Haven't been here for ages. The food is as good as I remember. The service is just impeccable. Love every dish. Perfectly cooked, with excellent desserts. Looking forward to my next visit.

Food is good, sat outside in the courtyard. Was very nice. Unfortunately after we got seated we didn't get a server for about 15 minutes. But after that there was good service. One thing that I observe in a well trained restaurant is that they always make sure to pour your wine throughout your dining. And at our table, this was done . We truly enjoyed our evening out at Bistro 45.

I really debated whether this restaurant should get 4 or 5 stars. The heritage Cauliflower soup was the best I had ever had. Salad was reasonably good, you could taste the freshness of the food. Where this restaurant fell short was the Fish du jour. A cod in a Citrus sauce. The fish pieces were fresh but bland. The Citrus sauce was non existent. Dessert redeemed the dining experience. Both desserts we tried were fabulous. My associates reported that the wine pairings were excellent.

Whether it's a date night or impressing the parents. Bistro45 is the place. Service was exceptional, wait staff was incredible, food was a 10. A yes for when my mother comes into town.

It’s our third time dining in this New American restaurant. The staff had been attentive in the past but this is not the case this time around. Our reservation was at 745 and we know they close at 830. Our server was pouty from the beginning. She tried to rush us, and even pulled the menu from my son’s hands while he was still perusing it. Fortunately, another female server was nice enough to get us another menu. The Monterey calamari was very flavorful. The braised octopus had an interesting presentation but was not impressive. The pasta du chef and pizzas were just ok. We had their pork chop and hanger steak before, we all wished we just got them instead. Just like before, the Meyer lemon trio is cold and refreshing. The apple tart tatin was warm and not too sweet. We finished dinner at 845 and some diners were still finishing their meal. Our server can’t still leave work and did not have to be ill mannered in the first place.

Courteous, friendly service. Great location and perfect ambiance. Delicious food and drinks. Will order the foie gras again. BF said porkchop was good but needed more salt; I told him that was his fault for not asking for salt. In my opinion, its easier to add something like that than to take away. My duck was perfect. Octo appetizer prepared a bit more fancy than Id expected- I wanted a whole tentacle on my plate. But sure, I get it. Do yourself a favor and order the pineapple upside down tart w coconut ice cream for dessert. Youre welcome. There’s a reason they’ve lasted decades- They know what they’re doing. We’ll be back often if we can help it.

I have been here a couple of times and will be giving an honest review. Food: The food is fantastic. I love every dish they make. Everything is quality and made right. The ribeye is fantastic and my usual go-to. Service: The last time I was here I had a horrible experience with their service that is not representative of what fine dining entails. So, not sure what happened on this day as the restaurant wasn't busy at all at this time. The experience was bad enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth. The way it was handled was we were given a refund on the automatically included service tip (for 6+ guests), and that's that. Atmosphere: Chill and upscale. The atmosphere is nice for family outings, dates, and business.

We had a dinner with about 10 friends. The meal, as always is the case at this gem of a place, was spectacular. Each dish was special. I could list them all but we tried essentially everything on the menu. Scallops were delicious. The lamb was a particular standout. I also loved the risotto. The mushrooms are awesome too. The service was gracious — attentive and prompt. They make you feel welcome. Save room for the lemon trio and apple tart. And even if you haven’t saved room, order them anyway. You will be happy that you did.

One of the nicest restaurants I've been to. I've eaten at Michelin Star restaurants in New York that were not at the level of bistro 45. The staff was amazing and explained the dishes with gusto and detail that made me want everything. Ended up on choosing the scallops which where cooked to perfection. There portion sizes were healthy and the atmosphere was top notch. If you are looking for a special place when in Pasadena you can't go wrong at Bistro 45.

Food is delicious; however, hostess Brooke was selective as to who got to sit at tables for those without reservations. She sat us at the bar, while a couple and a man that came after we did, were sat at tables; so much "for the house of yes." Chelsea and Jose made up for the inconvenience.

Pasadena's hidden gem. Off the beaten path, but absolutely perfect in every aspect. The atmosphere (including music choice), service, and, of course, food. Every dish is a perfectly crafted taste bouquet. Definitely give it a go. Plan to be back once we are in town again.

We love this place so much that we got married here! The owners and staff did a wonderful job helping us plan/host our small event. Food, wine and service were spectacular and they had a nice flow. We've been here 5 or 6 times over several years and we've never been disappointed. Thank you!

Blown away by the experience at Bistro 45. To be fair, we picked this place accidentally, as there were no reservations at other places we considered. However, the experience was exceptional since the moment we were greeted. Attentive staff, always making sure guests are taken care off. After first bite on the food all skepticism went away. High quality ingredients combined to produce extraordinary quality food. We’ve made sure to bring up our experience to the manager(possibly owner), so he brought his chefs out for us to personally thank them(thanks again!!!). Top quality drinks, delicious and delightfully rich deserts. My wife’s birthday dinner was a top notch experience, thanks again Bistro 45.

Bistro 45 has been one of our favorites for a long time. We desperately missed it when we were living down in Newport Beach and now that we're back in Pasadena, we're looking forward to making Bistro 45 a regular habit again, especially now that we're getting out again more (the pandemic definitely cut back on our epicurean adventures). We've had many positive experiences at Bistro 45. The wine dinners are always great, and the chef even made an alternate dish for my wife who dislikes lamb (we let them know ahead of time) which we thought was especially thoughtful for a food/wine paired dinner. One of the best meals we've ever had was a time years ago when we'd had a Sanford Reserve Pinot Noir that we knew they had in their cellar (that was how our friend who had introduced us to both the wine and the restaurant had found out about the Pinot), and asked if the chef could just prepare a meal around the wine. They gave us a few suggestions based on our personal preferences and it was a spectacular dinner. If you like chocolate desserts, you must, must, must order the Chocolate Soup. You'll be on an endorphin high for the next few hours.

The restaurant hosted a baby shower today with impeccable detail and gourmet extravaganza. The owner and Staff were beyond attentive and kind. Special words from the owner to give recognition to the host and guest of honor were so appreciated. .

Thank you for accommodating us tonight. We didn’t have a clue that Bistro 45 was closed to facilitate a private party. You welcomed us when I called to make a dinner reservation. We were treated like family seating us at a patio table while serving an amazing meal! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️

Delicious! Some of the best home made pizza crust I have ever eaten. The scallops were amazing and the pork chop was equally as good as I remember I had at Flemings. This is a hidden gem and should not be missed. Lastly, the service from Bruce moment we entered until we walked out the door was impeccable. Thank you for a great experience!
