We really wanted to like this hotel. The historic space was beautiful and unique. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The cleaning staff was attentive and helpful. However, there is a bar directly across the street that played the loudest music until 2:00 am on Friday night. The base was booming in our room for hours on end and we couldn’t sleep. When we checked out, the front desk staff was unsympathetic and barely apologetic. We loved the space but will never stay here again.

Everything about here is good until they decide that it's acceptable to have loud music, parties in the atrium lobby. Clearly the money they get for these far outweighs the comfort and peace of all the hotel guests. I will stay elsewhere in the future. If you want peaceful restful place to stay you should go elsewhere too.

The property is beautiful. The old train station feel is still there enough that I overheard people who didn’t know comment “this reminds me of a train station”. The hotel is in the middle of a city with original windows so you will hear city noises like traffic, sirens and nearby clubs. The staff goes out of their way to be rude. Several guests were booked into the wrong rooms and the front desk enjoyed telling them there was nothing available to make it right. Management begrudgingly fixed all the problems that the ladies at the desk couldn’t. Or wouldn’t. In the morning when we were looking for a place to get coffee we were rudely informed that the hotel cafe closed down months ago with a laugh. Overall the hotel is beautiful but the staff is not up to the task of hospitality. Incidentally, I booked directly through the hotel for our event and now realize I was overcharged by nearly half. With the price I paid I was expecting 5 star service, not one.

Pros -Friendly front desk staff -Beautiful lobby -Convenient location right off the highway -Large bedroom -Comfortable beds Cons -AC turned off and on all night, waking us up -There was a piece of broken glass on the floor of our bathroom when we arrived that we likely would have stepped on when standing at the sink if our dog hadn’t found it first -There was a long hair on top of one of the sheets -I went in search of water bottles and was told I could only get them from the vending machines on certain floors. That’s fine. I got change and went to the third floor. Out of water. When to the fourth floor. Out of water. Finally the fifth floor had water stocked. They need a little marketplace in the lobby for things like this. -Parking is paid and it was hard to find a spot because there was a wedding. -No AC in the outer hallways so very hot out there. -Loud street noise/music on the 2nd floor until 2am. I recommend staying up higher if you can. Unfortunately, despite the cool lobby and friendly front desk staff, we probably won’t stay here again.

Looks good in the photos but needs renovation. Our room smelled very bad, like chlorine, as well as the corridor and the elevator. The windows do not open in our room and it was difficult to get rid of the smell by using air ventilation, but in a few hours it got better. Also, they charged us +70 dollars for a dog for one night, but there was nothing for the dog in there, neither dog bed or bowls or at least treats, nothing. The place has parking and the room is large, the bed is large and comfortable. Apart from the chlorine smell, it was quite clean. It has amenities like a tea machine, towels and self hygiene amenities (shower gel, shampoo, ...), but they do not smell good. Overall it was OK for one night, I would come back again if not the chlorine smell.

Gorgeous hotel downtown! The staff was friendly especially Anthony at the front desk. Room was clean. bed was comfy. Shower had great water pressure! We had drinks at the hotel bar and they were wonderful! Would definitely stay here again.

My son and beautiful new daughter in law were married here on 11-12-22. The absolute best accommodations. Everyone is wonderful. The wedding coordinators are by far the best in the business. The hotel is gorgeous and all of our guests were amazed at this wonderful venue. The ballroom is spacious and elegant. The cuisine is excellent. The wedding room rates are affordable, a nice size, crisp and very clean! The beds are very comfortable. It was a sincere pleasure to share one of the most important days of our life here. A lovely memory to treasure always! Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Our room was quiet, comfortable, tastefully decorated and lighted, and spotlessly clean. Everyone was so helpful and kind. But this was no ordinary perfect hotel! The opulent beauty of the old train station was evident in every area of the hotel. The stained glass, the tile mosaics, the fountains and woodwork - all make this a fantastic experience that we would love to come back again to. And the food offered at Carmen's and Trax was also excellent! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

It is all about expectations. When I first got here I felt disappointed but when I looked back on the information about the hotel, I realize I was expecting the hotel to be something its not. There are not a lot of amenities but they embrace being a simple hotel done well. All the staff is friendly and helpful. I never tried Carmen's but it looks nice and the menu is easy to find. Trax was good and had convenient hours. The location is extremely convenient, walking distance to the mall and most of downtown. And it is right at the entrance to the highway. It is a beautiful and historic structure that is well cleaned.

We love you hotel. We have stayed here twice over the past year and it was pleasant each time. The hotel is historical which adds to the ambience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is tasty and fresh. Attached are some photos of the food.

This property is very unconventional, in a good way. It's an old train station (as the name suggests), so it looks really majestic and sophisticated, with marble walls and columns, huge domed ceilings, and a restaurant right in the courtyard. We didn't have a chance to look around town, so the location stars were just for being able to find it easily and get a room ad-hoc at midnight. Also, it was quiet outside at night and in the morning. Well, except the inside of the room wasn't. When the AC, which is literally 1.5ft from your body, turns on, it may wake you up. There's a video showing the difference between it being ON and OFF. Otherwise, my critical elements of a great hotel and room were all here: almost instant hot water (pull and turn left) and a very satisfying water pressure all around. This looked like a $300/night hotel, but it ended up being $150, which is in part because of Monday night rate. Food tends to be more expensive, but I can't speak to it's quality because we didn't eat here. Overall, we'd definitely come back.

This historic hotel is five star on its own. However Head of Security Dr. Anthony Benton is this hotel’s real star! I don’t know which of his attributes I enjoyed the most! From the top of his stylish bowl hat, his warm bright eyes, infectious smile under the most perfect handle bar mustache I’ve seen in a long time, keeps going to the tips of his well heeled shoes, or if it’s his engaging manner of conversation that draws one in. He made my stay!

My reply to the supervisor below: I do not "feel" like you were rude to me. You WERE rude. If those calls are recorded, I suggest you go back and listen to your tone, and your short responses. As a front desk supervisor I'd assume you'd understand my complaint about the $70 was obviously not blaming you.... it's the hotels absolutely ridiculous policy. How you delivered the "policy" is my issue. I'm actually shocked someone allowed you to reply to me saying "I'm sorry you felt I was rude"!! Hospitality is obviously not your strong suit. Original review: The front desk supervisor.... evette (or something similar to that name) was beyond rude. We were staying at the radisson for a wedding that started at 3:30... check in time is 3:00. I called and spoke with the supervisor who was nothing but rude the entire conversation when I inquired about checking in early. She replies with "yeah, for $70". No hotel I've ever stayed at had an issue or charged me for an earlier check in. Especially when I'm attending a wedding at their hotel!!! Needless to say, I canceled my room and booked with the Hilton across the street. Plus the Hilton has a pool and hot tub! This place doesn't deserve your money. Spend your money somewhere with better service. The Hilton was also significantly cheaper.

This place is a must see!!! Incredible energy here, from the minute you walk in the front door you can feel the history. Anthony the gentleman at the front desk has a magnetic personality you don’t want to leave. Do yourself a favour and stay here you won’t regret it.

Nice, historic hotel. Architecture is really interesting, feels like you've gone back to 1930. Amenities are nice, rooms clean and fairly up to date. Dining room is beautiful, no free breakfast, though. Room service is available with a nice selection. There's also a restaurant attached, venture past the elevators to enter. Our room was at the front side facing downtown and The Railyard Restaurant and Bar which was rolling late into the night, a little noisy but bearable. Parking is the real issue. The lot extends from the front and loops around the back. Wedding reception crowd took up many of the spaces along with illegal parkers at the bar above. Make sure you display the parking permit the hotel desk provides. All in all a great stay, would do it again.

We used this hotel for our wedding block. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location was great for a downtown after-party. We had no issues on the actual day. However, the service leading up to our wedding day was very bad. I and many of our guests had issues booking rooms including waiting on hold for 30+ minutes, being told the block was full when it wasn’t, or not receiving any confirmation information. Additionally, I was told that if the block was full I would definitely be notified and possibly be able to add more rooms if available. I was never contacted by the hotel about this even though the block was fully booked months before our wedding day. I also called a few weeks before the wedding day to let them know that we would be checking in late and to please make a note. They asked me to call back ON our wedding day to let them know what time we plan to arrive. Overall very disorganized and the most difficult vendor to work with. But, no issue during the day itself.

I just returned from a 2 night stay with family at this hotel and had an excellent experience. We had a spacious corner room that was nicely appointed though curtains that fully closed would have been nice. Staff was helpful and courteous and meals at Trax and Carmens were very good. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful building lovingly restored. We had a terrific person check us in who gave us a bit of the history of the building. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had a nice dinner at the Traxx Pub upon a late arrival and were grateful not to have to go back out in search of food. I am a vegetarian and could find a few things on the menu. We also had a lovely breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed our stay.

Parking costs $5/night. There seems to be ample parking in the on-site lot, it was really easy. My family and I got in kind of late after a very long day. Check-in was very easy and the front desk clerk was very helpful and pleasant. Check-out was also easy. We had adjoining rooms and I can't speak to theirs, but my room smelled odd, wasn't super clean and the main light was burnt out. For just a night it was comfortable and well-decorated, but had I felt better I might have made a couple of complaints about it (which I basically never do). The hotel itself is gorgeous! As a train enthusiast I had a great time wandering around a little! The exterior is really striking. Once inside I recommend getting a look at the murals and preserved ceiling. There's also a really neat vault door by a conference area. You can't miss the marble in the main entry, it's stunning! There's a cool viewing area on the second floor and I went up to the sixth floor to get a look at the ceiling. I would stay again if I were back in the area.

Not sure what kind of people they are giving rooms to! While I was eating dinner across the street there was a man Coming to the window and flashing it all! Completely naked! It wasn’t just once, he had a towel on and took it off then continued to come to the window completely naked!

This place is top in customer service We had unexpected vehicle issues that caused us to not be able to make it to the hotel for our stay. Anthony was so helpful and so caring for our situation. We couldn't thank him enough. The night we did stay there a little over a week ago was why we wanted to come back on our way back through. This place is gorgeous, clean, and the beds are comfy! We can't wait to go back.

Their housekeeping staff steals from your room. Do not stay here unless you’d like to have over $400 stolen from you and the management to do nothing about it. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Throughout my three night stay at the Radisson I encountered many issues. First, they messed up my reservation and made me check out of my room after one night and move to another room for the remaining two nights of my stay. I was given a suite which required me to pay an additional fee for an “upgraded” room that I never booked and wouldn’t have been in, but for their error. The suite had one king sized bed and a pull out couch with a card on it that advised you to call down if you’d like the bed made up. On my last day there I called SEVEN different times during the day asking for someone to come bring bedding for the pullout couch. No one ever came. I continued to call even when I was at a wedding, trying to ensure the bed would be made up when we returned so we’d be able to go to sleep. Nevertheless, when I arrived back to my room at 2 AM, the bed had not been made and there was no bedding around. I called again, was told “the person who does that has left for the night” and then was greeted by a security guard who handed me a pile of sheets. The next morning I discovered that two wedding cards with over $400 inside of them had been removed from my room. I immediately brought it to management’s attention. I was told by general manager, Anastasia Mickavicz, that it would be promptly looked into, and I would receive a call from the housekeeping manager later that day. Days passed; no one called me. After several days, I decided to reach out to them. When I spoke with the housekeeping manager she acknowledged that she was supposed to call me, yet failed to do so. She further advised me that her “investigation” comprised of her simply asking her staff if they took the cards and they had denied it. She casually stated “what else do you expect me to do?” After expressing my frustration with how the situation had been handled, she promised to speak further to Anastasia and be back in touch with me. Days passed. Weeks passed. No one reached out. It’s not been nearly a month and I have yet to receive ONE phone call from the Radisson team despite calling them upwards of ten times. I’ve called repeatedly and though it’s clear the entire staff is aware of what transpired, no one will communicate a resolution. I’ve left the manager countless messages to no avail. This hotel is the opposite of hospitable. Yes, the rooms are outdated and over priced, but that could all be overlooked if there was even one competent person who cared enough to return a jilted guest’s phone call. Do not stay here.

Smelled like urine, and the walls are super thin. There’s a bar across the street, so college kids were smoking weed in the parking lot as we were trying to unload. A car nearly hit our son in the cramped parking lot. Beautiful historic place, but just not good for families.

Not in the best location but very impressed with the upkeep of this hotel. It was spotless and the rooms were beautiful. Parking lot definitely needs to be fixed soon due to the amount of potholes. Hopefully the surrounding buildings don't stay abandoned.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The history of this site is incredible. They did a great job restoring this train station. My dad worked here in the 1970s, when it was used for offices and storage. The employees are all well-versed in the building's history and welcome visitors to just walk around and enjoy the beauty of this building.

We stayed two nights. Very comfortable king bed. Good sized room with high ceiling. Very quiet. Clean room. loose cold water handle in sink. As others have said the lobby is stunning. The staff is all excellent. I highly recommend this Hotel. We ate one evening in the restaurant it was very good period. Carmens 2.0 pricey but not so much for a hotel restaurant. The quality quantity was good.

I picked this hotel and it did not disappoint. It is in walking distance to everything downtown Scranton and close to other attractions surrounding the city. The service was great all around. We stayed 5 nights and the room was clean and we had a delicious meal one night in the hotel restaurant. There was a jazz event downtown and the hotel hosted one of the bands. It was wonderful to sit outside and hear the music. There were two events in the main lobby, but they were over by at least 10pm. This is a beautiful hotel, with so much architecture detail and interesting pictures and lots of history to explore. One thing, the parking lot needs to be paved. There is a large lot to the side of the hotel that is paved well. We didn’t find it till the last night when the hotel was full. Oh well. I recommend staying here when you are in town.

The architecture is beautiful but wallpaper and carpets are just worn down. Staff is rude. We asked if there was a corkscrew we could use and the young woman at the front desk replied “do I look like a bartender to you?”. And if you’re wondering about the quality of the wine in the hotel bar, they didn’t have a corkscrew either. The televisions are tiny and outdated and only have basic cable with no streaming or on demand. There is no coffee available in the hotel and the toilet paper is the cheapest one ply stuff that would make John Wayne cry. It all gives the impression of a once nice place that has scrimped on every amenity and not been updated in far too long.

I attended a conference recently at this hotel. From my first moment, I was utterly impressed by the staff - they are all about making you feel comfortable and welcome. The architecture is very impressive. If you are looking for a great change of pace, this is worth your stay. The food and drinks are great. I recommend asking the staff for their recommendations - trust me, they will not let you down. This hotel is also with walking distance of great restaurants, shops, and locations. Treat yourself - it's a great place to rest, relax, and enjoy your time in Scranton!

We've stayed her twice and will definitely be back. It's our favorite place to stop when we drive from SW Florida to Maine. You feel like you're stepping back in time. The staff is amazing.

Everything about this place is great. Landmark hotel and a huge piece of history in Scranton. Brunch is good in a nice setting at the lobby. Courteous staff and service is great. Well done

Mostly a positive stay. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Vicky was great in getting me set up and adding additional nights for my stay. Anthony was very positive. The rooms are quiet and have a good view. There were a few things that made my stay not as enjoyable, however. A few towels and pillows smelled stale or used. There were plenty of spares, so I used those instead. But it is still odd that the towels and pillows did not feel or smell fresh. The WiFi was very temperamental and often slow. Lastly, the person I spoke to on the phone before making my reservation said that breakfast was included in my stay, but I discovered it was not included when I arrived at the hotel.

The beds are fairly decent however although they redid the rooms the hallways and the whole situation feels very old. If you like history it is a piece of history. There's a couple of bars near there. The mall is pretty empty. There's an aquarium in the mall that was slightly underwhelming for me being that there was not so many fish. The overall cleanliness of the hotels fairly decent. And the staff is pretty accommodating. Most of the people are super friendly and really helpful. I would say if you're looking for luxury it is a no. If you're just looking to stay in a decent place and the pricing that night is fair then this is definitely somewhere that you will enjoy. There is a bar on on site with food that you can order. I was there with my wife and my I have to have got the only true sweet that's there. when they write sweet it's not an actual sweet keep in mind while booking a room. Ihad a fairly decent time but I don't think I would go there again.

A wonderful unique hotel. Both in house restaurants and room service were perfect. Housekeeping went above and beyond. The hotel was beautiful, unique, and charming with glorious railroad touches throughout. My only comment was one of the managers, Anastasia was NOT customer service oriented or aware of her surroundings when talking to an upset guest on the phone but it was made up for by the entire rest of the staff. Kudos and hope to return soon!

This is a fantastic hotel to book, amazing service with full service dining. I believe they need to advertise this gem of a spot. Any of my business colleagues who are looking for great work space and amazing rooms. This hotel checks all the boxes with a 10 ! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Food and drinks great quality. Rooms are beautiful!

The architecture is amazing. It’s right next to live train tracks too. The room was updated but also still dated. It was very clean, but the tv was tiny and very old. Low quality. Bed wasn’t super comfy. The restaurant made me and my boyfriend very sick our last night there. And I wasn’t told before hand that my card would be on hold for the duration of the stay… which limited our budget significantly. The tub was huge big enough for four people! But the water was kind dingy. Loved the pet policy. So I guess what I’m saying is, I wouldn’t spend 300$ a night there again, but I also didn’t completely hate it. It was fine.
