Local organic farm produce gathered in one place. Interesting variety and reasonable price. They also have souvenir shops and handmade stalls selling unique crafts. Great place to stop by for a break!

It is worth to stop by. There are variety of local and organic goods. You can even see the info of the farmers next to each item. Fruits, vegetables, flowers, sweets, fresh made japanese cookies and sweets are available. There are restaurants and even foot bath (ashinoyu). There is a also a small playground for young kids. Cheap and organic groceries. You can also try lots of samples! There's a spacious parking lot and a park for children nearby.

Akiu village was a super cute variety goods shop, similar to Uwajimaya. Loved the ice cream we had from the deli!

This has to be the best village stop I've been to in Japan. The amount of produce you can find here is unbelievable. There is a great section for meats, a department for sweets and baked goods, the cafeteria has a good selection of foods for almost anyone, and there are craft markets outside on occasion. Parking is plentiful. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of seating for rest and food.
