This was one of the most horrible places I have ever stayed. Pictures don't match the place. I booked a room for 6 and when I got there we had to be in different rooms because they said they got overbooked, it was not nice but understandable so we were okay with that until next night when I got back in the hostel someone else was sleeping in my bed and all my stuff were taken out from the staff. I confronted them and they said in their system my bed was supposed to free, I was checked in less then 24h before that! While I was complaining and trying to figuring out another staff member jumped in the conversation and rudly asked me "are you trying to show us how to run our business?" I dont recommend staying there at all. The rooms smell like mold and my friends that got separated didnt have a key or a locker in their room.

Very nice staff, wifi not so good, and the bathroom downstairs didn't work (though we've been told otherwise) so we had to shlep to the second floor. The place was very very clean, and the beds in the dorms were wide and comfy and organized in a way that almost gave a feeling of a private room.

Nothing is like in the posted pictures. First their system was messed up so we end up in two separate rooms. On top of that it was stuff room, full of mold and without private key, we shared one key with the stuff. The bed sheets I got were ripped and full of holes. Bathrooms is ok but lacks privacy, main doors are always open.

First impressions count a lot and unfortunately our experience was this: everyone was stoned when we arrived, the dorm we were in was super stinky, dirty and tiny. The aircon was on but really didn't do anything (even the cleaner recognised it wasn't working properly but didn't do anything to fix it). The upper bunk beds are hard to get to although there's a good thing about them: they have a courtain that gives you privacy and individual sockets to charge your phone. Bathroom was ok but couldn't get a warm shower any day (neither I or my friends). It is mixed, in case you have a problem with that. We had read great reviews so decided to go there, to date I still wonder why. Avoid.

Best hostel in my life so far :) 100% clean, you even get eggs for breakfast, the beds gives you privacy and it feels like your own little room. Staff amazing, especially Adele, a girl in reception. But over all the best hostel I've stayed in

Amazing place to stay in Salvador. The rooms are very clean and cozy. The hostel includes a shared kitchen that offers free drinking water and a nice rooftop terrace where you can sit together. Carlos, the owner of the hostel, is just amazing and will help you with any question that you have. In the evening Carlos also regularly takes his guestes out and shows them around in the city. I can definitely recommend Açai hostel if you are staying in Salvador!

Er...free caipirinha on lots of nights, what more can a girl dream of? Beds have curtains for privacy, little lockers by the bed and a lamp. The hostel is very social and the staff speak English. I wish I was still there! The wifi wasn't always great though and its worth mentioning that toilets are all genders.

Excellent hostel, one of the best I've ever been to. Excellent location in the heart of Pelourinho, great facilities (comfy beds with personal fan, several plug-ins near each bed, two lockers per person, nice terrace with barbecue,..), nice vibe, nice staff!
