We ate the Meditation Chicken meal, mine was over the Jazmine rice, and it was super delicious. The wait staff was quick and very polite. The venue is small and needs reservations, great place for a chill wonderful date night with good music. Only complaint I heard was that the gumbo has too much rice and not enough broth, I didn't eat it but that's what I heard. Also, if you have a flatter butt, bring a seat cushion because the chairs aren't well cushioned.

Egan's is my favorite jazz club in Seattle. It's a small, family-run business that was started so that the owners' son could have a place to perform and it has since grown into a club that features everything from high school jazz combos to national touring acts. The sound in the room is excellent and so are the food and drinks.

Kai's is great and has the lowest key atmosphere on the Ave! Very friendly people and excellent service!

Great experience at Eggans - we rate the Jazz very high! And we’re from Motown!

Went there last night the gentleman accommodated us for seating on short notice guess reservations are preferred. Cups were never empty and meldavia piano music was wonderful. Prompt and unobtrusive service. Seating is very tight and very uncomfortable for long shoe. Would advise to upgrade to more comfy tiered seating since there is a stage. Food was delicious.

I've performed here and been a customer for several years now. I like the fact that the focus is on the music. The acoustics are fantastic. The menu has gone through many changes and it's probably at its best right now. The owners (Ted and Suzanne) have put their whole lives into the place and it's turned into my favorite place. Although they sometimes have two servers for the evening, Heather handles a lot of full houses on her own and does a great job. Fully recommend this place.

An iconic venue in the Seattle Jazz music scene. Intimate stage area and great menu. Definitely a location to visit in town. They treat their musicians well, too!

Stopped by for jazz open mic night on Thursday and had an absolute blast. The hosts (Pat and Arlene) were such a joy, and the band + vocalists put on phenomenal performances. Enjoyed the cabernet and cheesecake with blueberry compote. Will be back!

I've been to a lot of venues for live shows. This one is the worst I've ever been to. We sat down at 8:50p. There was one waitress to serve 45 people. The waitress was literally running back and forth in between us and the stage, constant distraction. She looked stress out, annoyed and was rolling her eyes on occasion. On top of that, she served tables in front of us, behind us, to left, to the right, just kept working around us, made no sense how she chose to serve tables. And she could only take one table's order at a time, rather than taking a few table's orders. We finally got a drink at 10pm, an hour and 10 minutes after we sat down. A few minutes later, the performers announced last song...seriously...I have half a drink left, and had to drive shortly. I asked the waitress, "Do you always have only one waitness?" Answer, " Yes." Never, never, never going the again.

Kai's is an undiscovered gem just waiting for the Link to open next door. Visit before it is inundated with the ordinary. It is the very coolest place. Mellow vibe, great drinks, strangely satisfying food, and the bartender (7-ish most days) has the best playlist, unconventional disco, Motown, funk. I was dancing solo. (Attached image © 2019 A. We had a great time at Eagan's. The music was wonderful. Really was wondering why there wasn't a real bar with signature cocktails, seems like a missed opportunity to me

  • 3/5 Jessi L. 8 years ago on Google
Everything here was just okay. If you play or sing jazz, you may love it. They have an open mic on Wednesdays and a good house band. Only one person waiting tables and she seemed really overwhelmed. The food was luke warm, the drink selection was blah.

Everything was great and tasty and the drinks were good but this dudes service absolutely blew. We were the only group in there and he was doing fine at first but towards the end he just refused to do anything we asked, opting to watch the olympics instead. We had to ask him twice for drinks and for the check, he says okay then sits down and watched more tv in front of us! He probably didn't care because we had a group of 8 and the tip was automatically charged. Not coming back.

Nice little bar, tucked away in the corner of the U-District. Friendly staff. Has an older feel. Menu is slightly overpriced but they do have a decent happy hour with Mac and Jacks. Fries are pretty good.

This place is a lot of fun! The pianists are extremely talented! If you like people watching this is a good place. The mixture of alcohol, music, and the musicians egging it on makes people do outrageously dumb and funny things. The line to get in on the weekends can get very long...come early!

  • 5/5 Robin C. 4 years ago on Google
An absolute top notch live music establishment - only gripe is that I didn't discover this place sooner! They hosted the amazing Miriam Maraavi when I visited, and the music jam is a great event where talented local artists show up and perform jazz numbers. Looking forward to my next visit already!
