Nice quiet area. If you like nature sounds from local animals like early birds or midnight frogs you will love it. Friendly family included.

We had a great time at Mama Garden with our two daughters. She and her son accompanied us very well and advised us. The home is perfect. Mama Garden is located in a typical neighborhood where we found ourselves immediately immersed in Thai life. We find everything nearby. If we had to go back, it would be without any hesitation. Thank you very much Mama Garden !!!

A serene oasis in an otherwise busy, noisy, chaotic city! We were looking for accommodations that didn't require an elevator ride, could easily provide safe social distancing from other people, and was centrally located. Mama Garden turned out to be perfect! The BTS, MRT, and Chao Praya river boat systems are all within a 10 minute walk. Within the same distance is the IconSiam Mall, an upscale shopping destination, with lots of food options, IMAX theatre, Watsons, Takashimaya department store and other amenities should you need to get out of the heat or rain for a while. Yok Yor, a riverside restaurant that specializes in seafood and the Jam Factory with its Never Ending Summer restaurant are nearby. You don't need to go to all the way Khaosan Road or even Chinatown for street food, because there a number of food stalls, from the moment you exit the Mama Garden gate and around the corner, in front of the 7-Eleven. When it got too hot to go elsewhere to eat, we just picked up some dimsum, fried rice, grilled or fried chicken, grilled catfish, roast duck, crispy pork belly, stir-fried noodles, within a five minutes walk. All cheap and delicious! We also did the Yaowarat road experience, and I don't plan to do that again. Once is enough just for the experience. In a previous visit I stayed near Khaosan road and that too will not be repeated. Mama Garden is located in a typical Bangkok neighborhood alley off of Charoen Rat, a not so busy road that leads to Charoen Nakhon, a very busy main road where IconSiam is located. But at night, save for an occasional motorcycle or people talking, all you hear are frogs croaking and crickets chirping. Mong was an outstanding host, went well beyond expectations to see to our needs. She even got up at 4:30 AM to check if our booked ride had arrived to take us to the airport! Thankfully she did, because that !@#$%& driver was a no-show, and so we had to scramble to find another. She spoke to the Grab-taxi driver to explain how to get to our location quickly. She must have also told him to drive fast because it seemed like he broke speed records to get us to DMK on time! Thank you Mong for a great stay!

The breakfast was good, and communication was terrible. The airline had locked my suitcase and begrudgingly, she took me to a shop so they could unlock it. However, because she thought this was my mistake, my thanks were quickly dismissed. The disdain remained throughout the stay and it was unwavering. Regrettably, I asked if could leave my belongings within the guesthouse and collect them at 1- to which she replied; ok, I will let the cleaning lady know. Upon checking out, she asked for 500 Baht to pay the cleaning lady for overtime. While I understand the need for a fee, I expect to be notified of such prior, especially if the host agrees and fails to mention an additional cost. Especially considering this exchange was done over text, there is no reason to have misheard this information. I felt I communicated my part clearly, and unfortunately she was simply not listening.
