Relaxing beach in the Navy base. Foreigners are not allowed to enter due to security. The base has shops, seafood stalls and changing and shower facility albeit very basic. There are also massage beds by the beach which opens everyday. It is a very good place for family weekend visit. Relax. To get there from the train station there isn’t much choice. You will need to either pay the tuktuk, which charge a rip off fee of 500thb for 12km. The sea is clear at this point and the beach has white sand. but it is ashame there a lot of plastic trashes get washed up on the beach. The Navy need to put more garbage can around and clean up more often to make the place clean.

If you are looking for a picnic place I recommended Dongtan beach , Sattahip. There are white sand beaches and pine trees throughout the beach. Nice sunset view. It closed at 6pm

No Foreigners allowed, only if accompined by a thai, if not you will be turned back. There is a checkpoint entry before road leads to the beach.

Dongtan beach is the place for both local people and tourists to hangout especially on weekend. There’s a lot of water sports and street food. I love to sit and watch sunset. It’s very peaceful and nice beach. In the evening you will see local people have dinner, drink, jogging and chit chat. Here’s also the area for sport event such as triathlon, open swimming competition, jet ski and etc.

Dongtan is a very peaceful part, an extension to Jomtien beach. Trees, beach chairs, and friendly vendors. You can lounge in one of the replying chairs for 100bht for as long as you like or sit on a regular beach chair for what I believe is about 50bht. The area is smoke free, lots of trees with shade that you can sit under if you choose not to try one of the beach chairs. And yes lots of food, fruit and drinks you can order from the restaurants nearby or use one of the food vendors. I have to admit even though I love Jomtien beach I do prefer for a swim to come down to Dongtan beach. And please do not let the perception of Dongtan beach been the "Gay Beach" that keeps you away from it. Dongtam beach is always full of life, international and domestic, everyone is there. Don't miss out, visit and have fun.

Better than Pattaya and Jomtien

Renovated sea front, I was able to get in as foreigner (police check point didn’t ask anything). Not really a beach but nice for a walk or run along the sea. Saturday and Sunday evening there is a market with mostly food.

Nice beach.

No beach - built up breakwater. No problem getting past the guards, they just saluted as I went past. Nice small cafe on the pier - lovely view over the ocean, makes you feel you're on a boat. Went further up the bay, past another guard post, and there is a small beach area there.
