If I could I would give this place 2 and a half stars. The location is absolutely great, metro and buses are close and there are tons of restaurants, bakeries, and shops. There is also a supermarket right next door which is great. The ambiance if the hostel is also great and you do meet lots of people which is awesome. The bad things are the bathrooms. There are only two toilets and they smell. The showers are also pretty gross. The rooms are small and they too were gross and they don't clean them, all they do is throw the trash out but the doors and sink in the rooms stay dirty if they're dirty. If you're not too picky this place is awesome. I stayed here for a week and for the most part it was fine.

Unfortunately we couldn't travel due to the pandemic, but this review is about the outstanding service we received from the staff! We paid upfront for our stay, and had a lot of issues ON OUR PART to receive the money back. The guys at Young & Travel were very helpful and patient, and tried over and over to transfer the money until we were able to find a way to do it. I'm very grateful for the help we received, and I'm sure the service at the actual location is absolutely the best! I will definitely be staying there once we are able to travel.

Not so "young & happy" hostel. Didn't bother taking a shower. The bathrooms were not very good and not clean at all. No plugins for each bed but instead just a power bar for multiple people to share. Petit dejeuner was placed in the open as if for free, and was offered for free in the afternoon at check in, but the next morning when we thought we could grab a croissant we were charged 4 euros. He almost wanted to charge twice for the 2 of us taking only one croissant.... Overall very unpleasant experience. Was glad to have only needed to stay there to sleep a few hours...most I've ever payed for almost nothing!

Their shower room is the worst I’ve ever seen. The shower head is fixed on the wall and you cannot adjust it. Nor can you adjust the water temperature. The ventilation is so bad that you’ll feel suffocated in the end of the shower. Also, they only have 3 toilettes, which is far from enough. The bedroom will be quite noisy until midnight because of the street outside. Apart from these drawbacks, the location is good, and you can find several nice restaurants nearby.

I felt welcomed and comfortable during my stay. The beds were fine and the noise wasn't bad once I had my ear plugs in. I felt extremely safe in the area traveling solo and the staff was always there to answer any questions I had about the metro system or different areas in Paris. I would definitely recommend staying in the Latin quarter as a young solo traveler. There is so much to do all around the hostel! Walking distance to Luxembourg gardens, notre dame, etc. The staff was nice although not very talkative, but I didn't mind that.

Clean rooms and common areas. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great area to stay in. Close to the Metro and lots of good shops nearby. However, there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and steep so if may be a little difficult if you have heavier luggage to tote around.

If you want items stolen from your suitcase while you are not in the room, this is the place for you! Coincidentally, no working cameras on premise…shocking. Young and happy aka young and naive to stay here

The staff is excellent, friendly, and protective of your belongings. They have a luggage room that can only be accessed with supervision by the staff. The rooms are small, the beds reasonable, the ceilings low. However, the neighborhood (historical district) is quite beautiful with many shops and cafes. Key point is the great staff.

The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The place is strategically located in the Latin quarter. The metro is easily accessible, and I could walk to most of the attractions(Notre dame, De pantheon. Saint-Michel). I easily made friends with other travelers.

Only good vibes here! The location is awesome, you can reach pretty much all the sightseeing 's walking. Beautiful place where to get to know people when traveling. A pity there's not enough sanitary to stand all the customers. Of course if you don't mind sharing, Young and Happy is very recommended!

Good thing I didn’t pay, they said they are “very closed” didn’t give a reason.

extremely friendly staff and a simple place to sleep. you’re in the greatest city on earth, who needs amenities? even air conditioning isn’t necessary. instead the open windows offer an intimate and fun perch to view the busy street below. the owner will learn your name and give you his blessing as you leave each morning. next time i’m in paris, i will be returning to my favorite bed

A small, cheap, pretty clean, decently located hostel with the minimum requirements. Only complaint would be lack of airflow in the rooms. No ac, air vents or ac. Rooms get stuffy and opening the windows doesn't really help. Not the worst I've stayed at but certainly not the best.

Place is really nice with a warm atmosphere that made me feel like home. Felt really welcomed during my stay due to the super friendly staff. Plus wifi worked great. The only downside is having to share bathrooms with the other rooms, but that was never a big deal. Highly recommended.

The location is great, rooms are decent(clean and well setup). Only complaints were there’s no AC unfortunately, as well as no elevator. Staff was absolutely extraordinary. The manager Joaquin was delightful and brokered our friends switch into our room of 8. The two young concierges, Simon and Charles are a lot of fun and also lovely. Would definitely recommend!
