost for the reservation which for me is real human service. Later that day I check all options that this hotel provide as a rooms and all of them are total cost to cancel which they will take advantage for any inconvenience even though they did not do anything for you. What I believe of this hotel is that they take advantage of the people. in addition, I encourage you not to take this hotel in your plans, I will suggest you Hotel Campestre Santa Lucia which did not charge anything an provide me a nice email saying sorry for my lost.

The view from the common areas and the supreme rooms is superb, truly. But, the standard rooms are a bit poor, not clean enough and the showers are bad - low stream and barely hot water. The breakfast is very pastoral! Unbelievably beautiful, but not so tasty. Also, consider that you’ll need to climb a short steep hill in order to reach the place.
