One of the great things about Sendai is the regular downtown festivals held in Kotodai Park.

特に紅葉の季節の特に素敵な公園! Smallish but beautiful park especially popular in Autumn when the leaves change colors! A great place to rest on your own or meet friends! Great place to enjoy your packed lunch! Popular site with photography buffs!

It is a small Park, littered with bronze statues. Not somewhere you would specially go for, unless there's a town fair or something. You can pop by though, if you happen to pass by for shopping or eating. the other reason would be for Wake Up Girls anime pilgrimage. Note that there are no Sakura trees here, so try the other parks like nishi Park or tsutsujigaoka. Oh, it is too dark to visit at night, unless you want to spend your night with the homeless asleep on the theatre stage. You might also see the odd chinaman here just for pokemon.

During summer there is something happening every weekend. It's also close to downtown shopping and a great place to drink canned beer with friends instead of going to an expensive shop.

It was a nice experience. Kotodai Park is a well-known public park located in Sendai, Japan. It is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a peaceful and green retreat in the heart of the city. The park is named after the historic Kotodai Gate, which once stood nearby. Kotodai Park is characterized by its beautiful landscaping, open spaces, and a variety of recreational facilities. It features lush lawns, vibrant flower gardens, and tall trees that provide shade and serenity. The park is an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely walks, and outdoor activities. Within the park, visitors can find several attractions and amenities. One notable feature is a large fountain that serves as a central focal point. The fountain adds a touch of elegance to the park and creates a pleasant atmosphere. There are also paved pathways for strolling and cycling, allowing visitors to explore the park at their leisure. For families with children, Kotodai Park offers a playground area equipped with swings, slides, and other fun structures. Children can enjoy playing and running around in a safe and enjoyable environment. Throughout the year, Kotodai Park hosts various events and festivals, attracting a diverse range of visitors. These events may include concerts, cultural performances, art exhibitions, and seasonal celebrations. It's worth checking the park's schedule to see if any special events are happening during your visit.

beautiful park to break a little bit from routine activities. Located at the heart of the city, the leaves color change are varied, from green, yellow gingko, orange to red maple. There are several statues available including life size Sumo one. However a little bit dissapointing since the sumo statue is used as smoking area.
