We had some time to check out this historic district in Savannah while staying near bye for a conference. The homes here are historic and the architecture is very nice. My favourite part of this historic district was Forsyth Park and the fountain there as well as the Spanish moss trees all over. The park is a nice place to walk around as well as the area as we walked everywhere. After seeing the homes and Forsyth Park we enjoyed River Street where there’s lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy something to eat and walk along the river where there were vendors selling things. I would definitely come back if ever in the Savannah, Hilton head area again

We had a great time visiting the historic district. Many beautiful ancient buildings (build in 19th century) with great architecture, good parks, famous restaurants, beautiful tree tunnel, good river walk, museums, greenery and finally Church with beautiful architecture are the specialities of historic district. If you are visiting for one day, we recommend using old Town trolley tours of Savannah. Based on our experience this trolley service runs at good frequency and have hope off and on facility at major tourist attractions. For an extensive tour, a 2 day visit is needed for covering all the places. If you are coming by car, one major problem will be parking availability.

Did trolley tours with two different tour companies; two different days (Thursday and Monday) and experienced many different guides and saw wonderful landmarks. If your a tourist visiting Savanah historic district I highly recommend using a trolley tour. There is so much to see and hear about.

We had a wonderful visit. I'd suggest at least 2 or ideally 3 days to fully take in the majority of the sights. Start with an Old Savannah Tours ride on day 1 so you can get a feel for the layout and a history lesson. From then on, if you're able, walk and explore all the squares, restored home tours, and the local fare. Absolutely beautiful and historic district. It's like stepping back in time while still having access to all the modern luxuries.

It's a most see from squares and Forsyth Park, to the cemetery and the basílica of St John and not forget the riverside and all what it has to offer and the waving girl, a lot to see and to enjoy, must visit and the Spanish moth.

This was my first visit to historic Savannah. I only stayed two days, but I had a good time. I used a company called Kelly Tours to get an overview of Savannah. They take everyone through a 90-minute tour first. We had an excellent guide. Then you pick where you want to next. For example, you could call and say I'm at stop 9, I would like to go to stop 5. I called them three times. Each time, it took less than 5 minutes for them to get to me. Some stops were about a 10 minute walk, the weather was nice so I walked some. I feel like I saved so much time, and I saw everything that I wanted to see. I didn't get a lot of good pictures because there are lots of trees and greenspace.

Drove to Savannah GA before the fourth of July. Free parking is located at the Savannahs visitors site. Sunday is free parking anywhere that has a parking meter. There are plenty of eateries, shoppe area, entertainment, music, tours and random events. Nothing new but I stumbled upon Catholic Cemetery towards the local neighborhood away from the tourist attraction. Much more interesting. Creepy but weirdly satisfies my guts for adventure. Neat place. The Scad university area is marvelous at night. The building structures stand out with all the amber lightings. Beautiful and full of majestic history.

A great fusion of downtown and history. Trolley tours are recommended, or a walk down the streets or a visit to any of the 22 parks. All are great way to visit.

Go see all the Squares. That was so much fun for my friend and I. Forsyth Park is beautiful. The city walk is so fun and there are many unique stores to visit. It's a great area to walk but there is a hop on hop off bus to take you to the main sites.

Great way to see the city if you have just a few hours. We took a trolley tour and grabbed lunch at Churchill’s Pub. Such a beautiful city. We will be back for sure.

Wonderful architecture on every corner. History is endless! Love Savannah. Need to stay for three or four days to do it justice. Recommend a trolley Tour for overall perspective.

Interesting history. Beautiful squares with nice houses and wonderful old oak trees. Our afternoon was a little spoiled by a very strange thing though. A man was walking naked through the heart of the busy historic tourist area. He walked down River street as though he was sleep walking without a stitch of clothing. It was sad and disturbing (warming: don’t view the last photo if this disturbs you)

Most site seeing places are entry free, on the river Bank side there was a fireworks 🎆 display for good 20-25 minutes ard 10pm it gets included under Destination fees with ur hotel booking.

Absolutely gorgeous, highly informational. My family and I walked around the area for two hours and enjoyed all the amazing historical buildings, statute, and homes! Highly recommend going and experiencing the culture if you're ever in the area.

One of the most beautiful and fun places in the entire country. There’s so much history and culture here. It’s like stepping back in time. This is the kind of city that you visit and decide to never leave. There’s something for everyone here and it’s one of our favorite places on earth.

What a beautiful city steeped with so much history. We took a 90 minute tour with Old Savannah tours (our tour guide was Hampton- he was fantastic). This is a place we definitely need to come back and spend some time in but if you've got 90 minutes to spare, you should make the detour!

I visited the Savannah Historic District last summer and had a wonderful time! It is such a beautiful area with a plethora of options for food, shopping, and entertainment. Many of the roads or paths I encountered were brick or cobblestone, which are beautiful but can pose issue to those who use wheelchairs or a blind person using a cane. Overall though, the brick walkways were very well kept and didn't seem to pose much of a risk at the time of my visit and there was not a lot of cobblestone. The main roads are paved. There is an area by the riverfront that utilizes a fair amount of stairs spread out, so if someone is in a wheelchair there will need to be a bit of a re-route to get to that specific area of the riverfront. It is a very lively and fun area with a lot of music and lights which is very fun, but if you are someone who struggles with sound sensitivity I would suggest bringing earplugs or your choice of aid to help damped that. Overall, a beautiful, must see area in my opinion, and has few inaccessible areas from my point of view in my visit.

If I was able to live in Savannah, i would! The people, the squares, the waterfront, the food, the history, and the creative spirit are encompassed within a few square miles. Absolutely worth a visit!

Sunday the parking at the visitor center was free. Loved walking around and exploring for a few hours. Could've spend days there checking out all the shops, restaurants and just exploring.

Walk the River than take the Old Town Trolly tour ride around once than hop off & on at any stop our tour guide Sam was great! We Ubered to waterfront cheaper than trying to park. If planning and you want to stay waterfront book in advance.

👍👍 This fountain in Forsyth Park is very picturesque. It is a spot for lots of photo opps and has a long pathway leading to the fountain that can also be grate for photos with the fountain in the background.
