The Staff family lunch buffet was food cold and tasteless. (20th November 2022)But the manager seemed ignorant about the whole episode, and I felt annoyed by this kind of negligence. Even All friends and family members were really unhappy about the entire episode. I am very disappointed with the service provided and hope that in future you will improve your standards.....😡😡😡😡

Visited last week. The room and the hotel are beautiful. Location is great. Food is also good But their sewerage system stinks. Bathroom overflowed with foul water after a bath.

Nice place, the staff was warm n helpful. Food was good especially dinner n we were there for Valentine’s Day. Maybe can upgrade d rooms plus as we enter d room it had stinking smell.

We had quite a pleasant stay at Ashford. Kudos to the housekeeping team for the exceptional and timely service. The food was decent during dinner and quite good during breakfast. The only negative was that one of the bathrooms among our 3 rooms was quite smelly.

Had booked a deluxe room. The room allotted apparently was not a deluxe room. The room had no space to keep two suitcase. The place earmarked for keeping one suitcase was at such a location, which did not permit the operation of the wardrobe. I reckon the double room size must be in the range of 120 sq ft excluding the wash room. This room is situated in the Fourth floor near the lift. However, when the Reception was confronted, the room was changed subsequently. Very poor response of the Housekeeping staff.

Very very bad experience at the hotel. The bathrooms were stinking,the food got over though we had booked in advance for a big group of 26 people. The Wi-Fi was not working,and worst the staff at the reception were very impolite and non cooperative,one Mr. Dinesh and CGE,both were very very inhospitable. In all had a very bad experience. The carpets were also stinking. From the outside,looks like a big hotel,but the staff and service are very very poor.

A very pleasant experience staying at Hotel Ashford! The staff were super accommodating and went out of their way to make me comfortable! They specially made me western food on request :) Room was clean and cosy, views were lovely!

The first hotel I stayed at in Sri Lanka is Hotel Ashford and it was a great stay. The hotel staff are really nice. They took us around their farm. Got a chance to reap carrots and beetroot. The chef Vamadevan was so nice and made delicious food for us.

We stayed for a night. The staff were very friendly. The place was nice and clean. The most wonderful thing about the place was the view. We asked for a room with a good view, and the room provided had an exceptional view of breathtaking mountains. It was so beautiful. The welcome drink was cinnamon tea, and we loved it. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location. Easily accessible. On the main road itself. Everything was fine except for the food. Bulk bookings are taken ,so when one batch finishes by the time the next group comes replenishment of dishes not adequate since it is buffet. Food taste is also so so only.

Our group from Malaysia and stayed one night in this Ashford Hotel. The staffs are very friendly. We had dinner and breakfast in this hotel. Both foods are good and meet our expectation. The restaurant staffs are very good and always ready to serve us. Reception and housekeeping staffs also equally good and they immediately assist if need anything. Overall very good hotel for stay in Nuwara Eliya..Keep it up guys .

The lobby area looks great. But rooms are compact and they have just basic things. No chairs even. Luckily we checked the room before paying.

Not at all my first option for when you’re in the area. Only stayed here as part of a 10 day holiday across Sri Lanka. Staff is very welcoming and caring and definitely want to make each guest comfortable and please them. However, when it comes to facilities, cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the hotel, things can definitely be improved. Big thumbs up for the restaurant - food was great, even though it wasn’t either a buffet or a la carte, but rather the manager going from door to door presenting the available options for each course.

Environment - Great view where you can see a mountain view in front of hotel and a vegetable farm behind the hotel. It looks great when the sunrise. Room - Room is tidy and clean just the old furniture makes the room a bit old. The mix use of cool white and warm white light bulbs also make the room ambiance feel uncomfortable. Food - Personally I like their veggie so much because the manager told me that all their vegies are freshly get from their own farm. It really make me taste the difference. More sweet and more tasty. Service - Quick response service when I told them the corridor light does not function and I need the hair dryer. Location - 5km away from Gregory Lake. If you are an affordable tourists, choose the one near the lake. The sunrise view will be great. Facility - WiFi is slow.

We stayed there for 2 nights and we had a very bad experience.. service is very poor and no response from receptionist.. unable to use internet due to low coverage and poor speed. Quality of food is very poor. Better go for 4 or 5star hotel.

Unfortunately, the stay at hotel Ashford was quite dissapointing, the lack of variety in food options was quite noticeable. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, if you're seeking for a satisfying dining experience. The limited selection may not meet expectations for those looking for a quality meal.

An elegant structure which reminds you of its historical significance, being one of the oldest hotels in nuwara ella. The staff was courteous and always smiling, helpful whenever needed. The room was good enough with the amenities. Keeping in mind the cool weather. The entire hotel was carpeted and warm. The buffet had a lot of variety with good taste. The restaurant staff had given us remarkable service.

Nice place just beside Seetha Amman temple. Love the room!! One disadvantage is that there's no hot water around 6am, need to wait until 7am most days.

This hotel is in awesome location. When we reached the hotel they asked to lighten the lamp which is Sri Lankan custom it seems. We are flatten on that. They room refresh we is natural cinnamon perfume so it’s gives very nice smell. Even their reception wall is layered with cinnamon sticks. Dinner and breakfast were good and their service is exceptional. Must to stay again.

Stayed one night in ashford.good hotel and friendly service provide.but however bed sheeta are not clean (fungus- attached photoes) floor carpets are full of dusty.insects are inside room.broken showers are in bathroom. Foods are really good and resturant guys are very good and friendly. This is my third visit to hotel ashfor this time had bad experience.but previous one is very good.

impressive place way to ella. nice atmosphere sorounded by Hakgala and Seetha temple. small cafe serving ceylon tea and butter cake. you would loved to enjoy that too as a ceylon fine.

Had a bad experience with the buffet. The service was poor. No food in the buffet even at 8:00 PM. All the dishes were empty and the staff did not even bother to refill.

Was one of the best hotels i have visited in Nuwaraeliya... The staff was very hospitable and helpful. A very quiet and a calm place to relax and enjoy the cozyness of the city..We enjoyed and loved our stay at Hotel Ashford. Will visit again for sure next time..

Me and my wife had the greatest long weekend vacation at this beautiful place. The room was super comfortable when compared to the other places in the town. The staff is so humble and polite. Very helpful. The buffet was top notch with live singing. Most importantly this hotel had the largest car park in the town 😃. (It also had a very large gym with many instruments). Not only that, this hotel had a superb hand made bathik clothing store called ‘AKIRA’. The place is so charming and has its own farm which added a totally different experience for us. Definitely this will be our home for every next visits to Nuwara Eliya.

The place and it's location were pretty cool. We have a nice view from the hotel. Apparently the weather in Nuwara-Eliya is cold so, it's recommended to wear sweaters during the early morning and evening hours during the visit. The service is not bad at all. But, I will not recommend the taste of the food cooked here as I had a bad experience here in Ashford. My mates too wasted a lot of food during an event. Other than that, the facilities and the rest are quite pleasing.

Nice Indian food culture and reliable service

I recently held my wedding here, and I must say, it was an absolute nightmare. The entire experience was riddled with disappointments, starting from the moment we arrived. First and foremost, the hotel failed to provide the package we had agreed upon. Despite our clear discussions and specific requirements, they did not deliver as promised. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for our agreement left us incredibly frustrated and stressed on our special day. The food served at the wedding was nothing short of a disaster. It was tasteless, poorly presented, and overall of extremely poor quality. The culinary experience was such a letdown, and it certainly didn't meet our expectations for such a significant event. It's disheartening to think that the food served on our wedding day was the worst we have ever tasted. Furthermore, the floral arrangements and decorations were nothing short of a disaster. The hotel completely missed the mark on what we had envisioned. Instead of creating an elegant and beautiful atmosphere, they provided us with filthy and dirty decorations. It was clear that no effort or care had been put into making our venue look special for our big day. It was an utter disappointment. Overall, I strongly advise against choosing this hotel for your wedding or any other special occasion. They failed to deliver on their promises, the food was the worst we have ever had, and the floral arrangements and decorations were a disgrace. Trust me, you don't want them to ruin your beautiful day like they did ours. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration by looking elsewhere for a venue that will truly make your wedding day memorable for all the right reasons.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort. They seem to have a passion for service. Keep it that way. Rooms are spacious and amenities were all in good condition. Recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've arranged my sisters wedding in this hotel and Can't recommend this place for a wedding coz they not delivered what they committed in the package. It's not worth for the price that we pay. Food is not much tasty and the given changing rooms are really dirty. The arrangements are not good at all. I don't know how it's gonna be for a vacation but for any functions this is not a good place for sure. Im giving 2 stars only because of the location

The reception area looked very modern and clean. However, the service was rather slow and the dining room and rooms required a good clean. I dare say this hotel may be a victim of the pandemic and then more recent events in Sri Lanka.

Not the best hotel, bit shabby, felt dirty. Rooms need a good clean. I'd rate it ** In the foyer and dining room they had the same song "Blue Bayou" on repeat. When I pointed it out to the Dining room manager, he said "yes, I know". You couldn't make it up. Change the record Ashford!!!!!
