Discovered for the first time during a free tour in the afternoon, my wife and I returned to this center in which you pass in front of very beautiful murals.

The Historic Center of Santa Marta is one of the most beautiful in Colombia, it has colorful trinitarias, balconies, colonial houses, a variety of restaurants, bars, commercial premises, recreation areas, fun, gastronomy, culture, administration and commerce! There are options for everyone!

A lot of magic in the place, knowing a little more about the history of the country, knowing where Simon Bolívar died, where he was buried, exciting, also knowing the first church in the country, knowing that Santa Marta will soon be 500 years old, makes us feel proud As Colombians, always taking care of all these sites will be very important for the next generations. The guide who took us around the place explained everything to us in a very detailed and very understandable way.

Just loved my time in Santa Marta. Less frenetic and showy than Cartagena and safer feel than Medellín or Bogota. Really liveable city on the Caribbean coast. The water desalination plant just outside town can make it a bit smelly and it’s a working port. Best to avoid the Calles closest to that area (1-12), especially at night. The historical centre is a charm of faded grandeur. Lots of beggars and homeless, the poverty is raw. Great food choices for range of budgets.

Good night. I would like to share my experience traveling with the Polaris Ways agency. Firstly, I would like to mention that I really liked the attention of the advisor Luis Arturo Ávilez, since at all times he was attentive to the entire process from start to finish, he advised us very well in terms of places and budgets. From what I said above, I would like to say that I have been very satisfied because I discovered many fantastic places in the City of Santa Marta and the experience has been very satisfactory.
