Beautiful location, hospitable, and unparalleled service. Max, in particular, was extremely attentive and made sure we were taken care of ! Kudos to the team

One of our favourite hotels in our travels across Portugal and Spain! It’s located in a quiet but central part of the old city only a 5 minute walk from the cathedral and surrounded by many restaurants and bars. It has a beautiful garden cafe out back which provides an oasis for a coffee or drink after a day spent exploring. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind throughout and our room with a galeria was beautiful, with an amazing view. We are doing the Camino (Portuguese way) next year and have already decided we’re staying here at the end of our walk. See you in 2024!

We just spent 2 nights at hotel Costa Vella and wished we could have stayed many more. This hotel is really unique... perfect location, simple but cosy and clean rooms with all comfort needed. Downstairs is a cafe where you can take your breakfast or have an afternoon piece of cake... what stabds out most is the way the people go way and beyond to helo, advise and just simply ensure you have a great time... a big thanks!! I highly recommend this hotel!!

Lovely place to stay in Santiago with a precious garden inside and precisely close to city center. Hotel staff is great and breakfast is awesome. Must come while in the city even to only enjoy a beverage on their garden.

One of the most beautiful cafés I have ever seen. Simply stunning so made up for the limited menu. The appalling service, however did not. After waiting over 45 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us, let alone take an order, we left.

Paradise! Came here for a drink. The garden is truly beautiful, with gorgeous flowers, birds singing and nice fountain. Perfect place to relax after finishing our pilgrim hike. The service is really friendly and helpful. We loved our wine, and got some complimentary olives and crisps. Strongly recommend visiting if you're in town.

I can't picture a more perfect stay at a hotel. The reception is amazingly helpful. The cafe on the first floor is delightful and friendly. The terrace garden is beautiful and serene. The rooms are spacious and well put together. I rented a double room for the night on the 3rd floor and my room had an open-up window that allowed me fresh air and sunshine from above when I wanted it. My only fear is that this hotel will be full the next time I want to visit because everything was so fantastic. I will be returning and booking my room well in advance. Thank you for your kindness and service, Hotel Costa Vella!

There is no elevator and the room I had was small, but clean and functional. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was top-notch.

The hotel has a beautiful place in the back, used as a restaurant. It has trees, and a water fountain. Really nice place to eat, or spend time with others.

Nice place to drink a coffee or drink at the garden. Really nice to rewind from the crowded streets. Fair prices and some picar for free.

I found this garden by chance, is part of a hotel and the garden works as a bar open for everyone. The service is very friendly and food is drinks and tapas only. The garden is quite relaxing and worth the visit

This is a review of the cafe as we didn’t stay at the hotel. Five stars, genuinely. Beautiful garden, everything was tasty and the staff were super professional and friendly. A treasure for sure. Extremely dog friendly as well

If I could give it 6 stars I would. Location is perfect. Walking distance from the cathedral and all the great restaurants. Service is outstanding. Antonio and Ricardo are always there to help you. We arrived early for our stay, Antonio lead us to the gorgeous garden restaurant and provided us with drinks and tapas while waited for our room to be ready. We asked for a recommendation regarding a restaurant, Ricardo recommended Amoa. He called and made a reservation for us but lamented that he could not get us seating for the outdoor patio. We went anyway and we're seated in the outdoor patio. I think Ricardo pulled some strings. Some of the rooms have a lounge adjacent to the bedroom overlooking the beautiful garden restaurant. We have come to Santiago 5 times for the "Camino" and every time we stay here. Can not beat the service and attention that we receive at Costa Vella. Everyone working there was pleasant and attentive. We plan on returning to stay there in a couple of years.

This is our favorite spot in Compostela, the place is charming. We have been going here for eight years and have never been disappointed. The staff is very informative, helpful and courteous. The place is beautiful and they are very accommodating, they exceed expectations. Roberto and Antonio are a wealth of knowledge about the area. Dining in the garden is magical, the local people also dine there (says a lot). It’s a frequent stop for people starting or ending the Camino. You’ll not be disappointed. We just left a day ago and will return as soon as we can.

I went to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast and a nice view. The breakfast is a traditional Spanish one - toasts, croissants, almond cake, fresh orange juice and a coffee (a la carta). The service is nice and friendly, but the place is worth going to for its garden. It’s absolutely beautiful with a lot of trees, sculptures and a nice fountain. Better to book in advance

I stayed at the Costa Villa for two days after my El Camino walk. The service, ambiance, and staff are fantastic. The patio with a beautiful garden is a great place to have drinks. I got a chance to meet the owners, and they were wonderful folks. I would highly recommend this hotel in Santiago. The View from the library is beautiful in the morning with breakfast.

We went there for a tea in the afternoon and loved it! The view is amazing, the garden is beautiful with flowers and art, and the staff were very friendly. Would love to have breakfast there before we leave!

My friends and I stayed here in January. It was the most wonderful experience! The garden is beautiful— truly out of this world stunning!! The staff is so kind and accommodating. The cafe and breakfast are delicious. If you have the chance to stay here, do it. It’s the experience of a lifetime.

We stayed two blissful nights: gardens, staff, breakfasts, desserts, views. Can't beat the price, location, and warm hospitality.❤🙌

👍👍 Definitely worth trying theirs tortilla! They offer it here just as a side dish with every drink you ask, even water. Prices are not low here but also not high, it serves just normal dishes you can find in other places. The interior of the restaurant wasn't cosy as for me, tables and chairs are too...
