BE VERY CAREFUL. There are women who solicit and men they work with who will target you especially as foreigners. I’ve seen them following many people especially people who seem drunk and chatting them up. Even when you ignore them or say no many times they follow you and try to get close or touch you then pickpocket you. I’ve caught them in the act. If you decline them they ask for help to get some food and then wait to rob you there. I fell into this trap and bought them hamburgers then had to literally had to fight off 3 of them at the same time when they tried to snatch my wallet and phone. I went back to take pictures so you can be aware.

It would be nice if you weren’t harassed by every single person to buy something. My friends were literally afraid to go down most streets at night and they are Colombian. I wasn’t afraid but there wasn’t any savory people to interact with. Most people just stare at you or ask for money or just look like they may rob you. I wouldn’t come here alone.

Nice little park by the center of downtown. I don't know how late it's safe to stay here but lots of activity surrounding bars and restaurants. You can buy beers from vendors and hang out, park is generally well lit. Few statues for that picture taking moment.

Parque de los Novios is a great place to people watch, dine in the mini restaurants nearby, grab a drink and walk while checking out the street performances. There are lots of police around so it feels safe. They are also mini benches but some of the bars are missing. All I enjoy walking by here in the evening or early mornings for exercise. When it rains everyone gathers underneath the shelter and it’s very cute. You can also find people selling beer and ice cream. But overall my favorite are the street performers.

Grate place. Surrounded by hostals, . bars, clubs and restaurants. Streets and alleys going out/in from the park,are also full with a variety of places to visit. Beutifull facades, one block from "El malecón" (seaside park), and two blocks from parque Simon Bolivar, also worth visiting, in this park is the Gold Museum and La Alcaldía.

This is the central of santa marta pretty much. Here you can find all types of shops. From souvenirs to restaurants that sell all types of food. I went at night and there were loads of people walking around. With music playing everywhere and the smell of food in the air. You can't pretty much take your pick on where to eat and im sure it would be good. But you need to visit here when you come to santa marta .

It's an awesome place... The night life around it's awesome. It's a really good experience to live, there are a lot of places to eat, drink, dance or just hang out. And for everything there are many choices, whether you want italian food, mexican food, american food, whether you want to dance salsa, reggaetón, bachata. It's very good. I highly recommend it.

It's a very well placed part where there are lots of options for restaurants and food and drinks but it can be very crowded and there is a lot of people selling you a lot of different stuff and begging for money which I think it's quite they're nice I think it will be better if the locals or take count of this so they can actually do something about it mostly with the local sellers they should have options so they can sell their own stuff without asking the people all the time if they want to actually buy something like cigarettes or chiclets and this kind of different stuff that you might not need and it's also very noisy so if you want to have a nice conversation it's very hard and there are need of more benches for people to sit and enjoy the beauties of the architecture of these of this park I think it's a very nice place to visit it's very important if you coming to Santa Marta to come to this park mostly if You are traveling with your girlfriend

Parque de los Novios was a beautiful experience in Santa Marta, Colombia. During the day there are friendly vendors, lots to see while you walk around and it great for families. At night it becomes more for couples with lots of romantic restaurants and dance clubs to spend the night dancing away. Definitely on my list to go back and visit, highly recommend it.

Parque de Los Novios is the hub of SANTA Marta. Every Taxi driver knows where to find it. In the early hours of the morning it can be quite dead, however as early morning turns into mid afternoon it starts to comes alive. A complete transformation, so much so that some evenings it’s almost standing room only. Many street performers, talented musicians line the fringes of the square and play for those seated at the surrounding Restaurants. You will also see some talented street dancers making several rounds during the evening. The occasional human statue will often be around to grace your presence. They will ask for tips, and please give them something. Most are from Venezuela which is currently in crisis and this is how they support their families, you have to respect them for that, they work long hours often in the bit sun for just a few dollars. The occasional cheeky child will approach with a cute smile and ask for money, you would think they would be in kindergarten but this is the sad reality of there lives, however they are often very intelligent and street smart, generally their parents are close by or within a few blocks distance. It’s hard not to resist their beaming eyes as they plead for help, most have genuine needs, but if you are here for a while, just note that they will recognise you and you’ll be a favourite target for them to return to and beg. I’ve found best to share food as you can never be sure where the money will go... if you’re eating a pizza why not give them a slice, you could probably do with saving the calories if you’re honest, and hey, you’re just making room for the Gelato Icecream also close by. Tables and Chairs will appear mid afternoon and it’s a great spot to quench your thirst with a chilled Club Colombia. For the main part it’s safe and a has a great night atmosphere. That being said, have your wits about you, if you are an obvious foreigner, you will almost definitely be propositioned... for many different nameless things, even from the most honest looking citizen. But don’t let that put you off, I’ve spent many a nice evening here. During the day you can find shade under the trees and sit on a bench to read, street vendors will approach you can buy anything from, ice cream, hot chocolate or evening have your shoes shined as you are sitting down. I’d occasionally come here to read. Police have a good presence here and are very helpful and friendly. The waiters are also very friendly and feel free to practise your Spanish on them.
