It's a scam! Do not book this hostel. Once you get there they will try to charge you 50% more than what booking. After i left, they try to charge my card 3 times. Better go to the hostel in the center for 50Q/night

DO NOT GO THERE ! REALLY CREEPY HOTEL !! You are not allowed to see the room before paying (really weird?!) and I felt really UNSAFE there so I moved ! Everyone can enter without having a booking so really unsafe. They charged me tough. Do not go there.

I booked to stay there on Hostelworld and it says free shuttle. I called to ask if they can give me a free shuttle after booking for 2 nights. He said no because on their website it says after 8pm they can pick people up. He then proceeded to cancel my reservation when I never authorized him to cancel it. He thought because i wasnt getting a shuttle that I was not going to go. There is a app called uber and I was going to take it there. How is this place in business when they dont want someones money and decide to cancel a reservation without my authorization? The guy that answered the phone and the owners of this business are a joke.

We camped outside for one night in our VW. Axel was out of town but we were warmly received and treated very well. As an overlander, I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a safe place to sleep.

Great place to stay in Guatemala city when you are on budget. Cozy room, tasty breakfast and friendly owner who gave us lift from airport. I didn't have more time to get to know more of the hostel because I stayed only 1 night but will visit again ;)

Not a bad place. The common areas including a relaxing/working/eating space, the kutchen, and the bathroom are clean and nice. The beds are small for my big 6'4" body, but if you are normal size, you should fit.

The most disgusting so called Hostel, please avoid this place! It's NOT a hostel, it's a very old and small house, shared space with bars everyone including people from the bars downstars can easily enter the rooms and robbed you, music stops until 3am, I felt completely unsafe all the time, the bathroom walls covered with mold, toilet blocked, no signs of breakfast, the owner (Axel or Alex) he immediately charged you $10 and then he disappear for 20 hours. He charged $2 for a towel. Really unsafe and creepy place. Don't worth it, please avoid this place.

Very convenient location when traveling by Ticabus, as it is just a five minute walk from the station. The host Louis is very friendly and will help you with information.

The owner is super friendly and kind. Room are bit small but, everything is clean and tidied. In common room, you can easily to meet other travelers. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! Thank you!!

Great host, comfy room, kitchen to cook, great location.

Super friendly host! He allowed us to camp in front of the hostel with our van. We could use the kitchen and the fast wifi. There is also a relaxed bar in the building. Nice Vibe!

This place Kaena Hostel is one of the top notch place in Guatemala City in zone 11which is very safe area and very economic price and The Owner Axel has the best Hospitality in the whole country and you will never be dissatisfied by trying this hostel .
