I
spend
several
weeks
doing
research
on
guided
tours
from
Paris
before
I
selected
Best
of
France
Tours
to
arrange
3
different
tours
for
my
family
of
four
in
October
2017.
Oliver,
took
my
husband
and
I
on
a
day
trip
to
visit
WWI
historical
sites,
including
the
American
and
German
Cemeteries,
Belleau
Woods,
(including
the
fountain
in
the
village
where
American
Marines
drank
from
to
follow
the
folk
lore
to
add
a
year
to
their
life);
and
lunch
at
a
"local"
restaurant
where
we
were
the
only
tourist
and
had
a
delicious
meal.
My
daughter
and
her
husband
did
the
day
tour
to
the
Loire
Valley
with
Fredrick.
They
had
an
extremely
informational
person
tour
of
the
castles
of
Chenonceau
and
Chambord,
lunch
at
a
informal
cafe
in
Amboise
where
ny
son
in
law
had
3
desserts,
and
wine
tasteing
at
a
small
3
generational
winery
where
the
wine
maker
came
in
from
the
fields
to
tell
them
about
the
grapes
and
the
wine.
This
unique
experience
is
what
Best
of
France
Tours
offers
each
of
it's
clients.
Finally,
Philippe
took
all
four
of
us
for
the
2-day
Mt.
St.
Michel/D-Day
Tour
to
the
Normandy
coast.
As
with
the
other
two
tours,
our
guide
was
there
at
our
door
a
few
minutes
before
the
agreed
upon
time.
We
headed
for
the
Normandy
coast
for
a
local
cuisine
lunch
complete
with
local
apple
beer.
No
one
left
without
a
smile
on
their
face,
and
ready
to
tackle
the
350
steps
of
Mt.St.
Michael.
Philippe
turned
us
over
to
their
local
guide
in
the
region,
Jessica,
that
has
more
than
10
years
experience
climbing
the
windy
streets
and
steps
of
the
Abbey.
She
was
so
knowledgable
of
the
history
of
the
Abbey
but
also
up
to
date
on
the
current
residents
and
the
fact
that
they
were
having
a
special
dinner
that
night.
Anyone
visiting
the
Abbey
would
never
have
been
able
to
tell
what
was
going
on
behind
the
closed
doors,
but
Jessica
did
and
shared
the
stories
with
us.
This
made
the
visit
even
more
unique
and
added
to
the
reclusive,
cold,
gray
and
lonely
environment
of
the
Abbey.
Philippe
took
us
to
the
small
village
of
Bayeux
for
our
overnight.
We
stayed
at
Villa
Lara
(highly
recommended
by
Philippe)
and
were
treated
to
5
star
comfort
and
service.
The
next
day
we
were
up
and
totally
immerersed
in
the
history
of
the
D-Day
landing.
My
husband
is
an
academic
and
has
read
extensively
about
the
Landing.
He
was
totally
engaged
in
questions
all
day
with
Philippe
who
never
seemed
to
tire
of
the
Q&As.
He
had
answeres
and
perspective
that
made
this
trip
for
Richard
the
most
memorable
day
of
our
two
week
trip.
So,
if
you
are
searching
for
a
private
guided
experience
in
France,
STOP
your
research.
If
you
want
door
to
door
service,
but
also
to
be
able
to
have
any
of
the
guides
take
you
to
a
place
that
is
meaningful
to
you,
and
you
want
to
feel
that
you
are
geeting
excellant
value,
hire
Best
of
France
Tours.
Thank-you
Philippe,
Oliver
and
Fredrick
for
taking
such
good
care
of
us.
