The little time that was spent here was worth the visit. It isn’t earth shattering or massively exciting, however it is a local authentic place that makes Thai gifts and employs local people. You are able to walk around and see the umbrellas ☂ been made at every stage of their production. They are all made from local resources and the gifts made are cheap. There are an array of differing things you can buy but of course predominantly umbrellas of all sizes and colours. There are umbrellas you can stand in ornaments, for show around houses, cafes and hotels and for real use. There is a very large gift shop here so if you like to shop for local gifts or things to take back from vacation then this place is useful also for that. You will see a number of local people sat making all the gifts on display which is a nice touch. There are also a number of painters in one part of the centre. They can paint on items for you such as telephones, wallets bags and shoes. They are all hand painted and cost from around 50 to 100 Baht. A few pound, Euros or dollars. It is free entry here because it is not a tour but an authentic business that makes and then sells its products. I personally like anywhere that supports local business and those in the community to live and experience a better life.

Great place to buy decoration pieces for the house and souveniers. Dont forget to get your wallets or phone cases painted for 100bht. Only 10 km from night bazaar take nawarat bridge all the way here on motorbike.

A neat little “factory” + shop combo. The “factory” has a demonstration of the steps of the process. While the shop - huge - has a variety of souvenirs above and beyond the umbrellas. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this place, but if you happen to be in the area, this is a nice little place to check out.

What a beautiful place to visit not only the peacefulness of the atmosphere but also the staff in the way they appreciate you being there. The basic methods of the process are exciting and amazing how it all comes together. Then not only is it affordable you honestly don't know when to stop to shop :)

Such a pleasing experience to walk around here and see the artisans making umbrellas with their skillful hands. Princess Diana also once visited this historical place back in the day. Worth visiting if you're in Chiang Mai.

See how traditional Thai Umbrellas are made! You can also get your own items painted and paint your own umbrella. There is also a store with many other traditional crafts.

Nice to learn and watch. I bought many gifts there for a visit to USA. You can pay less for fzna and umbrellas just by walking up snd down street where many others also sell same. Just buy one that has not been faded by sitting in sun

Very nice place to buy locally produced handcrafted goods. They have a good variety of paper umbrellas and other souvenirs. Fair prices, staff is helpful and at times you can even see some of the goods being made on site. A very good place to help the local business.

I love hand made things, here you can get your phone protector painted with a picture of your choice and personalized. Umbrellas are fantastic, the people are warm and endearing. I like to have them paint pictures on my blouses and t-shirts, evrn shorys and blue jeans. They have a wide variety of souvenirs that are hand made. Having visited many of these manufacturers, I know the hardship they work under. Most workers sit on the floor for hours at a time designing and copying what they are told. The whole village can be the company as the owners are friends and family.

A nice spot to visit and see the process of hand making bamboo umbrellas and fans. Nice gift shop at the front. Free entry to see how they're made in the factory out the back.

Didn't buy any umbrellas, but it's fun having the artists paint little pictures on your personal items like a pack, bag or cell phone case. Only about 100 Baht for the smaller ones.
