👍👍 My personal training experience with Justin has been amazing. He’s very knowledgeable not only on the subject of strength training, form, and core training, but also helps me understand which muscles we are strengthening and why. I’ve had a shoulder injury for the last few months and since training... People often mention Justin, Kino, training, great, equipment, sessions, recommend, clean, friendly,

My personal training experience with Justin has been amazing. He’s very knowledgeable not only on the subject of strength training, form, and core training, but also helps me understand which muscles we are strengthening and why. I’ve had a shoulder injury for the last few months and since training with Justin, my shoulder and range of movement has greatly improved. He created an excellent corrective exercise and endurance program for me. At the end of the sessions, he briefly massages the area of my shoulder that was hurting and helps me stretch, which has been a wonderful added bonus to the workout. I highly recommend training sessions with Justin!

Working with Justin has been a great experience and I’ve been amazed at the results. I have less pain and feel the strongest I’ve ever been even after two kids! Justin is knowledgeable and I’ve been continually impressed with his ability to hear a problem area I’m dealing with (hurt knee, shoulder acting up, lower back pain) and give me exercises and stretches that help me feel better immediately. I highly recommend his services.

It is with great pleasure to write this recommendation for Justin Stevens and KinoSF. His persistence keeps me focused and committed to a three-day weekly gym schedule. He has helped to develop a new attitude in me. Along with more confidence and drive to stay healthy, I’ve discovered new trust since we began training in 2016. Now I look forward to each session! The expertise and guidance he’s provided through my strength training sessions and stretching have been amazing! His consistent updating and redesigning of my sessions keeps me progressing systemically and keeps me engaged to prepare for ski season each year. I’m happy to share my progress story. Justin has helped me make permanent life changes for better health. It has been entirely worth the investment in myself. Because of his assistance in restructuring my exercise routine, I’m now feeling better than ever! I look forward to our continued partnership

Justin Stevens is the owner/trainer and he is terrific. He's knowledgeable and creative with his workouts. I have had several sessions with him and they have all been both challenging and productive. His new space is really nice too, with natural light flooding in from multiple windows. Mats, weights and machines are all clean and state-of-the-art. And... to Justin's credit, his choice of music is perfect - something that's very important to me. Looking forward to my next visit!

As a gym, Kino is a really non-intimidating place to work out in. It has all the essentials, like a squat rack with women’s (!!) and men’s barbell, free weights, TRX equipment, and now a cable machine. I’m able to schedule workout times where I’m either the only person working out or there’s one other person, which is rare for other gyms in SF. It doesn’t have all the weights and equipments that a gym like Fitness SF has but everyone is friendly and you don’t have to worry about aggressive gym bros. As a personal trainer, Justin has been a wealth of physiological knowledge and sustainable yet challenging workouts. I enjoy understanding why certain moves/exercises are important and what makes an effective fitness routine. Justin is able to answer all my questions in an understandable way and backed by science too! His sustainable and slow and steady approach to exercise has helped me develop a routine and love for fitness that I can continue beyond training. He’s also able to slowly ramp up the difficulty as well and provide alternatives and variations to the same exercise. I’ve been training with him for ~36 sessions now and I love that things have stayed fresh and fun!

Owner Justin Stevens is an incredible trainer! He works with each individual and really connects with their abilities and their needs. We are grateful to work with Justin, especially after so many months sedentary.

Kino is a non-intimidating place to get in a great workout! It is a great neighborhood spot for personal training or to just use the brand new equipment and space on your own.

I've been going to Kino for eight months now and I've seen tremendous progress. After training with Justin, I've gone from feeling like I could never be a "gym person" or using most machines to being comfortable with a wide range of exercises. Justin offers solid workouts, answers questions thoroughly, and is super friendly. Kino has a fun, inviting environment. The reservation system keeps me accountable to maintain my work out routine. And, all the personal trainers there are friendly and encouraging. If you're like me and have avoided going to a big box gym because you feel awkward or uncomfortable, Kino is the perfect solution.

I’ve been working out at Kino the past three months and it’s really been a great gym experience. Justin is top-notch and you can can really see the pride he takes in making Kino stand out. It’s always clean, the equipment functions well, and the scheduling system ensures you’ll rarely have to wait for others to finish their sets before you can use equipment. Members are all kind and accommodating. It’s a great neighborhood gym.

I've been a member at Kino for over a year now and have had a wonderful experience. The space is clean and well equipped - dumbbells, squat rack, kettlebells, cable machine, TRX, erg, etc. The owners (Justin & Emily) as well as the members and other trainers are all very friendly. I found this to be most welcoming and non-intimidating gym I've been a part of. I opted for the gym membership only and found that for most of my workouts I either was the only one there or there was 1 other person working out, making it super easy to always have access to the equipment I wanted to use. Kino is a great addition to the neighborhood!

Kino is my favorite gym I’ve ever been a part of. The gym is beautiful, clean, and super welcoming. I love that it’s locally owned and operated - Justin and Emily are legends! Such a wonderful community to be a part of. Also so great to have trainers and a PT in house (shout out to David)! 10/10 recommend!

Kino is such a welcoming and comfortable gym to work out at. The owners are very kind, professional, and encouraging. They also offer yoga every other Saturday with Julia! Julia is an amazing yoga instructor. Very kind, calm, and knowledgeable. She always creates exciting and new types of routines that provide for a rejuvenating workout. Plus she’s got some great jokes!!! Highly recommend!

Kino is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and the equipment is all very high quality and clean. I wish there were more neighborhood gyms like Kino in the city.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s well run, clean, affordable, and has all the equipment you could want from a gym. At the time of this writing times were easy to slot in for, and was never too crowded. I’ll seriously miss going here (moving is really the only reason I’d ever leave). To top it off, the gym owners, Justin and Emily, are welcoming and accommodating people. Definitely give it a try if you’re on the fence.

😠 Sharing as a PSA for anyone considering joining this Planet Fitness location. While at the gym, the lock on my locker was cut and my belongings were stolen.
