The espresso they made me was so watery I thought it was bad drip coffee. Tasted like folgers singles. 🤮 I can't recommend. Try lighthouse dune or handlebar for good coffee.

Good coffee store. I like the breakfast menu as well. I tired Avocado toast was great along with chai latter with blend of spice and sweet. Outside sit out on the green is cool under the tree shades. Place looks kind off full from far. But it is classy.

Cool coffee shop. I had the hot chocolate and it was good. My friends said the coffee is was good, they have different aromas and flavors from different regions.

It’s a decent coffee shop with two shops combined , making it look like a warehouse and a coffee shop, plenty of roasts to choose and pack or drink there.

Writing this review from Fort Worth, TX where I now live. I'm writing it because I miss living down the street from SB roasting Co, I miss the aroma that lingers around their storefront, I miss the salty cool morning breeze that marries the aroma of freshly roasted beans and a black cup of coffee. If you're thinking of dropping into SB roasting, have a coffee for me

I was visiting from out of town and stopped in for a latte, which was good. But I bought a bag of dark roasted beans and had it ground, only to get home and discover they’d given me a bag of Kona which no one in my family likes. So, I paid a lot for the wrong coffee and can’t exchange it because I live 2 1/2 hours away.

I just wish I would have had a better coffee experience. It didn't have much flavor and was $6.00 so definitely sad about that.

I love trying local Cafes on our vacations & Santa Barbara Roasting Company was just perfect! Beautiful setting with outdoor seating & plenty of indoor seating available to beat the heat. I ordered PSL & it was so delicious! Light, foamy & so yum! Loved their flavored orange whipped cream and their iconic red coffee mugs are just gorgeous to elevate your experience. My husband got a double latte which was good too. We also ordered jalapeño bagels, cinnamon rolls, & scones. They were equally delicious! Drinks are $3-$6 & bakery items are $2-$6 too.

I really like the outdoor space, but why don't they give real cups and saucers if you consume in the premises, rather than single use cups with plastic lids? I will go again if they make the switch.

You order coffee with a screen, and you have soo many options there! including exact temperature of your drink! The coffee taste was very good, we found it's not very often for US. Downsides: it took ages to make this drink, that was strange. Restroom code (the you have on your check) did not work, so we have to ask for assistance.

You can order from the barista or a screen. They have lots of options and everything I tried was very yummy. Food, drinks, coffee beans in 7 different grinds. Sitting space inside and outside. Great stop for a drink and relax.

It’s ok. Some attendants don’t know coffee or their own menu. But what irks me is - $4.25 for self serve coffee and then the coffee accoutrements are located on three different locations. Milk next to self serve on one counter, then Stirrers, sugars, lids, sleeves in middle in another counter, then cocoa, cinnamon, and honey on far counter. And if you order an au lait. You get an empty cup at one bar, fill yourself, then have to take it to other bar, and wait for steamed milk and then do the three counter tango again. Very bizarre logistics.

Good spot to grab a cafe. Outside ordering kiosks are great. Grab a spot in the little grassy area across the way and watch all the dogs stroll by.

Triple shot cappuccino amazing. Wife tells me her oat milk latte 20 ounce was fantastic as well. Avocado toast, and almond butter banana bread pretty darn good as well. Definitely make it your morning stop for a great cup of coffee and perhaps breakfast. Lots of room and very good local crowd which tells me I’m onto something. K.R. Kieffer

Horrible. I ordered a latte, paid and then while I was waiting, asked to use the bathroom. The barista rudely said no. I told her I had just bought a latte. She told me I needed a receipt to use the bathroom. We were in a hurry to make a whale watching tour and the line to go back up front was too long to get a receipt. I politely explained this and she refused to give me the bathroom code. And I know she saw me buy the latte. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never frequent this coffee shop again. No stars!

I brought a friend here, bragging about the great aroma of the place. There's nothing better than the scent of freshly roasted coffee. Sadly, the scent that was most prevalent was burnt coffee. And there are a few things worse than the scent of burnt coffee. I'm not sure if it was just that day, or if it's time to clean the machine, but...

Had an amazing first experience here this morning. The exceptional customer service, efficient speed of service, and beautifully designed space left a lasting impression. I ordered their medium iced vanilla latte for $4.14 and later discovered the convenient 20% discount for checking in on Yelp. The iced latte surpassed my expectations with its delightful taste. RoCo offers not only great coffee but also a memorable atmosphere, making it a highly recommended destination.

The smell alone is with the stop. From the moment you walk in, you're entranced by roasted coffee. Great coffee, great value, amazing ambiance.

Great location way downtown with a public parking place directly across from them. One of the few places I can get a white cherry mocha! They also have milk substitutes such as soy, almond, and even oat.

The coffee beans here smells so good. We had the cortado and brewed perfectly

I’ve come here a few times and I really wish I could give this place a better review. I want to. It has so much potential but there are several things that make it mediocre at best. For one, the music, although a really good vibe, is way too loud for the baristas to hear you when you’re trying to place an order. Secondly, silly thing but you have to check in BEFORE you place your order or you won’t get any points and they don’t offer a way for you to add them after the transaction is complete even though you can put your number in. Customer service is lacking, and I’m not sure if that means people don’t enjoy taking orders or they’re honestly just trying to hear your order.

Overpriced, gave us small instead of medium drinks. Barista argued we got what we ordered. Drink was barely warm. Asked if whole milk was okay but hot chocolate was made with water.

Excellent coffee. The bakery was really good- nice crunchy scones. Open and airy inside and nice outside tables. Traffic a bit noisy, but hey, it's downtown Santa Barbara.

😒 Coffee. Paradise Blend (lightest) Drip + bag. I'd recommend this shop to traditional coffee drinkers. I even bought a bag for a friend. However, "Roasting Company" is subjected to the realm of Specialty Coffee criticism. My review is to keep a reference of coffee shops I may want to return to. For "Turn n' Burn" coffee, 2 stars is very generous. (A 1 star would reflect a Charbucks or similar coffee shop). Traditional Dark coffee drinkers would enjoy the place.

Back in SBRC after a decade. Didn’t disappoint! Excellent oat flat white and very well cooked bagel sandwich. Ambience good with lots of different seats and spaces. The roastery gives a lovely coffee aroma when it is working.

Santa Barbara roasting company was my first non Starbucks coffee place and i decided to visit them again. Their latte and macchiato are still very good. Highly recommend

Awesome coffee and hot tea. Service is friendly and helpful. I made new friends that work here and meet all sorts of cool people in the area. I like it is close to grocery store and UPS.

Santa Barbara Roasting Company is a local institution. Known as “RoCo” to its patrons, this is the ultimate slacker café. It’s a homey, open space decorated with whimsical murals. Many a wizened old-timer sits at its tables, reading dog-eared books and debating politics with friends. Unfortunately the “slacker” label also applies to the staff. Service is stunningly slow. Recently I waited 9 minutes for my espresso, with only one other customer waiting for a coffee. Apparently the staff is more in interested in their ongoing conversations than in providing service. When I tried to approach one for the obvious purpose of complaining, she fled with a sneer on her lips. Coffee is old style, roasted in house with many possible selections. Typically the minimal pastries and food runs out long before the day’s end. A sign posted near the register, which says pastries are half off after 4, is always ignored.

My future sister-in-law has been here before and recommended us to come here to do some studying/wedding planning with my fiance. When we first entered, I needed to adjust to the amount of decor it has. After we sat down for a while, the decor kind of grew on me and it felt nice.

Cool place to do some studying, but the coffee wasn't good, which was really surprising to me since they're a roasting company. The cold brew was really watery and the americano had an acidic taste. My mom got a tea with cream and she said it was good, though, and they have a nice selection of food.

A good variety of flavored coffee options and pastry options. Bagel sandwiches (which are made to order) and premade breakfast burritos. The coffee is OK quality but wasnt my favorite. Good seating at this location

This would have been a 5 star review if it weren't for the non-existent service I received. I walk into the cafe and the lady at the front register said absolutely nothing: no "hello" , "welcome", "how are you doing", nothing. No emotion whatsoever. I've never experienced this at a cafe before in the SB area. Not sure if they were having a bad day or whatever, but you should at least acknowledge your paying customers. The coffee was great as usual and I appreciate the free refill(s) for up to an hour after ordering. The coffee alone propped this review up to 3 stars. I will be returning a couple more times before updating my review (depending on if the service improves).
