This was the family’s first time trying the APA brand of hotels in Japan. I guess it’s more suitable for business Travellers than families. The rooms didn’t have air conditioning and only heater. Told the front desk that we couldn’t stay in a hot room but was told that there was no way to switch it into air conditioning as it’s centralized controlled. But they did their best and gave us portable air conditioning machine. There was an onsen within the premises but was relatively crowded. Room was small but their draw was their television set which was extremely big. We tried opening the window to let the cold air in but our room was just above the railway and Shinkansen track which was really annoying when they passed.

Horrible experience with the staff and accommodation at APA Sendaieki. Decided to give the APA chain a chance for our trip to Sendai and could not regret it more. The rooms do not have adjustable temperature control and recently, Japan has seen an unprecedented heat wave that has continued on into the Winter months. It was nearly 30 degrees Celcius (86°F) in early November. Upon initially entering the room, it was sweltering hot and we could barely breathe. The HVAC was blowing out hot air in 30°C heat! The wall panel which seemed like controls for the temperature were inoperable and there was no way to turn on cold AC despite the heat. Barely being able to breathe, I called the front desk to tell them that the AC was broken. To our surprise, we were told that the temperature was centrally controlled and that the heating was out of our control. What in God’s name were they thinking, turning on the heat during a heat wave? The staff were inflexible and could not use common sense to turn on the AC to accommodate the insanely hot weather. We were told by the front desk that there was no way the AC would be turned on despite our difficulty breathing in the hot room. It was too late to refund as we had already checked in. Our only choices, per the front desk, were to “leave our room door open” or to “open the window”. I don’t even need to say how ridiculous it is to tell hotel guests to leave their doors open for any and all to come in and steal their valuables such as cash / passports / business documents. Completely unacceptable in terms of guest safety. It’s laughable that they would even suggest this instead of doing the smart thing and switching off the heat in 30°C weather… The other option was to “open the window”. Now first of all, the window barely cracked open, which was not enough ventilation to offset the central heating. Secondly, due to this hotel’s proximity to the train tracks of Sendai Station, there were constant trains every 5 minutes from 6am in the morning to 12am at night. Thus, we were forced to listen to trains coming in all night to the point where conversations were inaudible unless we yelled. The train noises plus the unbearable heat kept us up and prevented any good sleep we could’ve had in Sendai. Please take a listen and see what we had to endure for 4 days and nights, due to the hotel’s unwillingness to turn off central heating in 30°C temperature. Check the temperature data for Japan in October/November 2023 if you don’t believe me about the heatwave. The city of Sendai itself was beyond beautiful, but the trip was spoiled by our stay at APA hotels. Save yourself the stress and don’t waste your hard earned money with APA.

The front staff give very snobby vibes, and the view out the window is terrible (I specifically booked this hotel so we could watch the trains from the window but we can’t see anything just a wall). The ice machine isn’t working. The family mart in the building is super convenient though.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. First in October and in August. The room is very small and there is no way it can fit more than one person. You can’t control the AC, so the room is always hot. You will be sweating bullets all night. So not stay here.

great hotel and good price, good staff everything about the hotel was good and everything went smoothly, the rooms are what you expect of a business hotel but they are clean and the beds are good. if you don’t want room service then just place out the sign and they give you more then you need outside the door in a bag the hotel is very close to Sendai station and has a store connected directly to the hotel that’s open 24/7. breakfast I never tested but it seemed good from what I saw I would recommend this hotel to people wanting to travel to Sendai and i will most definitely be using this hotel again for travel to Sendai

Customer service was great, but room was a bit small and when we are in the room, we can see that the walls are a bit dirty and unkempt.

Got sweltering hot at night despite outside temperature being less than 10c. No way to lower temperature of the room. Think it is in the high 20C. Terrible sleep Pee smell in the toilet no matter how many times I flush Great service and location though

It takes about 10 mins walk from JR Sendai Station and you have to use the cross bridge to get in the hotel. And there is a noise from the train that can make you feel noisy.

The staff are not particularly professional and the room was very small (in line with expectations). The highlight for this hotel is the semi-natural onsen available free-of-charge, which impressed me for its quality and size.

Convenient location and all the equipment is there. Some equipment needs update, especially hair dryers were very weak. Compared to the hotel rooms, elevators’s number and size are not sufficient. Wish there was staircases for someone in hurry. I also found a hair in the fridge. Like the service of leaving a bag with towels.

I loved this hotel. It's walking distance from the station (about 750m). Professional reception staff helped me check in easily even though I have little Japanese ability. The room was pristine and had everything I needed. The best was having my own shower. The bed was very comfortable and I had enough pillows with adequate support. They have a beautiful public bath too, (if you are into public nudity 😂 ) You can also select a breakfast option that provides Western Continental options and Japanese cuisine. They have a restaurant and a convenience store too. Checkout was at 10:00 and was simple and instant. I recommend this place for sure.

The bath is great and room is a little small. But the location is great near Sendai station

The room was snug and although small, comfy enough for two. The bed was softer compared to some firmer hotel beds which we greatly appreciate. The parking was 1260¥ a night and first come first serve. A bit more expensive than some of the street parking. The hotel was a 35 minute walk from Sendai Castle and an 8 minute walk from the central bus terminal where you could catch the Sendai loop tour bus. We didn't have a chance to use the spa :(

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The hotel is not near Sendai JR station and we had to walk about 10 minute. The room was quite small but the bed was comfy and had all anemities. The best part of this hotel is onsen although not large but very good as there were both indoor and outdoor onsen. The staff was friendly and helpful.

While the bed is quite comfortable, the room is very small and not very clean. The room is so small that the only place I could open my full-sized suitcase blocks both the room and bathroom doors at the same time. There is a large mess of spider webs in the corner and a lot of dust around the TV. The desk is very small, and covered I things like glasses etc, so there is little usable space. The provide air purifier can only be plugged in at the desk or bed, either blocking the way to the bathroom or the desk/fridge area. If you have little with you and saying a short time, this place is ok but I wouldn't in general recommend it.

This is a hotel for people who just need a bed, it falls well short of three stars rating it is supposed to have. The rooms are tiny, I had to finish some work and I barely could sit at the table, the bed was in the way. Breakfast menu is poor, low variety. You get coupons (coupons!), one for each day. How about just linking it to the room key card, guys? There is no lobby (three armchairs, really?) and the automated check-in is ridiculous - what's the staff for? You will have to wait until 15:00 to check in. Any respectable hotel would accommodate travellers arriving early, I saw several exhausted guests sleeping in those armchairs. Myself, I arrived after travelling for some 20 hours, guess how happy I was to wait another 4h for check in. Simply unacceptable. Last time I was in Sendai (2013), I stayed at the other APA, which was much better on all accounts.

Room was clean and tidy but very small particularly for 2 people. Even in subzero temperatures in the middle of winter the room was too hot even with the AC at its lowest setting (16 degrees Celsius). Bathroom was standard. Reception was very nice and staff were helpful.

Had to change rooms because the air-conditioning was broken in my first one. The pillows were those incredibly uncomfortable bead-type ones which made sleeping difficult. You can hear the trains from the nearby station late at night/early morning, so not good for light sleepers. Overall not too bad though. I paid 4000yen (40 dollars?) which seems about right, I wouldn't want to pay more for this standard of lodging.

Good thing: Check-in was easy. They let us keep our luggages before we check-in so we can look around the city. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from Sendai station. Bad thing: we booked 6 individuals room but we didn’t know that they booked all the smoking rooms. Those rooms are super smelly for non smokers .. So i would request you all to confirm about this smoking room while you booked your one.

Relatively close to the station, not too far from the main shopping district (Cris Road, Parco, etc). The indoor onsen was great but can get crowded so it's best to go during off peak hours. The hotel room was also very comfy especially the bed.

Standard APA experience! Comfortable beds and good bath products. The women public bath was crowded at all times!
