Very great stay in this beautiful pousada. The hosts, Marco and Nathalie were very hospitable, extremely knowledgeable, and fun to be with. We really feel at home there. Let's not forget to mention the FANTASTIC, varied breakfasts (very healthy as well), and the extremely convenient location for the visit of the "pelo". I would recommend a stay in this establishment to any of my friends, and so I recommend it to all who view this review!

Enjoyed a very relaxing stay. Natalie and Marco are very welcoming hosts and are extremely helpful with tips. They speak English, Portuguese, French and Italian! I really liked the location of their place, It's a quieter road in Pelourinho, so you can be close to all the action, but get a great night sleep aswell! Highly recommend

I had an incredible time staying in this hostel. It is located in a picturesque street directly in the historical center of Salvador. The house and the rooms are decorated tastefully and also very comfortable. Nathalie and Marco are fantastic hosts and invest a lot of time explaining what to do and where to go. The breakfast preperred by Nathalie is excellent as well. Plan a visit to this marvelous city and stay there.

Great pousada, close to the historic center and in the center of the beautiful artsy neighborhood of Santo Antonio. Plus: they speak Italian, French and Portuguese. Don’t miss out on the homemade breakfast - the cherry on the pie 😍

Highly recommended. The single rooms are big and nicely decorated. The breakfast is amazing!! The owners are VERY helpful and nice. The location of the hostel is great, since the center of the city is just 10 minutes by foot.

Unforgettable stay in a beautiful house in the center of the Pelourinho de Salvador. Nathalie and Marco are just wonderful people and the service is perfect. I will never forget the breakfast and the warmth of our hosts!

Near from the center, clean and cozy room, cheap price for excellent service. It’s a good memory of my honeymoon trip when we had dinner with the host and their family and played card game with their children. It’s like my home in Salvador.

My 2 friends and I stayed at Pousada Esmeralda for 1 night - although it was a short stay, Marco and Nathalie made a big impression. They treated us like family, gave a lot of great recommendations, and made a delicious breakfast (the best we’ve had on our trip so far) - they also kindly accommodated our request for an early breakfast as we had an early morning bus to take! As for the pousada itself - it was very charming, rustic and clean and only a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of the old town. Our room was perfect for the 3 of us and even had a small balcony and hammock which was lovely to watch the birds from in the morning.
