This is a very comprehensive museum. In learning about the nautical history you are very much learning about this history of Bahia, and Salvador. There is not free Wi-Fi but it does have a small launchonete and clean bathrooms. Great views if the mouth of the bay.

The fort/ lighthouse itself is a testament to the quality building as its still somehow standing to this day. Unfortunately I didn't make it inside so cant comment much but I did enjoy the sunset from arguably the best location in Salvador. Go just before sunset, grab a spot on the grass and a beer from one of the friendly vendors and relax.
