Excellent market! Visited on a Saturday morning. Found a wonderful Gluten Free baker there. Everything was sin gluten. Lots of selection. We bought lots and then to a cafe and sat in the market eating some of the delicious baked goods. Oh yes also lots of fruits, vegetables, fish and meats.

Awesome space, just go and buy some seafood there and they will cook it for you. Great wine also!

Old fashioned produce, fish, meat, baked goods, cheese, variety of sausages and cured meat and flower market with hundreds of vendors open daily 0800 to 1500. You'll also find other vendors on the surrounding streets selling all kind of things including clothing items and homemade items like jams and jelly and so on. There are also a number of restaurants in the market or on the streets surrounding the market. There is a restaurant in the market that if you take your fish or meat there they cook it for you for only 5€. The caveat is you have to buy your side dishes and beverages from them, which is fair after all. Even if you don't buy anything it's worth going for a tour.

Great market with all types of products. Tour guide mentioned that if you buy meat or shell fish somewhere inside will cook it for you for five euros? Not sure if true but no reason to doubt him.

Beautiful little market. All types of food and the last row has many little cafes and restaurants.

By far this is the best sea food market in whole of Europe. Fresh produce. Well organized. Not at all touristy yet an authentic experience of Spanish gastronomy. Heaven for cuisine hunters

I will put 5 stars just for the navajas/navallas (the finger like seafood shells). I have tried a few shell sea food in general ( oysters, mussels, clams, percebes, scallops etc) but these things are out of this world! Also the service is great and the place is very authentic

The market has a long history. Unfortunately after visiting twice, I did not see the market very busy. There are a few food stalls open but geared for tourists. A handful of the fresh fish and meat counters were open. It is an interesting side visit but not a major attraction. Some of the food stalls are Michelan recognised but with limited hours. There are food items packaged to buy and take back to your home country but they are heavy. The wine bar is nice if you are there later in the day.

Nice experience. I went to the food court where we tried Octopus a la gallega and a good wine. I would say that prices were high, but flavor and service was very good

This is really a great market, offering indoor as well as outdoor shopping. There are so many things on offer and to see. Also good for getting a gist of the local colour. Behind the market, towards a church, is a little road packed with tapas bars and cafés which always look very inviting.

Very interesting market. I love markets and this wasnt disappointing. It sells from vegetables, fruits to wine or bacalhau (cod fish). One of the corridors is full of different places to eat.

This is a good market with a lot of produce on offer however I would say it is a little worse than other markets in Spain. If you want to try food here there are a few options however most of the things on offer are produce that you might want to take home. This market caters less for tourist than other cities but I guess that makes it more authentic! The architecture is lovely as well.

It's a traditional market. Amazing and interesting. If you buy seefoods and meats, you can eat in the restaurant that cooks it.

A must visit spot! Loads of great food and great stalls. A true taste of the region. Everyone very friendly. Visitors and stall holders. Many just finished their Camino Walk so elated and buzzing!

Great place to visit and buy local food. Prices are fair. We got some great cheeses, and had a got piece to try before we bought (we both got a big piece each, tried 3 bought 2). Fish looked incredible too.

It's the place where you can see all types of sea creatures fished just in the morning, some sellers offer you to cook the chosen fish/shellfish here and taste it! Fantastic! A must see! P.S. ar the entrance you will see local people selling vegetables and fruits, būt there is no price written. It means one have to bargain until the price is set. Try it out!😉

A beautiful market, quite big actualy. The selection of fishes, mussels, fruit and vegetable is amaizing - i think only local selection no fancy overseas product.

On the edge of the old town area, this Mercado is both an open-air market and also indoor market where one can find fresh fish, meat, and fruits and vegetables. Many small restaurants and eating areas are also there. Don’t miss it. It’s a wonderful part of Santiago de Compostela.

Interesting markets to wander around and get a feel for the types and varieties of food available in this part of Spain. Very busy and popular with shoppers as well as people stopping for a snack or lunch. Short easy walk from the centre of town.

This is a local fresh market. You can buy Jamón, cheese or most of the things. But what I recommended is to come for seafood shopping. When you have your seafood, some restaurants in the market willing to process. If you don't want to buy, there are still many seafood restaurants in the market. We spent around 25-30 euros per head. But it also depends on your budget. Sorry for not having many photos. It's good for lunch. Don't come in the evening because it closes.

Best place in Santiago for fresh seafood, a must stop, try the percebes and sea urchin, and the oysters couldn't be fresher. Love this place
