    - We got a room that was half the size of what we originally booked. They didn't make any comment about that with the check in and we found out after entering the room after two hours of waiting. - The bathroom was full of cockroaches... We complained about that and the response was: "it's normal here, they are everywhere in Santa Marta" (we spend in total about 7 nights here in other places in Santa Marta and never saw one) because of this we had to use the public showers and toilets. - It's not possible to close the window so the room was full of mosquitoes. - we were next to the poolbar and had to ask around 23:30 to put the volume down (we had to work at 6:00) - we asked for something to kill the mosquitos and the guy said he would have a look to find something. But unfortunately we never saw or hear from him again. In the morning the manager/owner supposed to be in the reception, but he never showed up. The receptionist, which is super uninterested, was just texting with the owner and didn't speak to us at all. To hear after 15 minutes of waiting: no, were not gonna do anything for you. But that was already expected if you see the standards of service and hygiene in this place. This was definitely the worst place of our two month stay in Colombia. They charge premium but don't have much to offer..

Unfortunately very noisy by night they said that the music was stopped by mid night but they finish at 3 am. The beds are so hard.

I liked the location. It's near the beaches. The AC is only on from 10pm. One of the two toilets did not have a toilet seat, the other one looked old and dirty. There were constructions inside the hostel during the stay. The pool water did not look clean.

Nice surprise downtown. It's a cozy, decent budget hostel. The pool social area is pretty with a great vibe. The staff is extremely friendly, flexible and available. There are some details on the organization and structure that they can improve, but overall the stay was chilled and fun.

The rooms didn't have water for over 12 hours and in the middle of the night it started to rain an there were some water roof leaks. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only 2 good things about this place is good location and nice staff. Otherwise the place is very very dirty (bathroom is horrrible), the beds are super uncomfortable, and the place is very loud (the bar which is right next to the rooms plays very loud music). Overall a horrible experience.

Really nice Hostal with fair prices. Great service, perfect location and delicious food. I highly recommend LA Villana!!

Lively, clean hostel in a great location. Stayed here two nights and found the rooms clean and huge. There is also a pool and bar in the communal area. It is quite noisey and the bar plays music until midnight so it's not the place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

There are some great things about this hostel— clean, stairs to the top bunk, a yummy breakfast with homemade bread, and a good location. The one big complaint I have is the blasting of terrible music until midnight. The dorms surround the common area, and the bar plays music with a strong base, make my to hard to sleep. There were a total of 3 people quietly chatting at the bar on a Sunday night, and for some reason the music still needed to be loud. I asked the reception if they sold ear plugs and they said no. He then offered to ask the barman to turn the music down, and they turned it down slightly. Do not expect to sleep well until after midnight.

Staffs were decently friendly but pushed quite hard on selling us the package for Tayrona Park. The room (2 storied private) we stayed in had a lingering smoke smell to it, which was not pleasant for the first night. The shower was somewhat broken. Breakfast was good (scrambled eggs with 2 roasts, fruits, and juice). The room was somewhat noisy with a high-pitch machine voice being audible at random times during the night.

Very nice Hostel in the middle of santa Marta Tops: Very cute lounge and bar, Not expensive, nice beds, Awesome breakfast. Nice young environment, nice Tours directly from the hostel Tips: The bathroom furniture can be improved. Also make sure you clarify about when they will be cleaning your room.

Good for the price. Was a bit loud at night and services were middle of the road. Staff was friendly.

Pool was filthy, kitchen is poorly equipped, receptionist is never there to open the door, I had to remind them for my change as it's cash only, breakfast was late, room was hot as hell, no social ambience, staff played loud music and refused to turn it off until midnight (no one was listening to it?), though all is well renovated and looks nice in photos, wifi is good
