My
father
was
admitted
twice
in
less
than
two
weeks
to
this
hospital.
First
admission
on
the
5th
Sept
2020
due
to
a
choking
incident.
The
nurse
acted
unprofessionally
during
taking
blood
pressure
and
he
was
admitted
on
the
same
day
due
to
aspiration
pneumonia
for
4
days/3
nights.
We
were
asked
not
to
visit
him
him
and
was
told
that
there's
no
exact
date
when
he
can
be
discharged.
When
I
finally
received
a
call
that
he
can
be
discharged
on
the
9th
Sept
2020,
I
applied
emergency
leave
at
work
and
rushed
to
the
hospital.
To
my
dismay,
my
father
was
weaker
than
he
was
before
he
got
admitted
and
he
got
skinnier.
It
was
obvious
that
he
was
so
tired
from
the
procedures
that
they
ran
on
him
that
he
couldn't
open
his
eyes
to
see
me.
I
waited
the
doctor
to
ask
for
my
father's
status
but
the
doctor
was
busy
having
corridor
meeting
and
chit
chatting
and
laughing.
My
heart
breaks
at
that
moment.
My
father
used
two
days
to
recover
but
he
was
obviously
weaker
than
before
pre-admission.
On
the
15th
Sept,
he
urinated
blood
and
we
rushed
him
to
hospital
again.
On
the
16th
Sept,
I
called
the
hospital
to
ask
which
ward
was
he
admitted
into
and
if
I
can
visit
him.
On
my
arrival
around
4:30
PM,
his
Ryle's
tube
(Feeding
Tube)
was
absent
since
morning.
I
asked
the
doctor
to
reinsert
the
tube
and
they
said
that
they
tried
it
before
but
they
faced
difficulty
but
they
will
try
later.
I
was
dismayed
because
my
father
hasn't
been
feeding
since
morning
and
must
be
starving.
I
pushed
again
and
again
until
finally
the
MO
engaged
her
superior
and
they
reinsert
the
feeding
tube
around
7PM.
I
asked
if
they
can
start
feeding
him
with
milk
and
the
doctor
said
Yes.
However,
nobody
came
until
8PM
when
I
finally
approached
the
nurse
to
ask
for
milk
powder.
Finally
when
the
milk
powder
came,
I
quickly
fed
him.
He
gained
a
bit
of
strength
afterwards.
Around
10
PM,
he
was
distressed
and
to
my
dismay,
I
found
that
his
diaper
is
wet
and
the
whole
pad
and
bed
were
wet
too
due
to
the
urinary
catheter
was
too
small
causing
his
groin
area
itchy
and
with
reddish
rash
around
his
buttock
area.
Also,
there
are
signs
of
blood.
it
was
obvious
that
it
was
infected.
He
was
struggling
to
tell
me
with
his
body
language
due
to
him
not
able
to
speak
because
of
his
brain
PSP.
I
asked
the
nurse
again
if
I
can
change
the
diaper
and
the
nurse
stalled
me
cos
they
needed
to
distribute
medicines.
I
said
if
they
can
just
give
me
diaper
I
can
change
it
myself.
The
nurse
retorted
back
saying
if
I
have
my
own
diaper.
I
was
at
lost
because
this
is
my
first
time
at
the
hospital
facing
such
a
distress
situation
especially
with
my
father
and
I
actually
hope
that
the
nurse
can
be
more
compassionate
and
understanding.
I
would
have
brought
my
own
diaper
should
I
know
this
is
how
they
ran
the
hospital
and
that
diaper
stock
is
not
in
their
inventory,
but
how
am
I
supposed
to
know
that?
The
next
day
on
the
17th
cross
18th
Sept
midnight,
my
father
developed
fever
and
his
whole
body
is
heated.
I
kept
using
towels
to
cool
down
the
heat
and
stayed
over
the
entire
night.
The
next
afternoon
on
the
18th
September,
he
was
gasping
for
air
and
started
wheezing
and
at
night,
they
put
him
on
with
oxygen
mask.
My
father
passed
away
on
the
19th
Sept
2020
afternoon
due
to
hospital
acquired
infection.
I
was
sad
because
I
wish
that
the
nurses
could
take
better
care
of
my
father
before
his
passing
away.
For
example,
changing
his
diaper
regularly
and
try
to
feed
him
with
nutrients
when
his
feeding
tube
is
pulled
out,
not
when
I
asked
for
solution
only
they
started
gave
him
drips.
I
wish
the
staffs
at
the
hospital
can
be
more
attentive
and
proactive
when
it
comes
to
taking
care
of
people
instead
of
needing
us
to
keep
asking
for
solution.
I
know
that
they
are
accustomed
to
seeing
people
sick
and
maybe
death,
but
to
me,
he's
my
father,
a
husband
and
a
beloved
person
who
has
done
nothing
but
kindness
and
shelter
his
children
with
love
and
care,
especially
when
we
were
poor
back
then.
This
is
indeed
a
traumatic
experience
for
me
and
my
family
that
ended
up
with
his
death.
