this was the first place we stayed at after our long journey to Thailand so we wanted to stay somewhere where we could relax — we were very glad we booked it. Pretty lovely hotel, super clean and well kept. The two pools were great, the water didn’t burn my eyes with chlorine but it was clear and clean. The grounds were really nice, hotel staff; can’t fault them for anything to be honest. The breakfast is good, nice selection of foods, we only had it once as we wanted to explore other places to eat but the food was fresh. The room itself was nice as-well, our big shower didn’t work which was a bit disappointing honestly though it didn’t affect the quality of our stay. Overall good value for money , I would stay here again.

We enjoy this hotel a lot! The rooms look very nice and really friendly staff. The entrance is instantly giving the Thailand holiday feeling. The rooms are clean and really good bed! We can borrow umbrellas when needed and the location is very good as well, close to the old city where there is a lot to do.

I only had one night here in May 22. This place is A1 and I will be back. Splash-out and get the pool access room(s), I did and it was worth every cent. When these people get back on their feet post-Covid, they will have more staff and even better service/facilities. I fully recommend.

(+) The resort is located very close to the old town and a busy district. The place itself is like a oasis though - with palms, little pond and many plants. This way you can hide from the busy city. The place is clean and has two pools. The staff is extremely friendly. There was a little misunderstanding with the booking but the staff acted fast and helped us accordingly. (-) As a sun lover I was sad that one of the pools has no sun and the other only for 2 hours a day. The rooms are a little dark due to the brown furniture (I personally like a lot of light). Breakfast could be optimized. But to be honest I didn't have a nice breakfast in the majority of the places I stayed in Thailand.

Nice quiet resort close to old town and night bazaar. Lovely room off the pool. Felt somewhat exposed though when sitting on the balcony due to the small nature of the pool that was used by all guests. Still had a nice time. Breakfast was simple but enough options to keep us content for our 4 mornings.

The receptionist was very helpful, nice and friendly. Spoke English well too. Rooms are very nice and the whole hotel was really comfortable and looks nice. Only downside would be the location. From the main road it was difficult finding the hotel since the signs weren't clear or obvious.

Pros: The Viang Thapae Resort is an Oasis in the middle of Chiang Mai. We planned to stay there one night and finally stayed for 4-nights. First, the location is great: 5-min walk from the Eastern Thapae Gate with it's vibrant food scene. Then, the architecture of the two wooden buildings, the roof terrace that oversees the city, the two swimming pools, and the attention to detail in the decoration makes it a really cosy & vibrant place to stay. The staff is super friendly, both in trying to find solutions to extend your stay (we got upgraded in a larger room with a balcony for one of the nights) and making sure I was okay when I was sick (arranging a chauffeur for a visit to the hospital and finding me rice and bananas). Overall, it was great staying at Viang Thapae and we only wished we would have stayed longer. Cons: The only thing I would recommend (like almost any hotel in Thailand) is to offer proper coffee for breakfast. The days of the coffee pot warmer on the buffet are over, please consider a proper espresso machine with good Thai coffee beans as the city can offer.

READ- NASTY PLACE ! After spending a night at this hotel, I cannot begin to describe my shock and disappointment at the conditions I encountered upon entering my assigned room. It was a harrowing experience that I feel compelled to share. To my utter horror, I found blood and urine stains on the bed sheets. It is simply inconceivable that any reputable hotel would expect a guest to sleep in such deplorable and unsanitary conditions. After I brought this distressing matter to the attention of the staff, the linens were eventually changed. However, the most astonishing aspect of this ordeal was the complete lack of an apology or even a simple acknowledgment of the hotel's grave oversight. This level of indifference to guest comfort and well-being is nothing short of astounding. I trust that travelers deserve far better treatment, especially when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness in their accommodations. The fact that this hotel failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality is deeply troubling. I strongly urge potential guests to think twice before choosing this establishment. The experience I had was not only unacceptable but also a severe breach of trust. The management must seriously reconsider its approach to guest satisfaction, or the reputation of this hotel will continue to plummet.

I loved this hotel! Rooms very clean, I liked the decoration, the garden, the staff was friendly and helpful. For example, they made me a breakfast box for my early departure on a trek. Our second night upgraded in a room above the second pool was perfect. I would gladly go back!!

Hello, I arrived on March 07 around 7:00 p.m. at the hotel. I had booked a room with a balcony. I am not at all happy with the reception I have had. The staff rushed at me to check my passport and to fill in the hotel form.. no time to breathe. then the receptionist listed the many rules of the hotel, swimming pool hours, breakfast to be paid for immediately and balcony of the non-smoking room.... I had just taken a room with a balcony to smoke quietly without disturbing anyone.. Suddenly, I have to cross half of the hotel to smoke at the smoking point. It's not at all practical, especially when it rains, since I have to cross the garden... Who thought of such nonsense? Nothing is free in this hotel, even small bottles of water are charged 20 baths and it is forbidden to consume other drinks not coming from the hotel. the cleanliness is not there... cobweb on the ceiling, bathroom tiles not very clean... I would not recommend this hotel...

don't even try to show up before 2 pm. the whole Hotel can be empty, and before you want to say something, they shout at you that" you can't check - in before 2 P.M. Positive is the resort is very quiet, and the swimming pool is refreshing !

Good location and warm atmosphere! Comfy beds and clean facilities- just not many breakfast options (for the price it costs). Would return if i ever had the chance!

Hotel was very pleasing to the eye and staff were kind; however the room we had had no sound proofing whatsoever. I normally sleep very soundly but was kept awake on 3 out of 6 nights due to noise/talking from different guests in adjoining rooms. We stayed in deluxe room 2303. Breakfast was overpriced & sub par for this level of accomodation

When I stayed here, I could feel the atmosphere of Thailand because of its overall interior, atmosphere and garden:) I stayed 5nights and 6 days. Breakfast is served both Thai food and American style food. And I felt like in 'Jungle book' in this garden-view restaurant.

The hotel was amazing, the rooms in relation to the price were of a high standard The hotel staff helped us with everything we needed. We recommend it to people who come to travel in the area and want a room with a little more quality without paying a fortune. Thank you for a great stay!

We went there just before Songkran Festival. Weather was nice and chilled, Not hot at all. We were so lucky. This hotel is just 5 mins walk from Weekend market and old town. We enjoyed our stay here. Staffs are nice. Breakfast was OK, during covid only selected menu available but its enough and good. The room is nice, each room has balcony on walk way infront of the room overlooking the nice pool.

Staff at the front desk are wonderful. The pools are clean and refreshing, really nice to have available in hot weather. The gardens are lush. Very quiet at night. The rooms are good sized and the furniture is in good condition, though not modern. Taking off a star due to abundant mosquitos at breakfast and lumpy pillows.

Always great value for a mid-range hotel. Easy walk into Thepae Gate, and near several interesting wats. Rooms large and general decor authentic, creating a feel-good ambience.

Very friendly and helpful front desk team. Nice design hotel with quiet pace. They do have sanitisation station before you enter. it's considered quite strategic and convenient place, near to town. nearest 7-eleven is around 8mins walking distance.

Awesome hotel. During our 4 days of staying here, we couldn't understand why there were hardly any other guests. The hotel has truly polite employees. It also has two small swimming pools and a beautifully maintained garden. Definitely recommend going here!

Great staff. Quiet. Security and desk guy at night (he may be sleeping tho). Beds ok. Linen a little warm, pillows firm Great location, breakfast good (once they got the hang of making crispy bacon). 2 pools one all shade, one gets sun from 11 to 1:30

The hotel lies a 7 minute walk from the old center of chiang Mai. Despite this it's very tranquil and calm. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the services are good. The breakfast is a bit western, but tasty and fresh and the employees are very friendly. Highly recommended for the beauty and calm.
