Wow wow. The most amazing Pastrami sandwich from the deli. We went 3 times in 4 days. This place is very profesional and a super cute courtyard in the back.

Hector's Bistro is definitely one of our favorite places to dine in Antigua. The food is always good, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere laid back and fun. Everything is good, but we always order the bacon wrapped dates as a starter. We also order the fit n chompy deli sandwich at least twice a week. They also have one of the best breakfasts in town. You will also find live music most nights of the week. Highly recommended!

Love the new location! Hector's was a staple for us at the old location with just a few tables. The current location is much larger, livelier, open air courtyard, and a much larger menu too. The food is very good, entrees like fish of the day and beef bourgognon are fancy and delicious and so is their pizza and hamburgers. Great service always. Yum!

The place to eat, if you're visiting Antigua! The restaurant is really relaxed and the food is spectacular. The grilled beef tenderloin with blue cheese chipotle sauce is to die for. After I had eaten it, I couldn't stop thinking about it for my whole trip.

Food is excellent, really flavorful and there is a variety in the menu. The service. Is excellent too, along with the open air atmosphere and second floor being open to the mountains.

Love this place and their amazing food! I first went to hector's with some friends and we have gone back at least 3 more times now. their food and drinks are so good. also, it is a really nice place to sit down and get some work done, you can even go sit by their library if you want to have a more quiet and private space. Their staff is also extremely nice. Please do yourself a favor and try their pizza and hamburgers. you won't regret it.

Ordered the steak and fries, and this was the tastiest steak I have ever had in my entire life! The restaurant is so cute, and the waiter even lit a cute little candle for me at my table. I don’t speak too much Spanish, but everyone was still super friendly!

Lovely restaurant. We went twice while visiting Antigua. Their food was delicious and so was the ice cream with olive oil & salt. Very friendly and professional service. 10/10 recommended

Good tap selection for the area, great service, fun vibe and atmosphere, but this review is really here to focus on one thing... the PIZZA is some of the best EVER! Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection that's almost as good served cold the next morning as it is fresh out the oven.

Hectors has the best bacon cheese burgers in the world (as much as I know of it). The waiters are excellent and the place itself is warm and welcoming. Some night they have live music and it's usually someone from the area. It's an excellent experience all around!!!

Great spot for lunch or dinner, loads of tables but all cozy spots. Nice selection of different dishes, something for everyone. The French onion soup and salad were delicious. My husband loved his burger (loaded with toppings) and sweet potato fries. There’s a craft brewery on tap as well so you can try some of antiguas finest craft beers

I loved this restaurant very much when I visited Antigua, Guatemala. The ambiance is perfect and the service is great. The food is very very good and portions are enough for one person. The bathrooms are super clean and spacious and I appreciated that very much! They also have live music which is just okay but nice to have in the background. I guess the singers are okay so I won’t say that is a minus towards the restaurant. If you drink they have bar that shares the same space and caters to the clients on the restaurant too. Try the fish, kids chicken nuggets and the vanilla tea! Below are some photos.

Delicious food, and the kindest service. The whole place has natural flowers and goes around a fountain that just gets you relaxed while enjoying your meal. I had a gorgonzola pasta with a local brewed beer. It was amazing!

salas split in 2x, double Filet Mignon, beef stew skillet, 2x lemonades and 1x local beer, everything delicious, gourmet for U$55. highly recommended.

Large restaurant bar venue. Regular (local) live music which is fantastic. Wide ranging beer selection is great with imperial stouts on offer. Large courtyard and terrace rooftop with views. Even has a library and chesterfield sofas for added comfort. Food is also good - I’ve had steak strips and the hector burger - both well done. Recommended

I came across Hector's Bistro while walking around Antigua and decided to give it a try simply based on appearance from the street. Right as I entered, I was warmly greeted and welcomed by staff. I sat on the 2nd floor, overlooking the interior courtyard. It was a great way to enjoy dinner while also people watching (if you enjoy doing that). I ordered the French Onion soup, and it was amazing with the cheese perfectly toasted! I did not think it needed more salt as others have posted, but everyone has their own taste palette. For my main course, I ordered the roasted duck breast, which is served on top of roasted grapes and a potato/carrot au gratin. The seasoning on the duck was perfect and it paired so well with the roasted grapes. The potato/carrot au gratin was something I have personally never had before but it was pleasantly delicious. For dessert I ordered the Créme Brulée with Kahlua. Due to time, I ordered this to go and did not eat until later. It was good but I can not give this a fair review as I believe it would have been much better at the restaurant, fresh from the kitchen. I doubt anyone from Hector's Bistro reads these reviews, but if so, I would personally like to give "Fernando" a personal shout out. He was my server and he gave me such great service. He was very attentive but not bothersome. I do not like to be bothered too much while eating, but I also do not like to have to track someone. Fernando did a great job and made my evening at Hector's absolutely perfect! Thank you Fernando and to the rest of the staff behind the scene at Hector's Bistro. I look forward to returning to Guatemala and specifically, Antigua so that I may try another delicious dish.

The food we had was delicious! We ordered el Vikingo and Don Corleone gourmet sandwiches with some potatoes. We sat in a beautiful courtyard for brunch!

Had dinner here and it was really good from the start. Drinks were good but the food was fantastic. I ordered the open face beef sandwich at medium temp, 10/10. Great and attentive service. The place is intimate but still casual. Highly recommend! 👍🏽

Very good service, and delicious food. A bit on the pricier end comparatively, but the added quality justifies the higher prices. I sat in the dining room during my first visit and enjoyed live music, and I sat on the terrace for my second visit, which was equally lovely. I had the open faced beef sandwich on my first visit and the fish of the day on my second, and both were incredible. I will definitely return!

Great place with inner garden and even a small chill area with a library, and then board games, cocktails and ice cream. You could basically live in here. The food and the service were great. Not many vegan options but there where some. I had a veg dish that was meant to be shared on my own and it was great. Good selection of beers. My friends got the hamburger that looked great. Tables were a bit odd because of an outer edge that made eating a bit difficult but hey you can't ask to change all tables haha.

Had a tasty dinner at Hector's Bistro last night. Outdoor seating, romantic ambience, great music & yummy food would sum up my experience there. I had their mixed veggie platter with mushrooms and sweet potato fries, beef bourguignon, and a sangria. The sangria absolutely stood out. One of the best I've ever had. Just the right amount of fruit and red wine mixture. Price was reasonable. Will definitely return.

Decent pricing for a wide variety of good food, including some Guatemalan traditional dishes. The atmosphere is fantastic with live music, indoor and outdoor seating, and even a library room to enjoy drinks.

We were in Antigua for 4 days and ate in this place 3 times… That’s how good the food is! Fresh and absolutely delicious. On Saturday night they had live music which made it even better ambience. Love, love, love this place!

We came back here twice during our stay in Antigua. The food and service were excellent. Had a delicious beef bourgignon the first time and on the second visit, we opted for pizza which was very tasty. Cool courtyard out the back to eat in with live music. There is also a gorgeous little snug room with an open fire to enjoy your glass of wine in after dinner. Would definitely come back here.

We came here as a treat to ourselves and had a wonderful experience! Every dish we ordered was beyond delicious and the service was very professional and friendly.

I literally only went for dessert and it was my favorite dessert stop the whole trip 😍 chocolate fondante aka chocolate lava cake. Just as it sounds, but with a mature twist. Heavenly chocolate sauce filled dark chocolate cake, with yummy ice cream? / cold side thing with an awesome texture. Not really ice cream. And some dollops of yummy raspberry sauce around. Ah *chefs kiss* Cute ambiance and friendly staff. Would return for savory dish next time!

Cute garden restaurant with large variety of options for food and drinks. I got Hector’s burger with sweet potato fries and was not disappointed! The burger was cooked just the way I like it and has a great sauce. The sweet potato fries were crispy and fresh. The sparkling sangria was a good size and tasty. I wish I had more time to go back and try more dishes.

A gem here in Antigua. The dishes are clearly based from fresh ingredients.We had several dishes and I was impressed by them. The pizza was probably the best I have had in Antigua.

Currently eating here and the food is tasty, the atmosphere is great with live singer and our server Carlos is professional. We will definitely be back when we return to Antigua.

They expanded due to their popularity. This is the sad part about being so popular. I remember the small intimate place with amazing food. No longer the same vibe. The beef bourgignon was decent but not like a remember it.

Absolutely loved the salad. Sweet potato fries were delicious and so was everytging else. Great!

Nice place to eat, the food was very good specially Lomito a la Plancha, it was so good I recommend it. Atmosphere is nice also you can relax and chat with friends and families

We had dinner when it was raining , and we got wet completely even with an umbrella. We ordered pizza and steak, the food were great. The pizza might compete with Angie Angie, but the cheese is not thicker enough. The steak is better than ni Fu ni fa, and with cheaper prices. Fries are good too. However, the bill has charged us 10% tips , but when we paid, seemed the waiter still awaited us to pay extra tips ( we waited the changes about 5-7 minutes, and the waiter stood at front of cashier without any action to check computer system. After we pushed him, he just operated the computer and gave us changes. Besides, as it was raining, the restaurant turned on the heater as we sit around the balcony, but when the guests left (sit below the heater), they turned off the heater and included us there are still 3 tables guests sit around the heater……

My family and I returned to ANTIGUA after having first moved there 40 years ago. There were 23 of us all together with children and grandchildren. We enjoyed several food options around the town but Hector‘s was always our go to first choice. We had our best experiences there with service and with the quality of the food for the price. Breakfast lunch and dinner are always excellent. They have a really cool reading room so that if you want to go there for a coffee or tea and just sit quietly that is available too. The beef medallions were tender and cooked to perfection. If a cheeseburger is more up your alley, they are wonderful too.

Love how this place has grown over the years. Great food, service and ambiance. A must visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very good pizza, steak dishes and even poutine.

AMAZING FOOD! I came here on a Saturday afternoon for some lunch and even thought it was pretty busy, we were still able to find a table. The device was quick great, with really nice servers too. The food was A M A Z I N G! Definitely some of the best I’ve had in Antigua for a while. We started with some sweet potato fries which were really crispy and flavorful and some really tasty roasted tomatoes. The pizza with prosciutto was great as well as the burger, but the superstar was definitely the Tenderloin! The sauce was delicious and it was marvelous, you cannot leave Hector’s without trying this dish!! 100% recommend!

We had a large group dinner here. The food was great, and the restaurant itself is quite sprawling with many interesting spots to sit and enjoy a meal. Definitely do not go here if you're in a hurry. We dined early on a weeknight, and the service -- while friendly and helpful -- was painfully slow. We arrived at 6:15, and just barely made our 9pm pick up. Many of our entrees arrived at different times, which made the dining experience a bit awkward as some of us had been served while others waited another 15 minutes or more for their meals. This pace was very uncoordinated. But, that said, the atmosphere and food were quite good, and we did enjoy the company. Would potentially go back on the off-chance something was awry in the kitchen the night we were there. More vegetarian options would be appreciated.

I loved everything about this place! Food, atmosphere, service, terrace! It’s a pity that I found it only at my last! Highly recommended!
