Legit old school drive in, with the new feature of broadcasting audio over FM radio. The locals bring their block rocker stereos and play them outside the car for everyone to hear. Everything you remember from the drive in... Sitting outside cars in lawn chairs, horns going off, cars pulling in late and headlights shining in your eyes, even planes flying overhead. If you go in with the right state of mind, you're going to have a good time. Last but not least, the concession stand is old school with 1990s prices. We got two large popcorns, two theater size candies, a hot dog and large drink for $24. Makes for a good time.

The best of drive in experiences - nostalgia guaranteed! Not only did we get to see a fun movie but the beauty in the sky was spectacular - awesome cloud formations with stars above. We meet with my sister-in-law - my nephew spent $10 on candy and came back to our group with quite a collection. Nights can get cool so bring jackets and blankets.

Such a cool treasure to have in our county! So ThankFul for those kids that work every Sunday so we can have a forum to buy, trade, and sell! Searching for something unique? You will find it here! Great for all ages! Bring your wagon!

I'd been wanting to go to this place for years. But I live hours away, and every time I stayed in SLO the weather or temperature or something else kept me away. Yay, I finally made it to the Sunset and enjoyed every minute! I was charged $7 for a single movie on a Tuesday night. There were quite a few cars there. Check the web site for open and start times as they vary according to day of week and time of year. Every single review I read said bring a blanket and I knew a cold fog was going to roll in at some point. I was on the road without a blanket, so I smuggled a couple plush pool robes over from the Madonna Inn room to snuggle with. Positioned my car on one of the moguls for the proper reclined viewing angle. Tuned my car radio to FM 100.7. Grabbed a jumbo dog, large bag of popcorn and a soda and had enough left over from my twenty to leave a $3 tip. Then just kicked back and enjoyed the sunset at the Sunset before watching my first drive-in movie since back in the day when you had to grab a speaker from a pole and hang it in your window. I enjoyed every minute of the experience and was so glad I left the comfort of the quilt top bed and flat screen and braved the cool night air and looming fog bank to get out and support the drive-in and make a memory.

I love this place!! Its the perfect spot for date night. Family night, or girls or guys night out!! I have been coming to see movies here with friends, lived ones and various other groups of colorful SLO locals my entire lifetime. -its never super crowded, you can gab as loud as you want to, leave your ringer on your cell phone on, and consume whatever treats you can fit in your cooler!! Also, its about half the cost per person compared to seeing a flick in the seated theatres....But yes, in high school, someone was always hiding in the trunk anyways 🙃....i highly recomend going to the drive-in, at least a couple of times, just because its so very different than the alternative. Oh! And they always play 2 movies back to back!

Our family went for the special Double Creature feature (Gremlins & Lost Boys). It was awesome to see these 80s classics on the big screen! There was also a fun band playing before the movies started, & a costume contest too! Lots of fun for all of us.

Very enjoyable experience. Screen was easy to see. Good selection of items in the snack bar. Restrooms were clean. We watched Jurassic World and Top Gun…two great movies. Bring a warm blanket and enjoy!

I have been going to sunset drive in for 20 years it is the best value in town the prices have risen like everything else it is $11 now but that is for 2 movies you can bring your own food if you want the $11 for 2 movies is probably what you would pay for popcorn elsewhere you don't have to sit near anyone unless you brought them. One of the last memories from our youth left. You don't need a baby sitter you're child can sleep during the movie and if they don't they won't be bothering anyone with there crying just you that goes for talking if you like to talk you can talk all you want in your car no one should hear you in your isolation bubble 🤣

Was a wonderful experience. Felt like a gem hidden amongst us. Places like this are rare and I appreciate people who hold onto what's most important in life providing a place where people can come and be treated kindly at the gate at the concession stand .... God bless them all. Praise God 🙏

A nice spot to enjoy a movie, unfortunately the radio signal was occasionally fuzzy (as a radio signal will be). The bathrooms aren't maintained the best but they do the job. Cash-only makes sense at the ticket booth but felt like a bit of an unnecessary old-fashioned quirk at the snack bar. All-in-all still a great way to burn four hours for pretty cheap.

Perfect date spot! I've been here 3 times and I will keep coming back! Bring your own snacks, blankets and get ready to enjoy your movie in the comfort of your car. Its really cool to see how they used to do this back in the day, and it's convenient that you are in control of the volume, AC or anything to make YOURSELF comfortable while enjoying a film 🌸

Cool experience! One of the last drive in movie theaters in California. Decent popcorn, terrible tamales. Friendly service. There are 2 non functioning pinball machines inside.

Came here for the first time and I LOVED it! I had an amazing time with my friends, the quality of the movie projection was impressive, and the radio station sound from in your car is absolutely genius. I will definitely be coming here again!

So fun to go to see 2 movies. I brought a friend from another country, and he's been living in the USA for 40+ years, and this was his 1 st time at a drive-in. I liked all the cute commercials. It was easy to use our radio to hear the movies. Also actor and writers strike, just fun to see movies in general.

Easy entrance. Moderate cost. Complete snack bar. Fun to visit a drive in!! Would be great for patron's to know that sound is through radio station, which is fine. We had to turn the car on and off throughout since cars now turn auxiliary functions (the radio) off after a period of time!

I love the drive in $ 11 dollars isn't bad movies usually good food at the snack bar is good at a fair price love their pizza only complaint is the doors on the stalls in the bathroom have been broken for a long time. Is tricky sitting w your foot on the door while doing your business then figuring a way to keep holding the door while cleaning yourself everything else is great

This place is cash only, I should have paid better attention to the website. The parking lot is paved and nice. The screen is a bit dated and could use some love so there isn't lines visible when the movie is playing. The audio was a dial into a station and came thru our car speakers, made hearing every word perfect! The concession stand prices were good and the food was fresh. All in all it was a good experience and will be returning again.

It was a nice place to watch a movie. The audio on FM was really good. There was slight disturbance with lights sometimes, but it was a nice experience. They served food at the drive in and also had bathrooms for everyone. It would be a very good date spot.

It was nice. The only thing is they need to remove all of the old polls for the Speakers that they do not have anymore. A lot of them have been hit and are bent.

Very fun experience! Also a way to watch some new movies with our toddler, so it's a win win! There are bathrooms and a snack stand available. Just keep in mind they only take cash (for both entry and the snack stand). It's $11/adult and kids 5 and over are $5! Can't beat the prices at the comfort in your own car! It tunes with a FM station so the sound is much better quality!

Wow this place is so awesome so nostalgic nothing's changed since the '80s even the prices in the snack shop I felt like I stepped back in time and the staff was very friendly and we saw a Jerry Lopez movie with a live band it was awesome for the slo filmfest, going back for a regular movie.
