I have come to this restaurant various times over the years. I am pretty much low key and keep to my self and just enjoy my meal and leave. I had given this place 5 stars but as you can see that has dropped down to 1. I went to dinner yesterday December 18th showed up around 6pm me and my two guest were craving paella and they make a great one here, we were seated and never spoken to again by staff. After about 15 minutes I got up walked to where the staff keeps the menus and got the menus. My guest who by the way is a diplomat got up a few minutes after I got the menu to get a waiter and she didn’t find anyone who could help. We just got up and left. To make matters worst the valet gave us the keys to someone else’s car and told me it was parked on the corner. I let him know it wasn’t my car even though it was way nicer. After around 5 minutes waiting for the valet to find my car I walked back into the restaurant to use the rest room. Our empty table still had the menus we got on the table. Restaurant wasn’t even that full. A lot has changed at this restaurant I remember when I first came here 5 years ago and my guest remember when she use to come daily 15 years ago. After saying I’d come again which I did, and have multiple times. I won’t be coming again. We ended up going to Vizcaya their paella was excellent. —— previos review below. Excellent food and service great atmosphere the churrasco is delicious so was their caprese salad will return again. In the past I had their paella which was delicious.

This is one of the best restaurant in Santo Domingo. They have the best sea food in Santo Domingo. The portion and the serving size is very good and food is delicious and very well prepared and fresh. They really put a lot of work in every dish in the menu. I love this place and goes whenever possible.

Food was really good. We ordered a bunch of stuff from the menu. Wine was in a good temperature. William did a great job with our table. The kids area is a PLUUSSSSSS!!!! IF YOU ARE A DAD/MOM: JUST GO.

Excellent service, food and ambience. My favorite place to gather with friends when I visit my beautiful Quisqueya. Food is exquisite, service is first class. Amazing wine list and cigar lounge. Highly recommend it!

The restaurant itself has a very nice vibe! Very open and elegant with valet parking. The food was good! The service and drinks weren’t as up to par. The cocktails were heavy on the alcohol and not very flavorful. Better off getting wine. Really didn’t like the service… every time we tried to order the waiter kept walking away as if he had somewhere else to be… was very off putting for such a fancy place. Even with one of the dishes that we mistakenly ordered when we mentioned it the server had an attitude and said “This is what you ordered” and walked away. Not sure if the food was worth coming back to but it wasn’t bad. Not one of my favorites though to say the least.

Food is good but overpriced. The salmon was the best dish in the table. Overall it’s a good classic restaurant. Paellas are also great here. I hate the vibes of the place, in my personal opinion, it’s always full of middle-aged men which i just find uncomfortable.

A Spanish inspired restaurant with fabulous atmosphere and wonderful servers. The food was generally very good but the paella was lacking in flavor and was not a proper Spanish paella. It did not have layers of crispiness to the rice, used peas instead of beans and was not seasoned. I would certainly come back again to have other dishes, though.

I have been going to Meson Iberia for 35 years. It is amazing. Excellent Dishes and excellent service. Friendly and very professional staff. Paella is excellent. All seafood is fresh. Estofado de Ternera and Estofado de Ovejo are also one of My favorites. Every time I travel to Dominican Republic, I always visit Meson Iberia several times.

Great and comprehensive Spanish menu, extensive wine list accompanied by highly efficient and friendly service. All of this is complemented by a very pleasant bodega style decor that combines with the food and service to provide a great ambience and a consistently top notch dining experience. Meson is another very well established restaurant frequented by a loyal business clientele during the week and their families at weekends, they are loyal with good reason!

Restaurant has history, but the food is no different than street vendors. veggies soagy. Typical Dominican dishes. Not Spanish cuisine. Steak was rough. Not worth $25 a meal

One of the best restaurants in the DR if you are looking to eat sea food, this is a must in your bucket list, fresh food and great taste for more than 30 years

This was the restaurant that I most enjoyed during my recent visit to the Dominican Republic. We were a party of five and we ordered many different things; everybody complimented food quality. The ambiance is comfortable: decent lighting; comfortable chairs; reasonable table spacing. The menu is extensive and the wine list offers more choices than most in the DR. All prices were reasonable for the quality delivered. The service was European: not effusively friendly but extremely proficient (i.e. just the way I like it). Remember that you won't get your check until you ask for it (i.e. it's considered good service, not bad service) and waiters receive almost nothing of the 10% service charge (i.e. "ley") added to the check. If you like your service, add a 10% to 15% "propina", in cash if possible.

👍👍 The venue is very cute, the view on the ocean is spectacular. The staff was super friendly this day. The food was really good and arrived extremely fast. I had Mofongo (So delicious) and Sancocho (very good)! The only pros was the dessert.
