We were so excited to book this place for dinner after reading all the reviews and seeing the rating on Google. However, we had a horrible experience with the food. We had ordered Nettle Fritters with Hummus, Gluten Free Bread, and Stuffed Peppers with Veggies and Rice. It took a significant time for the food to arrive. Starting of with the first dish - Nettle Fritters with Hummus. The fritters were made with a bread of sorts. The pesto accompanying the fritters was decent but the hummus was extremely bitter. The Gluten Free Bread was the single most horrible thing I have had in my life till date. It tasted like a bar of detergent soap. Really unpleasant to eat and we ended up wasting the whole thing instead of torturing our bodies and eat it. Lastly the stuffed peppers with veggies and rice. This was a decent dish if not for the fact that the stuffing was just potatoes and cheese and no other veggies and rice. Had I wanted to have stuffed peppers with potato I would have ordered this dish. So they need to clearly work on providing the correct descriptions. All the dishes looked good but unfortunately it didn’t work for us.

What a brilliant concept. The food is outstanding, and the space itself is gorgeous. It’s like being in a garden. I loved how many of the local patrons chatted to the staff while we were there. It just has such such an elegant and easy-going atmosphere. My favorite restaurant in Sarajevo for sure.

We visited the place twice and had great dinner each time. Great selection of vegetarian plates and they're very accommodating to people with food allergies as well. Food prepared with fresh ingredients and with a lot of love. If you want to try dishes with nettles, this is the place. It's possible to have each course of your meal, including your drink to have nettles! Try the nettle lemonade and nettle cheesecake for sure. Highly recommended.

loved everything! Menu is very vegan friendly and English friendly (without loosing the spirit of Bosnian cuisine). Restaurant is also very homey and cute. Highly recommend!!

Long waiting time cause it was almost full house and as far as I've been told, there's only one person that makes the entire food for the whole restaurant. Nevertheless, the food was good and if it was guaranteed I wouldn't have to wait another hour for the food, I'd go back. Especially for the vegans: there are two dishes made specially for us, one is a stew and the other is a typical dish (if I do have to recommend one, I'd go for the second, it's called Vegan Sahan). And they made thin pancakes with homemade blueberry jam that was really good.

Lovely little restaurant in Sarajevo, visited in August. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the wait times. We visited on a tuesday and it was moderately busy, but we had to wait a long time to order, receive food and get the bill. It looked like the waiter did most of the work on his own, so hopefully the restaurant can afford another staff member at some point. Luckily, it was not nearly bad enough to make me forget about the great food. Both the moussaka and the pasta were amazing. The nettles in every dish are a really fun touch, and the restaurant uses the ingrediënt well - it is nót a gimmick. The interior is also really sweet, and you can reach the restaurant within a 10 minute walk from the city center(s). The staff was incredibly nice and the overall experience was great. Give it a try if you're in Sarajevo!

Lovely place in the heart of Sarajevo. Food was delicious and atmosphere very relaxed just like at home. We ordered plenty of food and ate it all as everything was delicious. I’ll definitely go there again if I ever visit Sarajevo again!

A cosy authentic Bosnian cuisine with a twist. The owner is very helpful. She saw we were not from around the place, she sat with us and explained the menu to us. It shows how passionate she is about her place.

Just great. Find the place where carnivore and vege people can eat together is difficult + there are gluten free options. And all of this we found here. During our visit there were musicians sitting at the next table. So we had live music (which supposedly is not common) :) It was nice experience with great food, wine and atmosphere.

This was a really interesting local Sarajevo restaurant. We were there as guests so I can't say whether the prices were good or bad but suspect they were OK. The food however definitely makes this worth a visit. If you've heard that you can eat nettles you'd be correct and this is the place to discover how good they are as it seems to be the restaurant speciality. Most things included nettles - including the aperitif whisky. The food was excellent and this is definitely a place to visit.

Food made like at home. That is the main idea sorounding this restaurant. Yet the food didnt feel heavy at all like most other "traditional" restaurants. Keep up the good work.

An unexpected but amazing place with perfect local foods and international vibe. The owner was really congenial and attentive to all the guests. Reservation is a must, so do not miss your chance by not making one.

Super duper! We loved everything and enjoyed the great evening! Great local food & wine, friendly service. Price wise above the average of the region, but it totally worth it! Nothing to complain really! Everything I wish for a relaxing evening to celebrate the start of a long weekend

Lovely family owned restaurant with amazing vegan dishes. All were bursting in umami flavours! The soup and the veganski stew (both with their famous nettle plant pesto) were really incredible. Highly recommend!! Wish we have this place in NYC. Note: Cash only!!

A few steps from the old town, the Singing Nettle is a great alternative to the tourist focused restaurants in the center of Sarajevo. Vegan, vegetarian or classic with meat, the majority of dishes has some sort of a nettle 'twist'. Very nice setting, great multilingual service (I've heard at least three languages spoken 😁) and great, great food at affordable prices. Everything we ate was very tasty 😋 and very unique ❤️. A warm recommendation, do visit if given a chance!

Walking through the front door is a magical step through some sort of warp zone into another time perhaps even another dimension. The friendly staff ushered us to a table where we sat, reviewed the menu and enjoyed the old jazz emanating from somewhere. This perfectly prepared us for the food symphony that was to follow. Seeing this restaurant, specializes in nettles and it is nettle season, we focused on dishes that included those. The appetizer was nettle fritters, with hummus and nettle pesto. Fantastic. The hummus was some of the best I’ve ever had. We also had the seasonal soup, which was something of the borscht, and was very tasty. Entrées followed, all quite amazing, moussaka, some raviolis, and stuffed pepper. Despite being completely stuffed, at this point, we decided to try the desserts which were nettle cakes. These were also exceptional. We also had the house wine which I forgot to mention earlier. Also quite good. We would recommend letting that breathe a little bit before drinking. There was a lot of improvement after just a few minutes. By the way, it should be noted that they have some fantastic vegan and vegetarian options. Overall, this is one of our favorite dining experiences in recent times. A fantastic restaurant and incredible value. Also, a friendly shout out to Sabina who is a fantastic, genuinely kind and fun host. Thanks for squeezing us in!

Great ambiance and delicious traditional food. We tried beef soup, chicken soup, ravioli and papaz cevab. Salads are good also! We finished with bettle cheesecake. Thank you for the experience:)

It was a great experience for 17 of us from İstanbul, Türkiye, who were first time to Sarajevo to dine at Singing Nettle. We arrived at around 10 o' clock, the owner a shining lady Sabina cheered us with pleasure. We ordered almost every item on the menu, which were all local, traditional Bosnian dishes. And we loved them all. We were so late, bu still no complaints :) She and the whole team also arrange us a birthday party after dinner. Everything was great and warm. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, the lights, the music. If you want to see Bosnian Hospitality and taste real local traditional food, do not miss. And please make reservation ahead of time. My favorites are Bumbar, Begova Soup, Sarma, Kadın Budu Köfte, House Wine, Flower Syrup, Sish Kebap Cheers and have a lifetime experience :)

WOW nearly everything is gluten free. Food was amazing and the owner was so much fun to chat and hang out with. Only 6 tables so it is small and intimate and requires reservation. Well worth your time.

Great dinner for those looking to try Authentic Bosnian food. I was a solo traveller put onto a table with another lady which I was told is normal custom in Bosnia. Try the veal with rice and the meatballs.

This is a beautiful place with a unique mix of an atmosphere you get in your grandma's home and a professional restaurant atmosphere. The owner is super friendly and updates the menu according to the season and what's available locally at that time of the year. Menu items containing nettle are an almost forgotten part of the Bosnian cuisine so if you're looking for quality traditional food, look no further!

The food is really amazing and u have to try the chicken soup and the dumplings with beef. I personally like dumplings and if u believe they are all the same I can rest u assured here they aren’t ☺️ they come with yogurt and a green nettle pesto but be careful u should be liking garlic.

The place is fine, but it took a lot of time to get our order and the portions were little. However, the food was good, we took chicken soup, lamb soup, nettle bread and nettle pesto They accept only cash, be mindful of that

Sweet place with some vegan options. It is a small run restaurant so don’t expect your food to be quick. I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere , the nettle cakes were delicious however service was slow , portions are small and the staff seem overwhelmed. You need a starter or two ,a main and a side to be full , although some people were still hungry after that. In reply to their feedback below : I didn’t actually eat carrot and hummus sticks , that was for someone else. I had a share of the nettle cakes , the cottage cheese pie and vegan Sahan and potatoes. My friend had the meat sahan and also commented that he was still hungry. Our table took their time to order but the waiting time on food is an hour after ordering

Long waiting also because the restaurant was full and really busy. However, the place is charming, the food was great and the attention is caring and familiar. It is one of the best places in Sarajevo to try real local food.

Nice and cozy place. Food average. Beans was okay for the price. Klepe too expensive, no particular taste and small portion. Waitress was a bit nervous at the end. 3/5

Small local restaurant a bit out of the "old town", but easy to find. Charming inside. Almost feels like someones home. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Menu was varied and had choices for both Non-Vegetarian and Vegetarian diners. We enjoyed an excellent Cabbage Salad along with stuffed pasta and Nettle Pesto as well as a Veal Stew. Both dishes were delicious. During our meal, we had a table of three older men break out in to song. Shortly after, the table next to us pulled out guitars and had a jam session. Overall great experience and very good food at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Good meal. The lamb with prunes was good. The donuts were fried, dry and flavourless. The humus was delicious. The nettle cake was interesting but not my favourite. The dolmas were light and flavourful. It was filled with cigarette smoke and worked against the food and entire experience. I apologise, I misidentified the lamb as pork. I had the lamb with prunes. It was good - only. one prune on the plate with 2 pieces of lamb.

Once of the best places we’ve experienced in Sarajevo. Amazing food, prices, atmosphere and great host. Got a chance to meet her and have a little chat. This was our last - and most incredible - evening in Bosnia. Thanks for being so welcoming!
