Gorgeous boutique hotel in Santa Barbara. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice touches like fresh cucumber water in the lobby. Valet parking available. Bikes available to use during your stay - first come first serve. Walking distance to the pier and many options for food and shopping in the area.

The Beach House was not what we expected based on the photos on the Hotel Tonight app. It was on a nice area of Santa Barbara. It is modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and it had a nice bathroom. This issue for us was the size of the room. It was tiny (approximately 11’x10’) and very claustrophobic. Our room looked out at a large building which compounded it. That said, if this isn’t an issue, you will like it. They have two outside verandas that are a nice place to hang out as well as a trading area with books with all of these on the second floor. We were able to get a nice night’s sleep. There is a great Mexican restaurant that adjoins the lobby with some of the room atop it. The more I think about it, it’s a pretty nice place! I just have issues with closed in spaces.

I liked the decor of this hotel. It is very modern and attractive. The bed was extremely comfortable. I have seen some people complain about the size of the roomsin their reviews... to be fair, if you enjoy practicing elaborate ballroom dance routines in your hotel rooms while vacationing, it may be too small for you. If you plan on sleeping, watching TV, and taking a shower, it's all good. There are nice sitting spots in the common areas as well. There is ample drawer and hanger space for clothing, which is nice. There is an excellent restaurant attached. It's an easy walk to the beach and pier, as well as lots of shopping and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely book again in the future!

Staff was super friendly. That’s about all the good I can think of this place but let me explain. This place is listed as a “hotel” but it really isn’t. It’s more of a “shared beach house”. If you want to spend 1-2 nights here hitting up the beach before driving elsewhere then sure this place works but anything past that for the cost, you can get yourself a bigger hotel where the shower isn’t touching the toilet. Prepare for small rooms, no privacy, lots of noise and an AC that is controlled by the main lobby. No thanks, never again even for my business trip

We stayed here one night and were very satisfied. The location is close to everything we wanted to be near. The Funk Zone, waterfront, and downtown are all easy walking distance. The rooms are small, as others mentioned, but we'll laid out and comfortable. We enjoyed the king room with a patio. Luis, the general manager, and his staff were friendly and helpful. Others have mentioned that noise was an issue here since its near train station and bars and restaurants. We did not hear any noise at all. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed in SB for 2 nights with my wife in April 2022. This hotel was quaint and perfect for us. Great location, convenient valet parking next door, very friendly staff, clean and quaint rooms. The Mexican restaurant next door was fantastic, plus if you don’t want to leave your room, they can deliver you food / beverages! Special shout out to the general manager, Luis, as he was very helpful and professional. We were thankful / grateful to Luis for resolving a minor issue we had with our checkout bill. He took care of us very well. We will definitely be staying here again, the next time we are in SB. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

Great location, close to everything, but train noise, noise from other rooms, traffic noise were unbearable. Kind of ruined my vacation. Also didn't like the fact that there were no elevator, no refrigerator in the room. And on top of everything else room size was unacceptable for the rate. Would never return nor recommend your hotel. Staff were really friendly though...

The noise from the street was very audible from inside my room, like the walls were not well insulated. In a week, only one cleaning service and that was upon my request. Don't know if that's covid protocol and if so I wasn't notified. Good comfortable stay otherwise. Nice location. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The staff was friendly and the location was convenient, but other than that the hotel falls short of any other overall value. The rooms are small and poorly designed, the bathrooms are clean and updated, but functionally awkward. For leisurely travel, there are better hotel options at this price point.

Perfectly located hotel with extremely friendly staff. Many highly rated restaurants, bars, and attractions were a short walk away. The hotel was very welcoming and dog friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel was amazing, and provided very convenient room service delivery. Our room was definitely on the small side, but nicely kept. We also upgraded to a room with a patio, which made the space feel larger and gave our dog a little more room to roam. We would definitely like to stay here again!

Great place to stay. Great location. Rooms are a bit smaller than I've experienced before but we'd stay again.

The best hotel in SB!! My stay at the Riviera Beach House was an absolute delight. The true highlight of this hotel was its unbeatable location. It's next door to an array of restaurants, wine bars, and the breathtaking beach added an extraordinary dimension to my visit. Combined with the luxurious accommodations and impeccable service, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience in the charming city of Santa Barbara. I cannot wait to return to this impeccable hotel!

For the pros: the location is right in the heart of the Funk Zone which is a big draw for this hotel. Additionally, while quite small, the rooms are charming and clean. Finally, the staff was helpful and attentive. For the cons: I would not recommend this hotel for anyone trying to get some rest on their vacation or driving into Santa Barbara. We had terrible issues with noise late at night due to the outdoor lounges on the second floor. Members of our parties were in the rooms next to the lounges, and there were other guests who were hanging out with their dogs past 11p and were loud enough to disturb the rooms next door. Additionally, as people return home from a late night or leaving for an early train, the walls are quite thin, and it is easy to be woken up from loud noises in the hallways. While we did bring this up to hotel staff, there is no posted or official Quiet Hours for the hotel. Then, the "Valet" parking lot only fits about 10-12 cars for the entire hotel, so it quickly fills up. Your other option is a surface, unmonitored lot for $30 2 block away. This option is quite dismal and wildly overpriced for being unmonitored. We chose to park in the City lot across the street. We are also having issues with the Hotel as they mistakenly charged us the $30 for the parking when we didn't even use the surface lot. We still have yet to be refunded for that amount. We have written to management on these issues and are still waiting for a response. UPDATE: 1 week later - GM reached out to correct the overcharge on the parking and working to address the noise concerns.

Nice lil boutique hotel. Rooms aren't very big but got everything u need. Pretty modern too. Local art all over the walls in the common areas & the beach is a block in and a half south & the best of State Street is a 5 minute walk north. Will stay here again.

This was a top notch stay and somewhere we will go out of our way to stay at again. The location and outside patio was what really stood out. Great local spot to great shopping and food options. Also the staff was very friendly.

This is hands down the best hotel experience in Santa Barbara! It has the perfect location in the funk zone near all of the best restaurants, shops, beach, and train station (no, the train does not blow its horn at night). The rooms are well thought out and designed. I recommend getting one with the private garden balcony to enjoy the weather more. In general, the facilities are beautifully decorated and always clean. They really provide excellent service by nailing the small details like complementary sunscreen, beach towels, and even bikes to ride around town. The staff was quiet possibly friendliest and most attentive staff that I have encountered in years. Danny's recommendations on where to eat never steered us wrong. The hotel manager, June, was so delightful and nice that she basically became our best friend. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we even extended it. Checking out was very hard because we simply did not want to leave.

This boutique hotel was so elegant, charming and artsy, no detail in finery was spared! In the heart of Santa Barbara it is 2 blocks from the central pier! The staff was so helpful and friendly and the rooms impeccably clean and elegant! Two outdoor terrace seating areas allowed for relaxation while taking in the charm of the town and fresh sea air! They also had complementary bicycles to barrow! They also feature rotating beautiful artwork all year long from local artist! Beyond charming!!

A 3 stars hotel that charge you for the price of a 5 stars without the services. Rooms are dirty and not cleaned properly. The curtains are gross. Room is not cleaned on a daily basis, just on requests. No one is ever at the reception. Sanitizer in the lobby are empty. (all of them) Complimentary coffee in the lobby but empty each time we went . Have one ready to replace Instead of making people wait. Most of staff members are students and not trained properly. Patio area on the second floor is dirty, pillows are covered in dust. We spend so much money for our 3 nights and we were not given the room we were told we would get . Completely unacceptable and total rip-off. We would never come back.

My gf surprised me for my birthday with a weekend getaway to Santa Barabra at the end of August. We stayed at the Riviera Beach for the 3 days we were there. The rooms are very small but you cant beat the location of where its at. Like many, we turned the AC on as soon as we got into our room but quickly noticed it wasnt cooling the room off. We notified the front desk about the issue and they stated they would send someone to come take a look in the morning. They provided us with a small desk size fan that didnt do much. The next morning we asked them when someone would be avialable to come take a look, and they mentioned within the next few hours. We didnt mind since we were going out for while. We were gone for about half the day to arrive back with still no AC working. We again contacted the front desk and they mentioned they had not had a chance to get someone in there. By this point, I was frustrated knowing the problem was on going from the time we got there the day before. They provided a second desk sized fan to try and help but again it didnt do much. The entire weekend our room was between 78 ans 80 degrees. And sadly it never got resolved during our stay. Needless to say, our stay at this place was not as enjoyable as we had hoped, espcially for what my GF paid for it. Since August we have sent several emails regarding our stay and several phone messages with no response. I am a bit dissapointed with having not recieved any kind of contact from management or even an attempt to resolve the issue.

The hotel experience was pretty standard overall. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's a good choice for those looking for a no-frills option. Additionally, they had bikes available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, which was a nice perk.

The people at the front desk represent the hotel and gave me an immediate poor impression. I think the woman has been there forever so nothing will change, but there were no smiles, no welcoming. We were also told that one of our rooms was not ready despite it being check in time (she didn't seem the least bit sympathetic or regretful about this). For a hotel that charges over $300 for a room, this is not what one expects upon arrival. The rooms are very small and barely fit both our suitcases, but they were clean and comfortable. The outside balconies are lovely, but I can see where noise could be an issue (as another reviewer mentioned). The Keurig coffee was TERRIBLE. It's unfortunate that there is no mention in the listing of not having an elevator; I'm sure this would affect a lot of people. Location was the bright spot.

We've stayed at this hotel before, Danny, and most of the staff were nice. Came back for reservation today, and was put on hold for over 5 minutes, and finally hung up, and then called back several times and then no answer, so we decided to show up, and unfortunately the gentleman at the front desk, was rude and short. The app showed that there were rooms available, and then he said now they're not and was hostile. It's okay that there's no rooms, however he was unnecessarily short and rude. We decided to go stay at the Virginia Hotel Tapestry since we are also Hilton members. Hotel Virginia is an excellent location and very modern with large spacious rooms. We'll also rethink our membership with Pacifica hotel group. They need to really retrain this staff member and remember they're in the hospitality business. Date for management was April 12, 2023 at 3:30PM.

Great customer service. Rooms are cute no refrigerator or microwave and no elevator but only two floors. A little pricey for the size of the room but you are two blocks from the beach and super close to the train. Bed was super comfortable and rooms was clean and modern.

Location was good. The hotel was clean, and the bar / restaurant they are attached to offered great service and made good margaritas. They put us in a room upstairs when there is no elevator and we have a 7 month old baby and a dog, so we came with a lot of stuff that we had to cart upstairs - do NOT put a stroller in the luggage elevator by the way it won't fit (unless you fold it down)! The room was very small and we would have preferred a room downstairs given all the stuff we had - we couldn't exactly leave it in our car. There wasn't enough room for a travel cot and a dog to sleep on the floor and the beds were pretty small. We asked for a room downstairs but they told us they were even smaller with just one bed rather than two (we only needed one bed so would have been interesting to see the size difference).

This hotel was a last minute booking. It’s in a great location and very nicely appointed. Only complain for be the standard rooms are small (think European style). The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful.

When entering our room.. I always wiped everything down.. our Toilet Seat was Very dirty!!!! I showed the cleaning lady my dirty wipes she asked me to show the front desk.. Danny asked me to email the hotel.. I never got a response! 😡 The location was perfect. The young girl at the desk didn't have much of a personality. Danny was very nice and gave us recommendations. The room was small but modern.

Only stayed for one night but loved the location. Walking distance to Funkzone, restaurants, pier, etc. The restaurant next door is crazy busy but you can order their food and drinks to be delivered to your room. Or enjoy on one of the hotels patios. The room was smaller than we thought. No mini fridge so if you are travelling with food plan ahead.

Pros: clean, beautiful, great location. Cons: small rooms, pricey, no elevator or luggage lift. 5 stars for pet friendliness. Many other dogs there, and even with just an overnight stay, Leo felt it was home. Parking was pricey too but consistent with other nearby hotels.

  • 5/5 Kelsey B. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect location close to everything (beach, restaurants, shopping, wine tasting, etc.) Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and bathrooms are tiny but very doable - get the patio room! Worth the splurge

  • 5/5 Brad T. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, great hotel. Although the rooms were small, they were well laid out to where we never felt cramped. Beautiful bathroom and the patio was a nice amenity. We will definitely be using the hotel again for our next SB trip!

Awesome location, friendly staff. Parking was expensive but overall convenient. Be sure to have the hotel staff hold you a spot in the valet lot. Small rooms yes, but clean and cozy. The outdoor lounge patios are nice. Surrounded by restaurants and a block from the beach. Good value for the price.

  • 4/5 Jennifer B. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is in an excellent and very walkable location. Bed was super comfy, and the patio was a nice extension of the room. Rooms were small as advertised. It was not as quiet as I would have liked (could hear doors and other hotel guests talking from withing the hotel).

  • 5/5 CHARLES S. 2 years ago on Google
Clean rooms, pet friendly rooms easy check in and out and friendly staff. I love that the location is close to many pet friendly restaurants, wine tasting and beer brewery and bonus they are walking distance. The rooms are a bit small so I would recommend a room on the first floor with the outdoor patio. The private patio is our biggest draw to the hotel that allows us to taste the wine and beer we purchased in the area with our pets.

Staff was very helpful and great! Free bike rentals are clutch and located in perfect location. Rooms aren't the biggest but staged nicely to accommodate everything. Great restaurant attached to hotel. 5 stars

  • 5/5 Matt G. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome experience. Right in the middle of everything. We walked from the train and were greeted by super nice staff, the next morning they had free bike rentals so we rode down the beach to a breakfast spot, then checked out the area. Walked around to all the wine/beer/cocktail and food places near by. Very happy with our choice in hotels
