👍👍 I just ate the ever amazing special at El Rego. Mongolian Ginger Beef with a happy hour Coco Killer Cocktail. Firstly I’d just like to mention that I am a badass vaquero. I’ve served in the military, lived in a cave for 7 years, I once ate an entire aeroplane and I beat a camel to death with a loaf... People often mention Santa, Marta, Rego,

I just ate the ever amazing special at El Rego. Mongolian Ginger Beef with a happy hour Coco Killer Cocktail. Firstly I’d just like to mention that I am a badass vaquero. I’ve served in the military, lived in a cave for 7 years, I once ate an entire aeroplane and I beat a camel to death with a loaf of bread. But the pleasure of eating the Special Mongolian Ginger Beef at El Rego reduced me to the squeals and hand flapping of a valley girl who hasn’t seen her BFF for over a week. Ghengis Khan will be squirming in his grave knowing that the home of Mongolian cuisine has moved to Northern Colombia. Keep kicking those goals chicos 👍

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Idaho, so I have extremely high expectations what a good burger and some fries should be and this place may be exceeded what I could do. The hot sauce is DIVINE and made in house. They have a selection of local craft beer that is a million times better than the local piss they call cerveza. I also highly recommend the the margarindo, it's a tasty little ninja that is lethal and amazing. I'm eating here every night is Santa Marta now.

Warning, there may be a humiliating surprise at the end of the meal There was a good band playing and the setup was crammed but I liked it, which justified a higher cost for the food. However, something completely ruined the experience at the end of the meal. As I was waiting to pay, then the owner and my waitress came out to tell me my money seemed counterfeit. I had just got it from an actual bank branch, and so I didn’t understand how a bank would miss it, and plus it looked real and had all the markings (I live in Colombia). Note: it was not counterfeit as soon discovered. It was an embarrassing situation in front of the other customers as I walked past the band and was required to leave my Iphone phone as collateral and spend the next hour of my Saturday night going back to my hotel for my bankcard, and then searching for a bank ATM, then back to the restaurant to pay at a late hour. Before going to the ATM, I showed the money to the staff of my hotel (Hotel Isabella) and all said the money looked/felt real. After examination, they even used an official bank-scanning machine they owned that showed it was in no way fake or counterfeit. I took a photo of the machine showing it was real (note: I posted the actual photo with the bank scanner lighting up the valid markings). When I finally got back to the restaurant, I showed them the photo. They said they were just trying to be careful, and left it at that. I’d recommend that they’d be more careful with such accusations as they are embarrassing and very time consuming to the customer/tourist who may be forced to leave and walk alone around somewhat sketchy streets late at night looking for a functional ATM. If they choose to continue to be paranoid about customers' cash, I’d recommend accepting credit cards so that customers don’t have to leave their $800 cell phones for collateral for a $8 burger. If you choose to go, present your money first to see if they will accept it.

Great atmosphere, amazing food from Anthony's Cucina. Probably the best burgers in Santa Marta with plenty of options. Also El Rego is one of a handful of bars in Santa Marta that host live music. A great place to hang out, eat, meet nice people and enjoy life in beautiful Santa Marta. Highly recommended! 😀

This place is one of a kind in Santa Marta! The atmosphere is chill and the owners are warm and friendly. After a day at the beach and watching the sunset, this place has delicious cocktails with a good happy hour and food (I had the burger and chocolate lava cake. Yum!) The great live music adds to the whole "tranquilo" coastal vibe of Santa Marta. I definitely recommend El Rego.

We stayed at El Rego twice. The restaurant is small but exceptionally good. Gustavo is very attentive in service and super nice. The cocktails are very well mixed. The highlight is the food: the chicken wings are a poem. The burgers taste excellent. The fries are world class. If we end up in Santa Marta again, we hope that El Rego is still here.

Cristina was our waitress. She served our shot of Jose Cuervo and my mother was watching us like: “wtf”? Nice ambiance, music soft, perfect place to talk with friends. Our bill was 38000, around 9 dols all.

The chief Anthony is one of the best chiefs in Santa Marta, everything on the menu is tastes so good, and is well priced too. Added bonus but the playlist is always on the money there too! Great spot to hangout for some drinks too, lovely atmosphere where regulars usually swing in during the evenings.

đŸ«€ Overhyped. The morrillo was dry and the margarita pizza was average. Just a reminder you did not come to Santa Marta for the food.

👍 Another hostel guest and I came here for dinner as she recommended it. The customer service and ambiance is nice. It’s not a big space inside but they do have outdoor seating. It took a little while for the drink and food but maybe it’s just how the Colombian culture is. The waiters were accommodati...

👍 A lovely place close to the marina with a great view. Went on a Tuesday night for a beer and decided to stay for a meal because of the atmosphere. Good music playing and not abnoxiously loud like a lot of places here in Colombia. The burgers were out promptly and were about what you would expect for...
