Loved this place! Free entrance and the building it's very beautiful!

Super building housing lots of fine arts from the colonial era in particular. Free entry and there is a small shop with some excellent art books.

Amazing staff! They take the time to explain you the arts! They welcome you! Clean washrooms and free water! Free to enter! Nice mirador!

The date I visited 1/2 of the museum was undergoing a reset. It's actually a tiny facility barely taking 30 min. to experience. I'll return for the full museum...

Lovely and no entrance fee but 2nd floor closed which was...unfortunate.

Truly a must see! Beautiful exhibition and location is absolutely stunning. Go in the early evening to catch the sunset, eat a mouqueca at the por do sol bouteca with cacau pudding for desert.

I get upset when museums have major sections closed (like 50% or more) and they dont tell you. I also get annoyed when they say its a donation to get in... but you also dont realize the majority of the museum is closed before you get in. I work in museums and i support them and would pay/donate, but I don't like the illusion that its functioning, when its not. I'm sure its a lovely place but a sad excuse to be open for what was out.. did not get a sense of Bahia at all. at least the other museums (modern art and palace of arts) offered something and didnt ask for a donation.
