We don't recommend anyone to stay at this resort. Especially if you don't speak portuguese. You will be shocked about the bad service, the even worst food and the shape of the room and infrastrures in general. It feels like for the last 30years nobody cared about the hotel. It is sad because it could be a nice place. The only satisfying thing of our stay were the pool/garden and the nice view on the ocean. We are not used to leave such bad reviews usually but here we want to make a point and hope that the hotel management and all the staff working at the hotel will improve the service and renovate the infrastructure.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. The rooms look like a cheap one star motel. The room has a strong smell of generic cleaning products, they are badly designed and the bathroom looks like a locker room of an old gym. Also, it's not possible to control the room's temperature. I do not recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in a fancy place.

I absolutely LOVE it here! Huge pros: 1.Great staff, warm and friendly, always helpful and smiling. 2. Beautiful setting, among old coconut and palm trees, soft spawling lawns, beautiful woodwork, terracota roof and an putdoor area to die for!! Soothing ocean views:)) 3. A cute animal farm for kids and kids at heart like me to entertain themselves..a family of 8 peacocks for that perfect Facebook picture! 4. The best Brazilian breakfast buffet I have eaten! 5. Sprawling swimming pool with fun water aerobics a few times a day. 6. Very good Covid 19 measures in place: mandatory mask wearing in all common indoor areas and disposable gloves to touch all breakfast buffet common utensils. 7. Barbara's masseuse right on the beach! What better vacation than getting an inexpensive full body right on the beach for $30/hour!! CONS: 1. Management can be a bit inflexible and still not quite customer oriented. One occasion they accidentally broke an expensive bottle of whisky while transporting it to my room. Never took accountability for it. My issue they said. Just yesterday I booked directly with them to get a promised upgrade (despite having 500k airline miles I could freely use ) .. to be told I had to pay extra for it (which I did it since I wanted a closer ocean view). 3. Hotel is in need of remodeling in all classes of rooms...balcony doors dont close, rust on faucets, old mattresses, old wooden on closets, tables and just an old outdated look all over the furniture.. So overall it all comes down to onr's preferences...the PROS for me are well worth the CONS....however that might not be the case for a lot of folks looking for a more stylish, sleek looking rooms.. I stay here whenever Im in town. Appreciate waking up in a quiet clean beach and just hang out there all day.

Catussaba resort itself has gone downhill since we been there 10 years ago. Rundown rooms equivalent to a bad 1 star American hotel. To make matters worse, they have a seemingly endless array of papers to print and sign for every guest in the party, making the check in terribly slow. Pools there are dirty. The only reward is the beach view but it's closed now for covid and they guard it like a prison to make sure noone goes there. A real shame. We have been there many times in the past and albeit outdated, it was worth the money due to the breakfast and view. Now, the breakfast is no longer fantastic, but pretty standard. My advice is to stay in Catassuba Suites which is their new hotel next door as it's nicer, newer (built for the 2016 Olympics) and the pool wasn't so rundown.

The hotel experience is awesome. Staff are very friendly but the rooms are in bad condition. (Bugs, rips in the walls) Amazing pool with direct access to the beach

Read the reviews before you make a reservation. “Full board” means you can sit down to eat only three times per day (or once per meal) or they’ll confront you. We ate a meal, swam, and then came back for dessert, and that was a no-no. If you can book a room with twin beds or a separate bed for each person, only then you’ll be able to sleep well. Sharing these mattresses makes continuous sleep impossible because you’ll be woken up by every movement. The mattresses are bad. It’s a good value for us because we are a 5-person family and we really loved eating and staying right by the pool and the beach and keeping everything within a resort for a few days. Just don’t expect a nice place like we did— it’s cheap, the staff is stingy, and you have to make the most of the pool time and beach time to make it worth it.

Very friendly....breakfast is varied and full. Rooms old but spacious though they are 3 star. 4 pools = 1 pool that has 4 sections but very useable on our visit. Great pool and beach seating. Perfect for a family that enjoy a chilled experience. No working sauna and jacuzzi must be invisible. Games room debatable. Restaurants and supermarket neaby. Lunch buffet available but R$70, but 6 years and under eat for free even if adult doesn't which was great for young family. I love this place and think they should sell their strengths rather than sell themselves on something they aren't or are no longer are
