Best bug museum in the Albuquerque/Santa fe region. It's at a weird location next to Ross but still a respectable exhibit. I was impressed by their pinned insect collection. Their dedication and technique is unbelievable. Even to the tiniest mites. It was also quite enjoyable to see their two axolotls in person, one of them named aptly toothless.

A group of us were in town for the holidays, and decided to give this place a try. I called ahead to see if we could get a tour, and Wade was so willing! He was patient and answered all our questions, told us all kinds of cool stories, and even let us hold some bugs! Beth greeted us as we entered, and was so welcoming. Thanks to y’all for hosting us, and making this whole experience unforgettable. We had a BLAST!

Great place to spend an afternoon. Great exhibits with lots of information. And they let you hold snakes, spiders and insects. It's right at the mall so you can split up to do some shopping if you need to. Check it out!

It was a lot of fun! You get to be a little closer to the bugs than in most zoos. There are lots of bugs and creepy crawlies to check out plus a huge collection of mounted bugs. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that it's a little pricier than you'd expect for an exhibit in a mall. (But it is still less than a visit to the Children's Museum). Definitely a good way to spend an hour or so.

We LOVED this place! Mr. Greer was so fun and knowledgeable. He told us a lot of interesting things about his collection. Mr. Harrell taught us about all the cool bugs we were able to hold. This is a cool, must-see place when you're in Santa Fe.

Small location inside a mall, but definitely worth going. Large collection of preserved species and a good variety of live bugs and animals. They even have bugs for holding!

Very cool selection of live insects, reptiles & a few other kinds of animals (including a lungfish & axolotls!!!). Impressive displays of preserved insects & fossils. Loved the names of the different animals, a lot of them were cheesy, but adorable. Gift store had great selection of toys, small fosils, edible bugs, etc. Inexensive entry fee for the museum. You have the opportunity to touch the safe insects. Entrance to bug museum is inside the Traders market (which also has cool stuff to look around&see).

You should ABSOLUTELY visit this pop-up bug museum! It's a small space, but full of cool bugs and reptiles! You don't have to touch anything, but there are opportunities to handle some insects and reptiles. The staff was very friendly and informative too.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent displays of the critters whether alive or not. Some of the shelving holding the displays is not very sturdy. The guy who helped the kids hold the insects really knew his stuff and was great with the kids. Also very reasonable price to get in and they didnt gouge in the front shop. A great inexpensive and fairly quick stop for the kids.

I was not prepared for how cool this place is. We (4 adults, 3 kids) spent about 30 minutes there, but it was really neat. We had the opportunity to hold a few bugs, and a snake. The kids walked through it at least twice to check everything out. The man handing us the critters was so knowledgeable, even the kids were engrossed in what he was telling them. It was fascinating, even for someone who hates bugs (me). I'd easily come back. Kind of in a weird area, coming from someone who lives out of state, but don't let that deter you. It's absolutely worth it, at least once, especially if you have kids!

My children absolutely LOVED this museum! My wife and I did too! This is the best hands-on experience with animals I have experienced. The staff was super friendly and my kids got to handle many cool (and creepy :-)) insects. The pictures and videos were great, and the gift shop had very nice things to choose from. We all left very happy after this visit! Strongly recommended.

A true gem in Santa Fe. Fantastic place for kids and adults! Tons of well cared for reptiles, insects and more! The animals here are better cared for than the ABQ zoo! And in better enclosures!

This is a wonderful museum that will open your eyes to the wide variety of insects and other terrestrial arthropods as well as reptiles. These are life froms that are widely varied and this museum may be the catalyst for an interesting new hobby.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Very nice. Wish they had more samples, and more things for kids, but there were several booths. There was a great eatery area with places to sit indoors. Very true to New Mexico. Street performers added to the charm. Didn't see any port-a-potties or public restrooms.
