Fun for a 2 or 3 hour activity on a nice day, the Sapporo Art Park has a lot going on. The feature both traveling exhibits (The Making of Pixar was the outside exhibit when we visited), along with a sculpture garden. The park itself is free to enter (though parking is a flat ¥500), but the other exhibits and sculpture garden charge for admission. At the time of our visit, the sculpture garden was ¥700. Well worth a visit, particularly with kids!

What a wonderful way to spend the day!! Engaging, timeless and interesting sculptures out in the open. The works of art and environment drew me in. I felt like a child entering a world of wonder. The fact that it’s out in nature between beautiful trees and forest made the visit all the more special. A great day out!

A large and impressive sculpture park close to Sapporo. We drove and parking was easy. If you want to experience it all, allow at least 3-4 hours. But with helpful maps and brief explanations provided you could also do a shorter more curated visit.

The Sapporo Art Park is home to the Sapporo Art Museum and Sculpture Park. It is free to enter and there are some outdoor sculptures to see in the grounds. There is paid onsite parking. There are lots of walking paths.

An extensive park that placed a number of outdoor sculptures along the way. Visitors followed the map and put down notes of each art piece carefully, which was quite obviously different from visiting a park or a more casual museum. The entrance fee was rather cheap, it should be nice for a Sunday visit with family if you drove. The location of the park was quite troubling and the bus schedule was rather spare.

Lovely park to walk around, and the buffet restaurant at the Centre is very good with mostly vegetarian type dishes

As a tourist who does not know much about arts, I think this park can be skipped in the trip to Sapporo. It is actually a beautifully designed park. We went on a Sunday when the art museum was closed. The sculpture park was open and has many displays. Even a layperson as myself found it beautiful, but not to an extent that it is worth 1-hour one way from Sapporo Station by public transportation.

The main museum was closed when I visited so I can't comment on that. The park itself is easy to walk around, especially in the cool autumn air. It's a relaxing place to spend a few hours at.

Snow shoes to rent for 500 yen. Fun to walk round the outside sculpture garden and forest. End up at the Japanese food buffet lunch.

Park with a lot of sculpture showcased in different parts of the parks. The entrance require you to buy a 700Yens ticket. Makes for a nice relaxing walk.

I always love to come here. 🥰. Today, has a big great exhibition of Artist Theo Jansen who’s from Netherland. It was wonderful time and got healing. Unexpected things were that Mr.Theo Jansen also come to the museum. Actually it wasn’t on his schedule today. What a lucky! 🤞🍀

Only rating the Sculpture Park area as the museum was closed. Sculpture Park was a nice nature park type of walk but the artist statements for each sculpture was so over the top and indulgent for some pretty minimal abstract work. Luckily it's not too far off from Sapporo if you want to get away from the city- don't expect much though. Most people were there for the lunch buffet.

Lots of fun and culture. The museum by itself is modern and the facilities are clean and well organized. Just next to the hotel there is the outdoor museum full of sculptures in the middle of a forest, it feels like a treasure hunt while you try to find all the attractions

The art park is a wonderful experience with many outdoor art pieces scattered over the large area and rotating installation every few months. A mix of British garden influence with a more rustic Hokkaido country feel.

A fun outdoor park with a lot of unusual artwork. On the day we went there was a scavenger hunt with clues and questions to solve. A very fun time if going with kids of reading ages. Bring a pair of good outdoor shoes as you will be hiking up some mountain trails of dirt. Trail are well maintained but unpaved. Make sure to plan extra time if you want to see everything as it was a much bigger area then we expected and didn't get to see everything. There is a buffet restaurant and sometimes food trucks available, but both were on the expensive side, (1200 for a burger) so consider bringing lunch if that is an issue. There are lots of lovely place/benches to rest at.

Somewhat difficult to get to (there is a bus from the last subway stop on the Nanboku line) but quite nice. Lots of sculptures placed in the woods, so best to visit when the weat is good.

Love the combination of engineering and art in Theo Jensen's beautiful Strandbeests. Wish there were bigger outdoors space to see the Strandbeests really walk. But it was great to be able to see them up close in this museum.
