One of the most amazing experiences of my life. My partner and I got picked up right near our air b&b by Elvin, driven to his home and ate a tradicional & tasty homemade breakfast made by his very sweet mom, who showed me how to make tortillas :) Rony, our guide for the journey, joined us soon after and we headed to the trailhead. Rony was so much fun and extremely competent- I felt incredibly secure to complete the arduous hike with him as our guide. We were an athletic group and got up to the camp site in about 3-3.5 hours; Rony set everything up when we got there, made a fire, hot coco, coffee, and then dinner. He was a great conversationalist and made the experience what it was: so great and memorable. I had an emotional experience with those volcanoes let me tell you. Thank you SO much V Hiking team. We highly recommend this crew. ******Also, side note to tourists, please consider when making your travel plans to go with Guatemalan owned businesses. Most of the travel agencies in Antigua central are owned by internationals. Support Guatemalan and indigenous owned always.*********** Thank you again

I really enjoyed my experience with V-Hiking tours! Elvin was prompt to answer my request to change my hike date and went above and beyond to help me get to my next destination. He also made sure to give an extra briefing to myself and the other two English-speakers before we left. The hike itself was quite tough, but our guides (Fidel, Manuel y Javier) were super encouraging along the way. The food and rooms surpassed my expectations. The view from the sunrise hike was so incredible. One note for anyone with knee problems- definitely bring/rent walking sticks. The trek down puts a ton of pressure on your knees. I highly recommend!!

One of the best experiences in my entire life! You need to find a good guide, to help you get through this tough hike, and V-Hiking Tours were definitely good enough. Even though there was time, when some of the guides did not wait for us enough, I would still recommend this agency. They provided heat from the campfire, warm food, hot chocolate or hot tea. They have really nice and relatively warm tents, full of sleeping bags, where you can snuggle up. And they are really kind - but speak only spanish - so you should speak at least some spanish, to understand all instructions if needed. The hike itself is really hard. Aproximately 4-5 hours of nonstop ascending during day and circa 1 hour during total dark before sunrise. The beggining of the hike is hard, but it doesn't get much easier until the very end. So prepare to be sweating! You should be definitely in a good shape for this hike, but I made it, even when I wasn't at top of my fitness. But! It's totally worth it!

Thanks again to the V-Hiking Crew! The organization is great. I had to postpone the trip twice because I was ill. But everything went great and I was able to choose a new date. They were also very attentive during the hike & adapted to the different paces of the guests. The sleeping place was amazing!!! With a direct view of the Fuego volcano from the bed (and the beds were warm enough :) ) Unfortunately, we were unlucky not to see any lava, as there was a major eruption 3 weeks ago. But even without lava, it's totally worth it. It's definitely a challenging hike, so if you're feeling ill, the better decision is to wait a few days! see you next time with lava!🌋🫶🏼

We had an amazing experience with V-Hiking tours! The day started with breakfast in our hosts beautiful home, and our group made it to base camp by 2:00pm! We had such a great time relaxing with the beautiful views, and the guides were very kind and accommodating. Thanks so much for the experience and for getting us to the summit of Acatenango! Hope to be back someday!

Very organized trip with a locally run business. I believe they were one of the first to run the tour and they give back to the community which is great and why I picked them. Unfortunately that meant there were no English guides but it was okay, the guides were still very nice and helpful. The only downside was they said they would split the group based on speed and fitness levels at some point during the hike but that didn’t happen, which left the faster paced people having to stop every 5 mins to let the rest catch up which was very frustrating if you have any experience hiking and made the way down a lot more challenging with stopping momentum. Food was decent and was definitely enough with a couple little snacks. They provided medication if you get sick and layers if you didn’t bring enough. I recommend if you have low fitness, as the pace is set for that but it’s hard if you have any experience as you’ll want to keep going but aren’t allowed. Service was worth the price and loved the trip to the family house before the hike; a nice touch!

Would definitely recommend V-Hiking tours for the Acatenango Hike. It is a lovely family run company with great communication, friendly guides, good meals - an incredible overall experience. The tents were comfortable and equipment was available to rent at a good price - the hiking poles were so worth it. Also, the views from the summit are 100% worth waking up for! Thank you V-Hiking tours!

We hiked Acatenango with V -Hiking a fee days ago and would definitely recommend. The guides are fun, friendly and patient. The base camp is well set up and we received plenty of food and hot drinks soon after we finished hikes. The timing of the walks is better than others in my opinion as it allows you to see sunset and sunrise, other tours were hiking the extra fuego route after sunset, which I wouldn't have enjoyed anywhere near as much. All around a great time!

V-hiking Tours Acatenango and Fuego overnight was incredible. Norberto, Darío, Luis and Fidelino were awesome guides. They paid attention to our group, gave us breaks when necessary and provided useful and interesting information throughout the trip. They guided us to Fuego on a night of abnormally high activity and seeing the lava spewing from the volcano was a completely unforgettable experience. They got our whole group safely down the volcano in the middle of the night when the ash from the volcano became dangerous. Overall this was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful experience with V-Hiking. The shuttle picked us from our hotel on time, then a very warm welcome from Elvin and a delicious breakfast from Elvin’s Mother. Our guides Jaime and Kevin are super nice, helpful and kind. Everything went perfect for us. I am glad that we choose you to this amazing tour. You tried to make easy this hard hiking. Thank you to all V-hiking family. Never forget you.

Great experience with V-hiking. We had 5 guides; Menor, Manuel, Brian, Leo and Alicia. The beginning was complicated because we had to maintain a certain rhythm to stay as a group. After creating 'level groups' we were much more comfortable and very well supported. Alicia and Manuel were our guides during this climb. They knew how to motivate us, stay positive and make us laugh! Leo was going back and forth offering the last ones to carry their bags and checking that everyone was okay. Manuel was our savior during the morning climb, arriving with dolipranes, water and a headlamp when we needed it most. Thank you for this experience, these very very good meals and the bed right in front of the fuego! The night show was incredible.

One of the best tours for hiking acatenango volcano to see the Fuego erupt. The guides in our group were all awesome and provided good care and hospitality while at the base camp. Highly recommend v hiking when in Antigua for volcano hiking.

Hiking with V-hiking tour was the best experience ever. The shuttle was on time and picked us up from our hostel in Antigua. The breakfast at Elvin’s mama was delicious. I highly recommend staying at his house the night before - a true experience and a good way to practice your Spanish. We were a really small group, which was excellent. We were 7 with two guides who were really helpful during the hike. Our group was really fast. We arrived at the camp around 1pm. The camp is beautiful and much more than what I expected . We were offered some marshmallows, wine, hot coco & a warm meal. Everything was tasteful and appreciated after this long hike. I highly recommend this company. Everything from the start is well organize. Thank you so much for everything.

10/10/10 tour agency for the overnight camp and summit. I only picked them based on the Google reviews I read, and was supremely impressed just like the rest of the reviewers. Our guides were absolutely amazing, attentive, funny and motivating. The meals were satiating and rico. Nice family business that's runs like a larger group that may treat you like a number. Excellent experience start to finish.

I've been doing this tour together with my boyfriend and we can both highly recommend it! Everything was well organized and we felt from the beginning until the end of the tour in best hands. After having a breakfast together with our group, Juan and Fidel introduced themselves as our Tour-Guides. We couldn't wish for better ones. They were always taking care about our group and made sure that everybody has a nice experience. Muchas gracias a Elvin, su familia, Fidel y Juan por esta maravillosa experiencia.

What A awesome experience hiking here in Guatemala in Acatenango. Looked for a tour guide and most definitely hit the jackpot with V-Hiking Tour Guides. Punctual on the dot and accommodating. They (Elvin) gave us a very friendly welcoming with enthusiasm when picking us up. Took us to he's home to gather with the rest of the hikers and started off with a good breakfast. Explained the process of the hike. It was a good challenge, they were able to accommodate and keep the group together with everyone having a different pace. All the Guides were great, professional at what they do. Very attentive and kept us well informed from the early morning to catch the sun rise also from dinner, breakfast , snacks even wine 🍷. The tents we stood in were great, good base cushion and sleeping bags to keep the cold out. Great views and a amazing experience. Just look at their profile, they know how to treat their customers. Thank you V-Hiking for the great hospitality & experience your team provided 💯

V Hiking Tour to Acatenango and Fuego volcanoes is the best out there!! The guides are excellent with great English (and of course Spanish) and everything was easy to set up online and communication on WhatsApp was easy. Do the overnight camping tour as you then have lots of time to recover and get sleep. The hike isn’t easy but it’s worth it!! And if you go with V Hiking, they have jackets you can rent. Incredible views!!
